Is it true????

I saw on another site that there were imagineers walking in and out of the building next to Toy Story Mania (I think) that said "hot set"- and that that is going to be the site of the rollercoaster/ride.

Anyone got any news on it?

It's been rumored for quite a while now, but I haven't heard anything lately to indicate that it is any closer to reality than it was before.

That is usually where the SWW merchandise and some character meet-and-greets take place, and that is coming up in just a week...

I'm sure I'm not alone when I first saw the door conveyor belt sequence near the end of Monsters Inc. and thought it SCREAMED theme park attraction. Of course by screaming it helped keep the power on my tv to watch the end of the movie;)

It has been RUMORED for quite some time.:)

A recent development has INCREASED the speculation considerably. The merchandise for SWW is usually sold in Soundstage 1,but this year is being sold in the AFI Showcase Shop and the Prop Shop.:)

Only time will tell.:)

I would love for this to be true. Some random guest on line in front of us for TSM told my boys this about a year and a half ago. They constantly ask me when is it going to open because "that man said it"

:rotfl::rotfl: :thumbsup2 Good one.

I wish they would bring the Monsters Inc ride from California Adventure to WDW.

I've heard the rumor several times of it going in that building next to TSM,I've also heard it would probably be similar to Crush's Coaster which looks like a fun ride so I hope an announcement is made on this.It also would be great to ease the lines at TSM.

This is probably just adding fuel to the speculation fire, but when I was still a CM, my manager told a group of us that there were plans for this ride.

From my understanding, they are planning to add it and it will be identical to the one in Cali.

That would be AWESOME! My sister and I loved the Monsters Inc ride at CA Adventure. It's not a roller coaster though, which is what I liked.

Did anybody ever go on Superstar Limo, the ride that became the Monsters Inc ride at California Adventure.Even though the Monsters Inc ride looks nice I think I feel bad having never gone on Superstar Limo, even if it's known as one of the cheesiest and most bizarre rides ever at a Disney park.I would prefer a clone of Crush's Coaster from Disneyland Paris to the Monsters Inc ride, this side of the park and the park in general needs something a bit more thrilling than that ride.

I hope they go a big more interactive. Tokyo Disneyland's Monsters Inc. Ride and Go Seek has a similar ride with flashlights. (The idea is you're playing flashlight tag with all the monsters.) When I rode the California Adventure version, it seemed like a truncated story, lacking magic and imagination. :/ We weren't lining up to ride again.

i've only heard the crush's coaster being tied to a ratatouille themed coaster. of course that was shortly before bob declared that ratatouille was not a franchise and wouldn't show up in the parks.

having heard of the monsters inc thing as well, the only thing i've heard about it was that it was going to be a suspended attraction, like peter pan's flight and based on the closet door chase scene, which is apparently what they wanted to do in DCA before resigning to just re-theming the existing SSL track.

In the original rumor I heard, it was to be a re-themed Crush's Coaster. After that it morphed into a suspended "door" coaster to better fit the theme, but I got the impression that that was more fan speculation than any design info.

Since attractions develop at a slow pace, even during the construction of the rides themselves, we likely won't see it for a year at the very least.

hmm..well i would like to see either a crush or a monsters inc rollercoaster.

would this replace backlot tour??
