Chapter 19 Around the world
.again!
We left off with us on the friendship boat in order to go back around the world to collect the missed pennies! The boat drops us off by Japan.
We head into the stores to look for the penny machines. We actually look around here for a little bit. They have some interesting things. DSis and I watched the Pick a Pearl for a few minutes, but decided against doing it.
We saw the good luck cats. I really liked them and so did DSis. Actually, DSis loved them and wanted one, but she didnt want to spend any money on it. I decided not to get one either. Of course, this is the one thing I really regret not buying. Don't you all have that one thing you decided not to buy and then get home and wish you would have bought? I finally asked about a penny because I was having a hard time finding it and the lady told me they were in the Showcase Plaza. Oy. We had just been over that way!
We left Japan and headed to American Adventure and Italy. I took no pictures here. I really dont know why. I can only assume I was exhausted from running all over the WS
twice in the heat and that I had pennies on the brain! We were getting pretty tired at this point and were starting to drag. I pretty much ran ahead and got my penny while DBF and DSis lagged behind. I was determined to get those pennies!
We had to stop in Germany, though. It was the last Full House picture I needed! I told DSis about it on our way over and she got excited and we started reciting lines from that scene. It perked us both up a little bit. We got there and I had to show DSis where it was. We had to get a photo and it felt good to sit down for a few minutes. DBF sat while I went and got my penny and I think that made him feel a little better. I was happy I had gotten all the Full House pictures I had wanted!
We walked past China since we had already been there and headed back to Norway. I knew there was a ride there and I wanted our picture with the giant troll I had seen on here so many times!
On the way we had called DBFs parents to see where they were. (I bet you forgot they were with us! We hadnt seen them in a few hours.) They were watching one of the shows in the WS and said they would meet us in Norway in about a half hour and we would ride the boat. We got to Norway and I found my penny! Then we went to find the giant troll!
We all wanted to be in the picture with the huge troll and we were trying to figure out how to go about that or at least what pair was going to go first when some very nice lady heard our debate and offered to take a picture of all four of us. Four, you ask? Jack wanted in too!
Since we had some time to kill we decided to play around in the store.
DSis made the troll wear sunglasses. See Jack?
I was hoping kissing the troll would be me good luck much the way I heard kissing stingrays in Grand Cayman would bring good luck. (I kissed one of those too!
I'll take all the luck I can get!)
We were kind of hungry since we had eaten lunch a while ago. We went into the bakery in Norway and decided to find an edible snack in there. DSis and I are rather picky eaters and are not into trying new foods, so that was an adventure in and of itself! We finally decided on two different pastries. I cant remember what they were called. I think one was maybe this that I found on the allears.net menu. Kringla Sweet Pretzel And I think the other wass this: Lefse - traditional potato bread with butter and cinnamon sugar
We sat outside at one of the tables and enjoyed, or rather tried to enjoy, our snacks. I say tried to enjoy because there was a rather large collection of birds poking around under all the tables looking for handouts. I kept one eye on the birds the whole time I was eating! And the people around us were feeding them, encouraging even more to come over. Grrrr
.Dont feed the birds people!
Overall, I enjoyed our snacks. DBF and DSis loved the pretzel and I enjoyed the stick things.
While we were waiting for DBFs parents, I double checked my map and made sure I had gotten all my pennies. I had checked them off as I got them and realized I had all of them but China and Japan. And of course, Mexico.
DSis took a picture of herself making the face.
And then DBFs parents met up with us finally. We were going to ride Maelstrom (which by the way, I cant look at or say anymore without thinking of Lost. Did anyone watch the enhanced version when Miles Storm was introduced and it mentioned how it was inspired from the Norwegian word for a bad storm. Miles Storm Maelstrom
get it!?) but the wait was actually rather long. We grabbed FPs which were good in like an hour, which I didnt understand when the line was like 40 minutes long.
(I think I have some order of something wrong here, but I wasnt taking pictures, so I dont remember. My picture log is how I remember what order things happened in! I know I went and searched for my China and Japan pennies in the Showcase Plaza at some point right before we headed over to Future World. But DBF and DSis just chilled out on a bench while I ran all over the stores looking for them. DBFs parents were not with us at this point, but I dont remember why. Oh well. I did eventually find both the China and Japan pennies. Neither was in the International Gateway, though, where I had looked for a long time for the China penny they told me was there. And no one seemed to know what I was talking about in the Showcase Plaza. I was wandering around for at least 20 minutes before I finally found both pennies in two different stores with no help from CMs. Even though I dont remember exactly how, I just wanted to let you all know that after much searching, I did complete my WS penny collection!
All except Mexico! DBF and DSis were just relaxing on the bench talking to some lady not even worried about me being gone for 20 minutes! At least they didnt call me and tell me to come running this time!

When we met Belle and Beast there were people waiting for Beast to come back too. Sounds like your CM made a big goof. It's good that you guys stood up for yourselves. I don't think Beast signs as the Beast. I've never noticed but he has huge hands and usually those people made like that don't? I know you can meet him during Christmas as the Prince but then he wouldn't be signing Beast (I wouldn't think so anyway). GREAT new pics!!!
I'll have to wait for another student to tell me they're going!
