Moms to be Part 4

I think that the whole 'morning sickness is over at 12 weeks' is a crock! With both of my pregnancies, I've been nauseous well past that. I felt queasy this morning.. at 22 weeks! I hope it ends for you soon. :goodvibes

ITA - I was well into my 4 month with my first two before I started to feel better, but then one day, I magically woke up with more energy and no nausea. I am 14 weeks now (close to 15), and last Friday was the magic day for me. I know it doesn't work that way for everyone, but I hope it will for you - and soon!

BTW, I just got an e-mail with a coupon code for a free Udder Cover - you just pay the shipping, which is $9.95. Seems like a good deal to me - I did it and it went through fine. Don't know if I am supposed to post a coupon code, so PM me if you would like it. :goodvibes

Anyone have any weird food cravings? I haven't craved anything during my pregnancy until this week.. All I've wanted to eat this week are strawberry pancakes (strawberries baked in with strawberry syrup) and peanut butter on whole-wheat toast.... Not the healthiest things in the world to eat, but it's made me to drink lots of milk.

YES - I had a Western Bacon Cheeseburger from Carl's Jr EVERY DAY for the last 3 months with my first one - talk about not healthy! 10 years later and my husband still can't look at one :rotfl: With my second it was pizza - that was an expensive one! This time it is milkshakes. Oh, and with all 3 - Malt O Meal. I swear, I do try to eat healthy normally. I also have a thing for Iced Tea this time around. I figure the food I can eat while pregnant is God's way of making up for all of the feeling crappy :lmao:

Not sure if I would classify mine as "weird", but here are the current cravings...

1) Mickey Bars... yeah I know, but the dove dark ice cream bars come close.
2) There is a restaurant around here called Chuy's. It's tex-mex and they have the best green chili rice and green chili warm salsa. I want both. NOW.
3) Ice cream with stuff on it. I'm not even sure what kind of stuff... oreos? fruit? candy? dunno... just sounds good.

Mostly I just crave carbs (bread and sugar).

Now, food aversions? Those are fun... and a little odd... current one: green onions. GROSS!

I'm craving Dairy Queen... or soft ice cream in general. I can't get enough! That, and cheeseburgers. Yummmm. I'm definitely gaining weight. My preggo pants from my last pregnancy aren't fitting. :lmao:

I think I'm just really cranky today too. I was supposed to be going to Disney tomorrow with dd and a friend and her dd. Well first my friend cancelled - which I completely understood. So then I was just going to go with DD. But then she said she didn't want to go with just me because she wouldn't be able to ride the "big" rides. So then we were going to go ahead and make it just a bit bigger trip and DH go too, but airfare shot up ridiculously before he got his vacation approved....which he never did get approved and finally just told his boss to forget it. And quite honestly I'm a little resentful.....I NEED a break and I wanted to go to my happy place :headache:

I have had some definite cravings - I think I have had a sausage egg & cheese biscuit from McDonalds at least 3 mornings every week. Also beef. Give me a steak or a juicy burger. But baked or grilled chicken totally turns me off. I am okay with a roasted chicken sandwich from Subway....but it's not as good as it used to be. Oh..and I've been eating a lot of chicken pot pies (talk about not healthy).

I kwym, we need a break too. One year ago today, we were at WDW. I'm so tempted to just book a trip to Pop in a few weeks and just say screw going in December. :scared1: I just might do it too!

I miss beef! I ate steak once and have had two 'real' burgers and they did not sit well with me... Apparently this little girl does not care for red meat... Oh well, probably better for me in the long run.

I forgot to add ketchup. I have been eating tons of it. I *HATE* ketchup. :confused3

I have my one hour glucose test tomorrow. I am NOT looking forward to it at all. I am so afraid I will get sick from drinking that stuff on an empty stomach!

Hope your test went well! I go in for mine on Monday. I used to like orange soda, but not anymore! :rotfl:

As for cravings, I've been eating mac and cheese a lot....the frozen Stouffer's kind is great! And ice cream is always welcome! :)

I'm not a big red meat eater normally, but I do like burgers once in a while; however, I cannot tolerate any red meat at all this pregnancy. Funny thing is that it was poultry I could not stand with DD and red meat with this one.....

That would make me cranky, too. What a bummer.

Has anyone here done any good pregnancy workout videos that aren't too long, and aren't yoga? I'm feeling better now and would love to at least do some exercise, but the one video I tried before was a total waste - plus it was so old, and they did a little dance called "the preggo shuffle" while checking their pulse  I hated it. Yoga is difficult for me bc I have metal rods in my back, but I would love a good toning workout. Any ideas?

Has your doctor given you any limitations? I just use regular workout videos and alter something if I have to. Also my library has free rentals so if yours does you could get some through there. I did that with my first pregnancy but can't remember any titles. It was great though because after I got bored it was time to take it back and get another one.

Cravings - I am embarrassed to admit I have been scarfing down DOUBLE Quarter Pounders from McDonald's -so gross - I am literally in the parking lot at McD's at 10:30am waiting for the menu on the drive thru to switch to lunch so I can order one. I have had 3 this week - so disgusting - I mean I love it while I'm eating it and then the guilt kicks in almost immediately - not good for me, not good for the baby - and I can't stop going.....

Break - I too am fiending for Disney - every year for the last 6 years we go y to Orlando the third week of May and hit all the parks, etc. This year we can't afford to go and last year was the first time we were totally rained out (16th - 23rd) I dont' mean the nice afternoon showers I mean total rain all day every day during our trip - so I feel like it has been even longer since I got to enjoy Disney - I thought scheduling the big u/s during the week we are usually gone would give me something to look forward to - and it does but it just is not the same!

Ok....whining over..for now ;)

This reminded me of an article I recently read about the "Mc10:35" sandwich. Apparently you go to McDonald's as the last of the breakfast is being sold and lunch is being started (around 10:35)....you then combine an Egg McMuffin and a McDouble sandwich. If that combo doesn't sound like the craving of a pregnant woman, I don't know what does!

I've never heard of mixing breakfast and lunch in one order - I love their hashbrown potato patty thingy.....:)

No, no limitations. My problem is that the normal video I do is 30 minute shred from Jillian Michaels. I tried it once pregnant - hah! It is just too much. I gave it to my sister to use for a while. I've been doing weights and walking, but I'd like a video for variety and to actually get cardio in. The library is a great idea - I just gave up on getting dvd's from our library because they are always so scratched they aren't playable. Maybe I'll just up my Netflix subscription a little and try some from there.

That does sound like a pregnant craving - but I have to say just the thought of it makes me gag

Have to vent! Some part on our water heater decided to break this morning and we have no hot water.... Lovely! We were able to get a repair guy out to look at it, but sadly they won't be able to get a replacement part until Monday... Ughh. I was able to take what I refer to as a 'bird bath' and wash my hair, but this is going to be a long and icky weekend.:sad2:

Sadly that intrigues me and disgusts me all at the same time! :rotfl:

I haven't really craved much that I never ate before, but I will go on food kicks. I've eaten so much fruit this pregnancy, it's crazy. I go through a 4-lb box of strawberries by myself in one week. I also eat more ice cream; I didn't dislike it before but I never ate much of it.

In other news, still on bedrest. Blood pressure is still high and bedrest alone is not bringing it down so I'm supposed to start medicine for it now. Now I have to have twice-weekly visits, non-stress tests, labs, etc. My dr also did the strep-b test this week, because they said that if labor starts after 36 weeks they won't stop it and so it was best to do the test a bit early and know now.
