Hi everyone! I'm so glad I found this thread! I'm expecting my second DS, and am due August 11th. :goodvibes

So far, all looks good with the little guy....well, big guy I guess. He's already measuring just over a week ahead. I just hope it's not indicative of having gestational diabetes, as I had this my last pregnancy. Is anyone familiar with GD? If you have it once, are you likely to have it with subsequent pregnancies? I take the one hour glucose test next week, so I guess I'll find out then.

Welcome!

Vette -- very glad to hear about no other symptoms. I'm sure your new DD is just fine.

I had a lovely (NOT) surprise waiting when I got home. The puppy got sick  in her house today. Lots of grass and sticks and stuff. I swear, someday she's going to eat something that isn't going to come out. The whole house reeked when I opened the door and I about lost it on the kitchen floor right there. I just assumed it was the big dog cuz she's the one with the weak tummy, but then there was no mess in the usual place... found it when I decrated the puppy... went back outside.... let DD7 swim in the 72 degree pool :cold: and called DH to come home and deal with it for me.

I know probably waay TMI... but no one else understands how stuff like that can set off the nausea.

Zachary was born late last night! I went into labor around 5am and got checked at the doctor at 8. They sent me over and I had my epi by about 10. I wasn't making a ton of progress so they broke my water. Still no more progress, so they added pitocin. When I was finally ready to push at 8pm, his head just stopped moving down. So...csection at about 10. Happy cinco de mayo! He was 7lbs 12oz and 21 inches. I'm crazy about him!

Hi everyone. I haven't looked at this in the last week. I haven't really wanted to think about abay stuff - had an u/s and the Dr. "thinks" its probably a boy. THAT MAKES 3! It was difficult news - I really want a girl, but it is what it is. It is still too early to really know, which the Dr. made a point of telling me, but I could see a little "thing" for myself. Oh well, maybe I'll have a fun surprise with the next u/s!

I have 3 friends and they all have 3 boys. They said they wouldn't trade it for the world. I'm sorry you didn't get the news you were hoping for........ Who knows, maybe it was too early. I read about how a girl looks like boys parts up until a certain week. Fingers crossed for you.

Hi Sunlover - I did cave and dye my hair around week 15 - I couldn't stand the gray...so I chose to believe the folks who say it is safe :thumbsup2

You must have the countdown going for June 7th - our u/s is scheduled for Tuesday May 18th....I am so excited to learn - I hope we continue the board's boy trend....

I'm going to dye it sometime soon. I can't hande the gray either. You can't see it when my hair is down, but if I put it in a pony tail, it is very noticeable.

I'm not sure if I want a boy or girl. As long as the baby is healthy, I don't really care. I've had my share of friends and relatives with complications lately so healthy is definitely on my mind a lot. DH wants a boy. I'm thinking girl though.

I hope you get what you wish for . :)

Sorry. I know how you feel. DD got the stomach flu at 11:00 last night. Let's just say I wasn't much help with the cleanup. I almost lost it a few times. UGH! I hope it is a short-lived flu and one that I do not get!

I think there are a few of us here who understand how you're feeling. :grouphug: You have this picture in your head of what it will be like and then the u/s tech blows the whole thing and you have to start over. But never fear, it will work out and be better than we all imagined. Hugs and more hugs.

Yeah, same thing in my extended family - all boys. I know I will love whatever I get eventually - just have to get over the initial disappointment.

Thanks. That is really great to hear. I feel pretty dismissed by my sister and SIL about the whole thing. They both have one of each, so they really don't get it, and can be pretty rotten about it. I have never had miscarraiges on ANY trouble getting pregnant, so I never try to pretend I understand what people who do are going through. Not sure why they don't offer me the same courtesy? With my last one my SIL actually intimated I would consider an abortion because it wasn't a girl! Can't even tell you how upset I was! Anyway, maybe TMI - thanks for letting me vent, and for the understanding! I know it will all be great in the end no matter what :)

WDWAurora: Congratulations!!!!!!

Nette: Yuck! That would have totally set me off. Last week on our cruise, DH decided to have a drink that he doesn't normally have, some different kind of whisky. OMG! I told him to drain it, quickly, before I puked all over. A couple we are friends with was with us, and she said that if she hadn't been pregnant before she would have thought I was just being a drama queen, but that she remembered how horrible and stomach-turning some of those smells were when she was.

I have my one hour glucose test tomorrow. I am NOT looking forward to it at all. I am so afraid I will get sick from drinking that stuff on an empty stomach!

Have a great day everyone!

I totally understand. DD had an accident and pooped on the floor *and* rubbed it in to the floor and sheets the other night. OMG.. awful. I dont know what was worse-- the poop, or the cleaner used to clean it up!!

Yay!! Congratulations! Can't wait to see pictures.

Yep... count me in on that one. I wanted another girl SO badly.

Okay ladies - what on earth is going on? I have been so looking forward to hitting 12 weeks and consequently the nausea and exhaustion subsiding. But this week I have spent more time hanging out in the ladies room than I have the prior 9 weeks!! Fortunately usually I just dry heave a little.....lots of saliva type thing. But this morning I was even lucky enough to throw up food too. GROSS!! Is this going to get better? Am I just being impatient? It just seems to be getting worse at the point it's supposed to be getting better and I'm really tired of it all (however I wouldn't trade it for the world, considering the reason :lovestruc)

I think that the whole 'morning sickness is over at 12 weeks' is a crock! With both of my pregnancies, I've been nauseous well past that. I felt queasy this morning.. at 22 weeks! I hope it ends for you soon. :goodvibes

Anyone have any weird food cravings? I haven't craved anything during my pregnancy until this week.. All I've wanted to eat this week are strawberry pancakes (strawberries baked in with strawberry syrup) and peanut butter on whole-wheat toast.... Not the healthiest things in the world to eat, but it's made me to drink lots of milk.
