I was put on bedrest last week, and for anyone who has been confined to bed, you know that it is definitely not all it's cracked up to be, especially with a toddler running around. But, went to see the peri today and was told modified bedrest would be ok.

Thankfully the baby is doing great, and is still measuring about 2 weeks ahead. According to the u/s estimates, the little one weighs 5 1/2 pounds already!! I know that these measurements aren't always accurate, but with my last PG, they were right on with my DS's weight. So, I'm really hoping to make it to 36 weeks, and 37 would be fantastic. Keeping my fingers crossed.
Bedrest is a pain, but at least you're both still healthy!
RCS is scheduled for 7/6... I'm supposed to go to my pre-op appt tomorrow... Not sure why it's so early.
Maybe because of the long holiday weekend
The room that is going to be the nursery is painted dark blue with a galaxy painted on the ceiling right now - not exactly what I had pictured for a little girl!
Definitely not - but it would go perfectly with my DS3's space themed room!
.... random question, for everyone. You know the mattress springs has the bars that pull out and attack to the legs. Is there any reason you couldn't have those bars below the springs? I know traditionally you put the springs below, to where the springs are hanging from the bars, but it just made the mattress SO stinking low. I wasn't sure I'd be able to bend to get him out after the c-section, so DH took it off and redid the bars to where they were holding the springs up above them.
It's almost ridiculously high now but will be fine for a newborn, we'll just have to adjust a lot sooner. Probably after I heal up from the RCS.
I think the other ladies are right that it sounds like your DH moved it to the newborn position, and you will want to move it down when baby starts sitting up. When DH put DS1's crib together the 1st time, he put the mattress on the lowest setting, and it was just awful for me trying to reach way down there after the c-section!
On another note, I thought for a few minutes this morning that my water had "broken". I was going potty, and it just kept dripping. Nothing like the steady stream last time... And certainly not a gush like my mom always claimed to have had with each of us... but a slow steady drip. Guess my bladder is just so crammed up that it takes a while to finish emptying cuz eventually the dripping stopped.
I've been having a feeling like that a few times already - scary the first time!
We just found out today that we are expecting...took 2 tests this morning and they confirmed we brought back a souvenir from Disney!

So can I join in on this club now?
Congratulations and welcome!! As for finding out, I'm another one that can't wait to find out, and lucky for me DH is the same way. When DD didn't really cooperate for our big u/s at 18 weeks, he agreed to go for a 3D just to be sure!

I agree with the comment that finding out at 20 weeks is still a surprise, just one you find out sooner! It's a personal decision though, so whatever you two decide will still be fun!
Had anyone heard from Mrs. Charming? She usually posts a lot but I have not seen her in a while.....just hoping she is doing ok
I haven't seen her either, and I think she was the keeper of the list we haven't seen for awhile. I hope we didn't offend her somehow....
I have a question, forgive my stupidity...but how are the drop-side cribs harmful? looking at ours I don't see how it could fall, and even if it did how it could possibly hurt ds, and neither does dh. the whole crib would have to fall completely apart. I am just curious!
going back to the dr today! got to ask about some really painful bh contractions and about me losing weight...i am eating a lot and have lost 4 pouns this week, meaning i've only gained 17 pounds so far...not that i'm complaining but I don't want to harm ds!
I hope the dr has answers for you, it seems unusual to be losing weight at this stage, but I'm sure everything is ok!
I don't get the drop-side crib thing either, but it still makes me worry anyway. My mom has a really old drop-side crib, so old I used it when I was a baby. I'm ok with DS sleeping in it, because he's so big and she took a side off for him to use more like a toddler bed now. But I really don't want DD to use it as a newborn. I sent my mom a link to the recalls, but being that her crib is almost 30 years old, of course it's not on the list. She responded that she wouldn't want to buy a new crib since it's all the new cribs that are being recalled.

I'm thinking about getting that $125 Graco one you are all talking about just so I would be more comfortable with DD staying there, but it's only once a week, so I just don't know. Plus, my little sister has a newer crib at her house that has only been used a few times (her ex-bf had a baby), so it would make so much more sense if sis would just let mom use the newer crib. But the two of them are full of so much drama that I'm sure that would never happen.

Girls, I got an e-mail today that all of the Trumpette disney socks and tights are on sale - they're all so adorable!! I had the Trumpette Johnny socks for DS and always got so many comments on how adorable they were - they also fit him for a really long time and are well made. I have been looking at some for DD, now I just have to decide which Disney ones to get!
