If I want to ride the Monorail around Spaceship Earth, do I get on at the Epcot station or the TTC?

Any monorail arriving at EPCOT does a "lap" around [which I love] where you can see Spaceship Earth. Be sure to sit on the right side of the monorail in order to have Spaceship Earth to your right - and hopefully unobstructed. I'm usually standing and take pictures as the monorail makes its way around.

So to answer your question, yes, TTC monorail.

Glad to know I'm not the only one who gets giddy at the thought of the Epcot monorail arrival loop. That's how I saw Epcot for the very first time when it and MK were the only parks. We hopped from MK to Epcot and were like "WOW!" when we came gliding in. Soooooo coooooool. LOL!

When I went to Disneyland in 1986 we stayed at the Disneyland Hotel and there was a monorail from the Hotel directly to Tomorrowland right next to the submarine ride. It was so awesome leaving the hotel and riding directly into the park and walking out of the monorail into Tomorrowland. I wish they did that at EPCOT instead of you leaving the monorail and still being outside the park gates.

While it would be cool security issues and making sure people have proper admission would prohibit that. Plus that was 30 years ago, a lot has changed making it that not such a viable option.

Disneyland still has the monorail enter the park from their DTD...they just staff that entrance with some security and ticketing before you go up to the monorail terminal.

And at the Grand Californian, you can walk right into DCA.

As is, EPCOT typically only runs 5 of their 30 tap styles at their main entrance. If they added ticketing at TTC, the main entrance would be down to 3 operational tap styles :lol

Actually either one. You can get on at Epcot and ride the Monorail to TTC and just stay on when it gets there. It will very shortly leave and head back to Epcot where you will do the loop around SSE. Either way will require the same amount of time since it is a loop. One way or the other you will have to get back to your starting point. So, if you're in Epcot, do as the first part says. If you're at MK that day, then do it from TTC returning to TTC after the loop.

But as stated before, the only way you see the inside of Epcot is when you are approaching it. Now if you are planning a split day (park hopper) and started at MK, then you just have a one way to Epcot and it is the right way. If you are at Epcot and want to split to MK, then you will not experience the loop around. A lot depends on whether or not you are a offsite guest and parking in one of the parking lots (TTC or Epcot) or taking the bus from a Disney resort hotel. However, no matter which one you are, it requires the trip from TTC to do the loop.

We felt the monorail at DL was a ride but at WDW I think of it as a mode of transportation

I don't see WDW ever changing things so you get on /off inside Epcot. It would require a fair bit more work than adding turnstiles at TTC

My thoughts as well. If all the people at the TTC who are going to Epcot were required to go inside Epcot, there would be a lot of confused people who maybe just wanted to ride over there because the waits to go to Magic Kingdom were too long when they arrived. So Disney would have to have a queue for "going inside Epcot" and "not going inside Epcot". And would a separate track need to be built because you wouldn't want someone who hasn't gone through security to actually be inside Epcot even if they aren't getting off the monorail. That would need to be monitored.

While the monorail at Disney World is a nice quiet place (most of the times) for a "ride", it is used for transportation between the monorail resorts, Magic Kingdom, and Epcot.

Here are the Epcot Monorail travel times:

TTC to Epcot Station----9 minutes

Epcot Station to TTC----7 minutes.

So Guests spend an awesome 2 minutes "inside" Epcot(My favorite view is of World Showcase).:)

Great answers!
I'm looking forward to a quick aerial view of Flower and Garden.
