Monsters, bugs, and… Jack Sparrow!? Final Update 7/13!!!!

So, I open my email, I see Mosters, bugs, ..... and I get all excited, she updated:banana:  ! Then before I read the message I told myself, it may just be someone posting asking where she was, but no it is you!

I love Maelstrom, but I love all waterflume rides. I hear a lot of parks are doing away with them:sad2: .

I haven't tried the orange yet and haven't wanted to. They say the green doesn't spin, but it must a little because I could feel my fingertips and feet going to sleep like I was spinning. Now when my DH says, Oh you can do the Orange, I'll say, "NO, Irky416 didn't like it either!".

Glad you got caught up in school. We've missed you.
Melissa

Glad you got all caught up at school. :) We've missed you. I've only tried Team Green on MS, but I can tell you right now, I know I will never try Orange cuz I was getting dizzy on Green (not as dizzy as whoever had the "protein spill" 2 seconds before the ride ended though :rotfl: ).
In a totall unrelated subject (but it WAS mentioned in earlier posts) I went to Cici's Pizza for the first time a few weeks ago and the macaroni and cheese pizza is AMAZING. Unfortunately (for the Disney-lover in me who would like nothing more than to go back) the cinnamon rolls gave me a sign.

Boy, Mickey tasted pretty good, too. :sad2:

Which country didn't you get? Isn't it sad when you get all but one!?

We didn't get China. :headache:
We couldn't figure out where it was and we had to get going. :sad2:
We did get a total of 32 pennies though.

Thanksgiving break is only 20 short school days away, and I'm finally beginning to feel like things are slowing down a little. :cool1:

Glad you are back and things are calming down.
My kids have a lot of days off in Nov. - election day, veteran's day, and two for thanksgiving. They'll be so happy! Of course we are then in school through most of June. :scared:

Chapter 20 – Irky416 doesn’t like this ride!!

Me and DBF’s mom wanted to do Green, but the Orange line was way shorter and so we were convinced to do go Team Orange. I was a little nervous about it. One time I rode the Enterprise at our local amusement park (it goes upside down while spinning around like a ferris wheel kind of while you’re sitting in a little car capsule) and it made me sick for three hours…like I couldn’t walk without feeling dizzy sick.) DBF convinced me as long as you follow the directions, you couldn’t even feel the spinning, so reluctantly I decided to go.

Here's us with our launch cards to prove we went Team Orange!

We got off and I really didn’t feel right. :headache: I didn’t feel like I was going to be sick or anything, but my body just did not feel right. It took at least a half hour to wear off and I had to sit down for a few minutes after I got off the ride. I know I will never be riding Team Orange again! Team Green all the way! (That is if I ever ride MS again!)

I don't like this ride either. :scared:

You summed up exactly how it makes me feel. Jacob did get me to go on orange this time. I was really good about staring straight ahead and keeping my eyes open. But its not a motion sickness thing, I don't feel sick either. Its just a really weird feeling of not being right. I feel scrambled.

I didn't think to take photos of us with our launch cards.
I would say we should take one next time, but I don't want to ride again.

Great update Irky and welcome back! I was scared to go on green I am not afraid to admit it. After we did green Josh said let's go ornge and I said let's go to test track instead!:thumbsup2

What a great big sister you are to bring your sister along for the fun.:thumbsup2

I love her! We always have fun when we hang out. Thanks for reading!

I couldn't believe I hadn't posted in so long when I looked at the date! I love waterflume rides, too!

I will admit, I didn't feel the spinning on MS. I would never had known we were spinning if I wasn't told that. I just didn't like the way I felt after! I'll never be riding Orange again. Glad to be of help to you! ;)

Now I wonder if I would like Green? I don't know that I'll ever get the courage up to try, though!

I'm glad you liked the Mac and Cheese pizza! lol at the cinnamon roll!!

I almost didn't get China either! They should make them easier to find! I don't know that I could find it again even though I already found it once!

We have 5 days off in November. 3 are for Thanksgiving and 2 are only for the students (but a day without students is an easy day so we don't count those as "real" work days!). I'm glad we don't have to go too late into June, though!

Yes! Feeling scrambled is a perfect way of describing getting off that ride.

Thanks. Hahaha! I wish I would have said that instead of agreeing to Orange! Did Green bother you at all?

This is totally off topic, but I have to post about it because I was so excited!

We went to my university's homecoming celebration on Friday night. They always have a fireworks display and activities in the union afterwards.

They had a balloon artist, so I decided I would ask the guy to make a hat for Jack. He thought for a minute and said, "Sure!"

So what does he make him? A lime green pair of Mickey ears!

I didn't even realize the lime green connection until later in the night! How awesome is that!? :goodvibes Jack is still sporting them. He's very happy he has his very own pair of Mickey ears!

That is so cool! Jack's hat is awesome. Lime green Mickey ears!!! That's got me wondering if the balloon guy was a disser.

Thanks. Hahaha! I wish I would have said that instead of agreeing to Orange! Did Green bother you at all?

I did like green actually. The green was actually kind of like taking off on an airplane then it was kind of like being IN a video game. It was fun and I would do it again but I know my limits and I am sure orange would push them.

I love the report of MS...we didn't go because we had the kids...now I may never go!:lmao:

Don't you love the stories you get to hear again and again! Funny!;)

Love Jack's new look! Very Nice!:thumbsup2

Maybe I'll try green next time, then. Maybe!

Try the green first! I think if I would have done green, I would have known better than to do orange!

Chapter 21 – Illuminations

We didn’t really feel like walking anywhere and so we decided to just stay right outside of Mexico for Illuminations. For some reason, I didn’t remember any info. from the DIS about where the best spot for Illuminations was. :scared1: We saw a bunch of people there and figured it was as good a spot as any.

The sunset was really pretty over the lake so we took some pictures. Except I think my camera somehow got on the wrong setting at some point because a lot of the pictures from the rest of the night turned out really grainy. I think I forgot to turn down the ISO. :confused3

I love this picture of the WS. I think I might get it enlarged and hang it up in our house somewhere. (Of course, I'll have to edit the shoulder out!)

Then we settled down on the ground to wait for the show to start.

Of course Jack had to get caught up on the business happening at home:

Overall, I didn’t really like Illuminations. It was probably my least favorite show we saw. And I don’t think I would wait around to see it again. Maybe we were just in a bad viewing spot, or maybe I was just really tired, but I didn’t really get it. Oh well. Here are some pictures. None of which turned out very well.

Here's a short video...

After Illuminations, we headed towards the front of the park. Wow, it was crowded! We probably would have waited to leave, but DBF’s parents were tired and really wanted to get home. On our way out, though, we stopped in Mouse Gear to get my dad a huge pen. He specifically asked for that as a souvenir because he always does crossword puzzles and needs pen. DSis and I found a huge Mickey one there and decided to get it in case we didn’t see another one later. Mouse Gear was definitely my favorite store in all of WDW! I would go to Epcot again just for the store! :goodvibes

On our walk out I tried to get some pictures of SSE. I really wanted a nice one of it lit up at night, but there were so many people around I couldn’t really stop. And it’s very hard to get a clear picture of something all lit up at night while walking even with an IS camera.

We drove back home and found a hidden Mickey in the parking lot!

322604160_8ihbe-L.jpg

We all ate cereal for dinner because we never did eat dinner at the park and pretty much crashed because of all the walking we had done.

Tomorrow we’d be splitting up. DSis and DBF’s parents were heading to Sea World and DBF and I were going to see where the day took us.

Up Next: What will we decide to do with our free day? Did DBF’s parents want to kill DSis by the end of their day alone at Sea World?

I love Jack's Mickey ears. I thought the same thing as Kathleen27, was the balloon maker a Diser? Did you tell him Jacob was your traveling buddy to WDW?

I think your spot for Illuminations was good. I don't really think of it as a show, well firework show, but that is it. After finally getting to see the fireworks at MK in front of the castle, I have to admit they are the best.

Can't wait for the next update. Sure is good to have you back!

Hi-hi :)

Oh man, I definitely know for sure that I'll never ride the orange side of Mission: Space! Part of me is still scared to even ride the green side!!! At least you can say you tried the orange. Too bad that you got sick

I vaguely remember watching IllumiNations as a kid and not really enjoying it. I kind of lumped all fireworks shows together after that. Then I read about Wishes and how they have the snippets of the characters speaking so now I'm dying to see that one instead!

Well, all I can say is you are braver than me! I am still too chicken to try Mission:Space. :scared:

Love Jack's mouse ears. Too cute.

Mouse Gear is one of the best stores in WDW. :thumbsup2

I didn't tell the balloon guy anything about Jack. I just asked if he could make a hat that would fit him. I wonder if he was a Diser.

If you made Jack a hat at Homecoming two weeks ago, say hi! ;)

We did end up thinking it was a good spot for Illuminations. I think I thought it was more of a "show" like Wishes or Fantasmic - which I hadn't seen but had watched on YouTube. It takes a lot for me to be impressed by fireworks as my city has them all the time and they are amazing!

The first time we saw Wishes it wasn't from the front of the castle and I didn't think it was great either - good, yes, but not great - but after watching from the partners statue I was totally impressed! It makes such a difference watching from the front!

I know I'll never ride it again! I probably wouldn't even do green unless someone really wanted me to ride with them.

Wishes is awesome. I listen to the soundtrack of it at school all the time when I am in my room by myself. It's peaceful and brings back good memories. Hearing the music always makes me want to go back to see it in person, though!

Well, all I can say is you are braver than me! I am still too chicken to try Mission:Space. :scared:

Haha. Definitely try green first if you ever decide to brave it!

Jack's mouse ears are still on him and in perfect shape. The balloons the guy used must be really good quality!

What an amazing sunset!!!
The sunset pictures are great!

Thanks! I have a thing with sunset pictures and of all that I have that is definitely up there in my favorites.

Chapter 22 - Sea World

Sunday June 22

We split up this day and DSis and DBF's parents went to Sea World. This will be a brief update because I wasn't with them, so don't have much to report.

DSis was looking forward to going to Sea World the most. They got up and left around 9 and spent the whole day there. They didn't get home until around 10:30. DSis kept texting me throughout the day and sending me pictures of stuff they were doing. She sounded so excited. DBF's parents didn't even want to kill her at the end of the day. I was happy it went so well.

Here's a few pictures she took.

She also loved the Sea Lions Tonight show. Another one we missed last time. She wouldn't stop talking about it the rest of the week!
323575480_F6SJa-L.jpg

That's about all for now.

Next update will be what DBF and I decided to do on Sunday. Hint: We did not end up having a very good day and learned an important lesson about WDW and what NOT to do in the future!

PS. I'm watching the Full House WDW episode right now and am going through major WDW withdrawal! I've gone so far as to start pricing some options out and seeing how long it would take to drive!

Looks like your Sis had some fun. Oooh. I'm curious about what your DBF learned about what to NOT do at WDW.
About Disney withdrawels...
I totally know how you feel. There's been so many ads/ Travel Channel shows on about WDW/ What will you celebrate? that it's been hard not to. And the new deal sounds amazing. Hope you can get back there real soon.

Great updates - I'm all caught up now!

I loved your pics of WS - it is so beautiful...speaking of which...I am having WDW withdrawal symptoms myself! I have been doing the price checks as well... :goodvibes

Looking forward to hearing what NOT to do - sorry you had a bad day!

Love Wishes, dislike Illuminations
, never seen Fantasmic...

I also have gone on orange of MS. And I hate it. But I go for FH. Once a trip. He goes everywhere I want and supports my Disney Habit even when we should be saving for a life together and he just let be buy DVC... so i figure going orange and feeling mildly ill all day is the least I can do for him! :scared1: :scared1:
