We are arriving on the Sunday after Thanksgiving (11/27) and spending the evening at Epcot to avoid the post Thanksgiving crowds. We were planning on spending our first full day, Monday the 28th, at MK - are we making a bad decision? I would have thought most of the Thanksgiving guests would have headed home by then but I've read more than a few posts lately that the crowds linger and Monday is packed.

Please tell me your experience at the parks, specifically MK, the Monday after Thanksgiving.....

TIA :)

I am wondering this also. We are planning on going to MK on Monday after Thanksgiving and Im beginning to wonder if it is a mistake. :wave2:

No, Monday is not packed. Sunday is the day most people leave. For the most part school is back in session on Monday.

I was at MK the Sunday right after Thanksgiving and thought to myself, "Wow! I bet tomorrow will be even less crowded". It seemed to me that the crowds had really thinned out so I venture to say that the Monday would be even less crowded. I remember looking into Adventureland that Sunday afternoon and was wondering where all the other people were! It should be a great time to go. :flower:

Just had to pop back on this thread to say hi! I'm right down the road from you in Mansfield....

My experience in the last couple of years going the week after Thanksgiving was that Monday at MK was much more crowded than Sunday at MK. My best guess is due to MVMCP that many people don't venture to MK early on Sunday and save their pass for another full day and just arrive at 4pm before the party.

We're going to be at MK the Monday after Tgiving too! Maybe it will be crowded - all the people from the DIS will be there. LOL.

Well, "Howdy do" right back! :wave2: One of my co-workers lives in Mansfield! :flower:

We were there last year from Thanksgiving Day until the following Wed. The parks were crowded all week-end. Monday was better but not as empty as I had thought it would be.Tuesday was good, but since we did MVMCP that night, it's hard to judge park attendance. We did a quick trip to Epcot on our last day, Wed., and it was very quiet!!! I'll be arriving on Wed this year and I'm looking forward to smaller crowds. At least until the week-end anyway!!

Yes, my family and I will be in MK Monday after Thanksgiving too. We have an 8:10 ressie at CRT, so hopefully will have a "slight" headstart when the park opens at 9 AM. :)

Does that mean someone might actually notice my lime green Mickey head? That doesn't happen too often. I can see it now-a sea of lime green and Croc-wearing people.

If this happens, throw everything you read on Disboards out the window and do everything opposite of you read here! :)

ok - we will definitely NOT be wearing Crocs but we'll be there. LOL. This will be our fourth trip and I have yet to see anyone with any DIS stuff or lime green mickey heads, etc.

Go to MK, I'll be at Epcot that day! LOL
Seriously, I don't think those of us that will be there that week have much to worry about.

We're tent camping at Fort Wilderness Tue thru Fri that week. We plan to hit Magic Kingdom on Wednesday due to the parade schedule and Extra Hours Night. Long drive from Central IL. and tent camping in Dec is unheard of around here. But from everything we've read or been told this is one of the best weeks to be there, as far as crowds are concerned. Can't wait to see the decorated camp sites at Fort Wilderness! We'll be visiting the "grandparents" in Venice, FL. then driving up to Disney. The kids (5dd, 8ds) don't know we're going to Disney. They only know that we're going camping in Florida. Looking forward to it. :sunny:
