Monorail Drink-A-Thon

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! said:
Everytime I get started on the trip report I get distracted with either food or wine. :confused3

I think for our next trip we're just going to take a lot more pics so we don't have to write a review...just post the pics and you'll get the idea! :p

Haha yeah! Just pictures of us eating and drinking...like the series we have from the sampler at the brewery :rotfl:

Mmmmm the brewery

Thanks to all for your input.

I hope that everyone has a safe and "lushful" weekend!!!

Lorelai-Sounds good! I had the drink in the pineapple (Lapu Lapu) but next time will try one in a coconut!

Thanks JJ!

NM and ahhhh...you two are CRACKING ME UP! :rotfl:

Hey, is that your beautiful engagement ring in the pic of NM drinking out of the red and white cup? And I love the one of ahhh kissing you on the cheek...what a sweetie pie!

Wow. I haven't posted on this thread since it first started, I have missed so much!

Quick question about the brewery. I wanted to try it out but have heard some not so good things about the food. Can you just go there for a drink or 2 or 8?

I would love to try that wheat beer that Ahhhhhh raves about and that sampler looks yummy!

Yes! They have a bar there as well. Infact the last two times we were there we sat at the bar for drinks and food. I actually enjoy sitting at the bar to drink and eat more than sitting at the table, the bartenders there are awesome and they always give us a treat!

Ive read people complain about the food and I can understand, but Ive never had a problem with the food... quesadillas, hummus, chicken ceaser salad, and the burgers have all been ace! :3dglasses

We'll be at the bar first thing this thursday, whee! :)

OK. its definitly going back on the list. We are dedicating a whole day to the monorail-drink-athon this trip. It will fit in perfectly there! hopefully we'll remember where it is at that point! :goodvibes :goodvibes

If I may recommend, to me the best time to hit up the brewery is for lunch on an Epcot day. Start off Epcot in the morning do some rides, head over to the Boardwalk through the international gateway, have some drinks get some food and then hit up the World Showcase! :3dglasses

but hey, thats me! :p

WLL- This is the ring :goodvibes sorry its kinda fuzzy

::yes::

only my first reaction was "aaaawwww"!! :rotfl: or make that ahhhhhhhhhhh

sorry, couldnt resist!!

Need a brewery!!

edited to add... you know I always check out this thread as I'm sipping a drink!! :rotfl2: I just am so looking forward to our lush around the world in OCT!!

nm and ahhhhh, loved the pix (and the ring!). Although I like the idea of trying the brewery, I don't think I'll make it there for lunch on my Epcot day because that means I need to pass by the R&C and you know I have to stop for fish & chips and Boddington's! So I'll have to make a special trip.... hmmmm, I'm staying at the BWV in Oct for F&W and MNSSHP; maybe I can eat/drink there on my MNSSHP day (but not too much cuz we'll be with DD).

luvthatduck, yes, I was born in Puerto Rico. My parents are actually from Argentina but they ended up there.... they live now in Orlando (lucky me).

WLL, to be honest, I don't remember much of Deland from my time at Stetson. I didn't really integrate well (it was quite a culture shock) and I was already a Junior when I transferred. I moved within the first couple of months to Daytona (with my then-bf) and spent as little time as possible in "Deadland". What used to be my bank is now the School of Business. There wasn't a Walmart or anything else for that matter...
Back then it was sooooo dead and Daytona was soooo happening.... I stayed in Daytona for a year after graduation and then moved to Miami when my bf graduated from Embry Riddle.

Minnie and Ahhh - I love your photo review! You two are so cute! Minnie, your ring is gorgeous!! I hope you both have lots of fun next week!

Cristy - Definitely try and plan a trip to the Brewery, it's great fun!

*waves* to everyone! :sunny:

We did a little variation of the monorail drink-a-thon and drank around the boardwalk :goodvibes

-First stop was the Leaping Libations Pool bar for a beer or two

back in our room happy as can be

Then it was on to the Bellevue lounge for a couple rounds of gin rummy and a tanqueray & tonic as well as a black label and coke

Our final stop (where we also ended up the following night after the monorail drink a thon) JELLYROLLS!!!!

We were by far the rowdiest couple there ;)
Jellyrolls was tons of fun. We left round 2 am and hit up the quiet pool jacuzzi :goodvibes

After recovering Friday morning/afternoon. We had an early dinner at Citricos and started the monorail drink-a-thon there with wine pairings and a white chocolate martini, followed by martinis at Mizners lounge.

The band was playing so we spent a while there.
Afterwards we stopped by the outer rim lounge, then up to our concierge lounge, to our room where we had the Iron Horse Fairy Tale Cuvee waiting for us. We drank that while watching wishes

Then we went down to the arcade and played a couple rounds of airhockey. I of course lost, but it was fun. It was also funny to see others laughing at us since we were both dressed up (me in heels!!) playing air hockey :earboy2:

After losing to DF twice, we decided to head back over to Mizners and once there we had a couple glasses of what I believe to be reisling. Afterwards, on some crazy whim, we went to Jellyrolls :rotfl:

needless to say...I was feeling it Saturday :teeth:

Saturday we laid off the drinking until Cali Grill where we had wine pairing with our dinner.

When we returned to our room we once again enjoyed the fairy tale cuvee during wishes :cloud9:

Hope you guys don't mind the pics :goodvibes

Yay! :) So glad to hear you had such a wonderful trip! I love all of the pictures and the two drinkathons are awesome! :sunny: Isn't Jellyrolls super duper fun? DH and I go there almost every single trip. I had to laugh when you said that "on a crazy whim" you ended up back at Jellyrolls because that's what *always* happens to us. We don't have plans to go back, but before you know it, there we are.

I love the picture of the two of you toasting with the Cuvee during Wishes. You and Ahhh make such a lovely couple. :goodvibes

Thank you, Nerdy Minnie! You and ahhhh are my WDW idols, I swear! You guys go so often and have so much fun and do the exact things my DH and I would do if we had a chance to go so often.

First, gotta comment about the view from your CL room at the CR...WOW :earseek: That's all I can say! I am bowled over...too impressive! The view from your room at the Boardwalk....is that a preferred view? It is great, too! I bet at night it was also beautiful! Do ya'll carry those Minnie and Mickey guys around with ya everywhere?

LOVE that pic of you drinking a martini in Mizner's! That glass is beautiful and so are you! You look so purty all dolled up like that...must have been some sight seeing you two play air hockey later in the evening.

Ahhhh looks a little devilish in the pic where you are toasting champagne. pirate:

I love the pics...so keep em coming...they really make me chuckle. Thanks for sharing! :flower:

She forgot to mention that before and after the pool bar we went to the Brewery for a few of their delicious Wowzer's Wheat. Afterwards, we decided to rent a surrey bike and ride around the Boardwalk/YC&BC Area twice. It was so much fun! Plus looking at the annoyed faces when we were going down hill screaming and ringing the bell :3dglasses

WLL: Yes that's a preferred view room. Not sure how preferred, its the absolute last room of the Boardwalk Villas. Its quite a walk but it was a nice view and there was an exit right next to us to get out to the MGM pathway, so I guess it wasn't that bad. ;)

Boy, I wish we could do this again! :cool1:

Thanks for the great picures and lush report! Was the champagne in the concierge lounge? I usually forget to pack appropriate glasses :(. We never make it to the lounge at the Boardwalk. I don't know why since it looks so nice. Maybe next trip ... we'll be at BCV for a few days.

BTW, my friends had the room next to yours last year for our annual NYE trip. I really enjoyed the view and it was pretty easy to get to the busses from the side door. We booked a BW view, but asked to be placed near each other:

It didn't work!
