Monsters Inc. Rollercoaster?

Our family has been on the "monster's Ink ride several times in Califonia. It is very tame and not worth a long wait.

Did anybody ever go on Superstar Limo, the ride that became the Monsters Inc ride at California Adventure.Even though the Monsters Inc ride looks nice I think I feel bad having never gone on Superstar Limo, even if it's known as one of the cheesiest and most bizarre rides ever at a Disney park.I would prefer a clone of Crush's Coaster from Disneyland Paris to the Monsters Inc ride, this side of the park and the park in general needs something a bit more thrilling than that ride.

Sounds like you are talking in code.... :lmao:

hmm..well i would like to see either a crush or a monsters inc rollercoaster.

would this replace backlot tour??

I would love to see that, too. And yes, I REALLY hope the backlot tour goes the way of the dodo... what a waste of space!

I would love the Monster's inc Ride from Japan. Now that looks fun (you can see it on the Monster's Inc Blu-ray).

Agree....if they are going the Monster's Inc route, would love to see them "import" from Tokyo.

According to Jim Hill in a recent podcast, the Monsters Inc. Coaster is coming to the soundstage at DHS in 2012 or 2013. This is so that it can be opened sometime near the release of Monsters Inc.2. Jim has also said that they plan to eventually clone the coaster at DCA near the Monsters Inc. dark ride.:hippie:

I would think they would time it to open around when the next Monster Inc movie is released.

Ooh!!!! I'm so very excited now! I'm planning a trip for either 2012 or 2013 and it sounds like a lot of new stuff will be opening! I didn't even know that there was going to be a Monsters Inc. 2!!! I love the movie!!! I'm at school now so I can't watch videos, but when I get home i'll watch the rides!

Oh, boy, does it sound like 2012/2013 will be a fantastic time to visit the World (not that I won't be there between now and 2013 ;))! The new resort will be opening (Art of Animation?); the Fantasyland reburb will be finished; and, possibly, a new coaster at DHS?!?! :woohoo:

Let me guess he also said PI was opening back up, monorail was being expanded and POLY DVC was progressing. I read little into rumors in general, but ones from Jim Hill go to the bottom of the list.

The Monsters Inc. coaster is suppose to be for DHS in Soundstage 1 - at Disney World first. It may eventually find its way to DCA.:hippie:

Hey, he got the one about POP Century being finished right! He's now 1 for 3,234,678. :lmao:

HAHA...after forecasting it would be done 200 previous times with 200 different explanations, sure, I'll give him that.

I think we all knew Disney would eventually do SOMETHING there, just what, who knows and it's not even like it's POP being completed, it's not going to be POP.

I'm good at reading rumors and whether they are really going to happen or not...their a certain level of rumor that is acheived when my instincts tell me it is really happening. I reached that level with Star Tours about 4 months before the official announcement....and on the FL expansion about 1 month before that "official announcement" (I was one of the ones that was convinced by the leaked blueprints it was going to happen.) Secrets like new attractions are too big to remain secrets...which is why Disney self-leaked the MK expansion project.

That said, I don't believe the Monster's Inc. rumors...yet...they've been going on since TSMM opened 2 years ago, and have perpetuated at the same level. I'm sure it's something that is on the drawing board at WDI, but is it coming soon...I'm not convinced.

But, wouldn't it be kinda cool if they DID build it 100% in secret, and then one day just put up a sign and said..."Hey look, we got a new roller coaster!" Never happen though.

Do you guys realize that Jim deals in rumors, and even coming from credible sources things are always subject to change.

Jay Rasulo was the head of parks and resorts and he announced the Pixie Hollow expansion at the D23 convention. That expansion isn't happening, does that call Jay Rasulo's credibility into account?

No, it means that at this point in time this is what is being discussed, but the interest in the franchise can waiver, the economy can change, or a more glaring need may crop up.

The Monster's Inc Coaster was on the Cast Member Portal, Jim doesn't make this stuff up, he has excellent information. The problem is many people on the internet deal with rumors in absolutes, when that isn't realistic.

To further identify where I'm coming from. I co-host the Podcast that Jim appeared on with this rumor. We've had him on twice since.

Episode 21 - Disney World Rumor Run Down
Episode 30 - Responding to Harry Potter
Episode 33 - Hollow Goodbye?

I would sooner believe that Disney would build the Monster Inc coaster in MY backyard than believe a Jim Hill Story....

i could be jim hill...catch a sniff of one rumor and then throw it up on a badly designed web page because i think it sounds "neat"
