I feel that Monster inc is a bit passed its prime to focus on it to be honest.

Monsters Inc 2 is coming soon. Monsters at Work released on Dis+ in 2021. Monsters U movie prequel released 2013.I feel that Monster inc is a bit passed it's prime to focus on it to be honest.
I wouldn't be surprised if they announced a new movie to help promote this..
But, the door coaster is one of the best ideas out of Disney in a long time. I've thought that would make a great coaster since I originally saw that movie over 20 years ago.
I honestly also thought this was an odd choice. Don't get me wrong--I think the ride itself will be absolutely amazing. It's also just SUCH an old IP. It doesn't have a ton of appeal to me, personally, but judging from overall fan reactions I'm in the minority.
My thought is that they analyzed both spending patterns (merch inside and outside of the park) as well as viewer data in D+ to determine if this would be a good move.
Well I supposed the difference is that 1. 7DMT replaced an older Snow White attraction and 2. Snow White was the very first color, full length Disney film so it holds some historical significance to both the company as a whole and the park.I feel like the old IP is a weird comment though, the Seven Dwarves Mine Train is based on a MUCH older product.
I figure once something crosses the 20 year threshold and still holds some interest, it's worth putting a ride/attraction in....

Although to your point, we seem to be getting a decent mix of newer IP (Zootopia, Encanto) versus older (Cars, Monsters Inc) with the announced updates.
Alicia’s been wavering on the RnRC thing, sounds like she sees it going elsewhere even if it might make sense at RnRC. I’m still not seeing any consensus on where this one is going, which is kind of incredible. Hopefully we get some sort of follow up from Disney soon? Todays post about Villains/Cars provided much needed clarity.Alica Stella with Orlando Parkstop, a great follow is full time in to this and follows all permits and designs very closely. She said a viable option is that they could take down RnR and build this land.
The Aerosmith deal has been on the edge for a long time and now they are retiring. The ride has had maintenance issues for a few years now and the track is in much need of being retracked. So do you spend that, or just replace the whole area with something new?? AND you can connect Launch Bay to RnR, only a parking lot is between them so ..... could this lead to an even bigger land or expansion??? More Pixar? I mean Incredibles deserve love, Inside Out 2 was a HUGE hit???

RnR just got refurbed so I doubt they will be taking that down. Maybe a retheme if they ever want to walk away from the aerosmith ideaAlica Stella with Orlando Parkstop, a great follow is full time in to this and follows all permits and designs very closely. I have not checked her recent comments. For me I would love for RnR to stay, get retracked when it must and change the theme. Could it work as an Incredible coaster or perhaps Max Powerline maybe? People are talking about the Muppets based solely on a piece of concept art that suggests it but I don't buy it at all. I mean as a start they literally just added stuff to Grand Avenue and made improvements to the theater, and I know people love to dog modern WDI about sightlines but even they wouldn't do that to Galaxy's Edge. I also wouldn't read too much into concept art, it gets dated fast.I really hope it's not Muppets![]()
Agree. I think the art piece that people think is Muppets is why? Because of a brick store front? Because of a water tower? Disney just might have done that to throw people off, keep a conversation going. And maybe they are building those in the new land?People are talking about the Muppets based solely on a piece of concept art that suggests it but I don't buy it at all. Animation Courtyard just makes the most sense to me. Launch Bay was obsolete the second Galaxy's Edge opened. Mermaid reopening will draw people back to that corner of the park.
Muppets makes no sense though. I never thought I'd agree with Corless on anything but they just don't have the space for it over there. Meanwhile there's a giant animation building that only has offices in it.
Re: RNRC I imagine we will hear about it at some point, I can't imagine they haven't already been throwing around ideas even before Aerosmith announced their retirement.
Universe of Energy got an entire refurb of the preshow area (new carpets, paint, etc.) like half a year before it closed so tbh that doesn't really mean anything to Disney.RnR just got refurbed so I doubt they will be taking that down. That honestly makes sense to me. Rock N is nearing the end of its life cycle (for a typical Vekoma coaster - which is approx. 25 years) and it runs year round vs other coasters of its type which run seasonally. It's been rumored that the ride has to keep getting refurbs due to fundamental issues with the ride due to age.Alica Stella with Orlando Parkstop, a great follow is full time in to this and follows all permits and designs very closely.
