Sara: I may have spelled it wrong. It's the DVC they are opening in Hawaii :)

Mrs. C: Yes, I'm sure you are worth it :) You only live once!

Here's pics of Alex's big boy bed, also from Ikea:

There's also a really cool picture of it here, that I can't seem to copy, but is similar to the set up of the bed in the store:

Pollito, no. The closest to us is Pittsburgh.. maybe a 2.5 hour drive from here. We're going Monday and I'm just going to play it by ear. The lady on the phone confirmed they had none of the dressers I wanted left *sigh*... I'm going to spend some time looking around, I might reevaluate the whole thing if that is the case. Or I might still do the changing table and crib in that color and just try to find a dresser that matches. Who knows! :rotfl:

Amy, where do you own?? I would LOVE to buy into the Hawaii resort but there is just no way that is realistic for us.
If my brother were staying in Australia, though, we might agree to all go in togheter- my parents, my brother and us. Then we could all meet up there and have a heck of a vacation together. That has been the plan so far... all of us meeting halfway. What a shame that halfway is Hawaii!! :lmao: It would be nice to have the points there for something like that but the only way it would be feasible for us...

I think I'm going to do resale at either Beach Club or Boardwalk. I love Boardwalk but love Beach Club's pool and it's super easy to walk to Boardwalk from Beach Club! So it'll probably be Beach Club. Got to do some more research. DH seems somewhat into the idea, but I'm trying not to push. I'm not looking to buy for another 2 years... lots of time to work it out!! woohoo.

Pollito, no way in heck would DH let me pull it from savings! I'm sorta glad because I'm so into the idea right now I'd do it in a hearbeat, but it's probably good he's leveling me out. He'll let me creatively finance to save the money over the next few years but he'd never pull it from savings. I think that money is earmarked for the end of the world! Or something as equally rare. Though if we did a resale we'd only need half... hmmm.. aah! I'm so bad. must.walk.away.from.dvc.websites!

Hi, I'm Nina! I am hopefully going to be a mom-to-be soon. My husband and I decided to wait until after our 1st wedding anniversary on March 28th to start having children, but I tacked on an extra month because we were going to WDW! Now I have one week left on birth control and then it's in the Lord's hands. My mom said it only took her two months after the pill to get pregnant with me, so I'm hoping it takes that 2 months or less. My husband and I are both in our late '20's, so we're ready to add a baby to our little family. My mom-in-law asks me like every week when I'm getting off the pill...LOL. She is ready also I have a grand-baby running around. I'm hoping to join this convo soon with some happy baby news! :dance3:

nina: welcome and good luck!

piecy: we own at bay lake. longest contract life when we purchased + currently the lowest maint. fees. we usually travel in off-season so the 11 month vs. 7 month booking window doesn't matter much to us. we actually don't care for bay lake (we love the boardwalk area and the point chart is steep), but if we stay there fine, the monorail will be great with little ones! most say but where you want to stay but the way the program is set up now and with our vacationing habits that didn't really matter to us, contract life and dues were more important, but that decision definitely varies from person to person :)

Hi Nina!! Welcome, hope you get your BFP soon!

As for DVC... I'm gonna pass. I know, I know. I'm weird. I kinda like Pop, and I like the CBR, and I want to do a "tour" of the resorts first. I crunched the numbers a few times, and it's just not the thing for us. We always seem to go when there's a discount or promo going on, so we go on the cheap, lol. That, and we want to do some non-Disney travelling too. I kinda want to do a tour of the Disney parks of the world! (Eventually, I'm not dragging two kids to Japan!)

I thought the smae hting when I initially looked into it.

DH is different than I am, though. He has zero interest in staying at any of the Values and he hated CSR when we went. He thought it was like Motel 6. Very strange, if you ask me.
He's also not so into hitting the parks everyday. He's more of a chill at the resort, spend time watching a movie, hang out by the pool, take it easy kind of vacation-er. I'm thinking DVC is good for us because of that... he'll get a better resort to relax in while we're not paying rack rate for the "nicer" resorts that he wants to stay at. I've obviously got details to work out but there is plenty of time in the next two years to do that. I may end up talking myself out of it, but I doubt it. Oh, and if I ever start teaching we'll be a slave to the school schedule (not that we wouldn't be when the kids are that age anyway) but I'm thinking that DVC will be nice to have then, too.

Yeah we're super-commandos. We sleep and shower in the resort! Dh tells me the stories of when he and his ex-gf went to WDW (way before he met me) and all she wanted to do was sit in the room... lol. He was *not* having it! lol

Don't get me wrong, I like nice resorts, but Disney's value and mods are just fine for us. I feel like a slob for saying it, but it's just how we are :)

Oh I loooooooooooove Ikea. We drove 3 hours to Atlanta specifically for an afternoon at Ikea two weeks ago. We ended up buying several of their Expedit bookcases and this bed for DD:

It's so cute, we love it!

That bed is so cute!!

So you're in GA too? Must be south GA if you had to drive 3 hours to get to Atlanta. I'm 45 min north of Atlanta. Nice to see another Georgian in the group!! :goodvibes

Oh, don't feel like a slob!! I stayed at GF once with my Aunt and was like .... uh. Why is this place so great?? :confused3 I didn't get it.
I have always stayed at POP except for the 1 trip with my husband, he refused to stay at any of the Values. So we did CSR and he didn't like it either.
You're totally not a slob, I'm right there with you! But if it makes him interested in Disney to stay in the nicer resorts, I'll just have to make the sacrifice.. :rotfl2:

Okay, sorry about that DVC interruption. :flower3: Tangents are allowed on here, right?? :rotfl:

Haha you poor thing, making sacrifices like that ;) The things we do for our husbands! lol :goodvibes

I don't get the GF either, the decor reminds me of a funeral home! :lmao:

DH tries to hide it sometimes that he's all into WDW, but then I'll be watching something or looking at something and he'll be like "I wannna go baaaaack." LOL. I seriously wish we had some sort of teleportation device!

Hmmm.. I just got a Kohls coupon in my email, I wonder if their Carters stuff is on sale. I just feel this overwhelming urge to shop for the little guy.

Not to interrupt the riveting DVC discussion (because I could talk about it all day... we have 200 pts at BCV)...

But why oh why am I hungry AGAIN? :confused3

Got a quick question for yall. I had my first appointment last wednesday and had all the routine blood work done. Will the doc call if there's anything wrong? I can't remember from my first DD. I swear I need to join worries annyomous. :)

Haha, I'm *always* hungry. This little man is making me so hungry!

Yeah they call if there's something wrong, but I'd call them for my own sanity! Sometimes it's just worth it to nag! lol

Haha, pregnancy is a time of almost constant worrying:laughing:...

Ohhh... I have Kohls cash. :rotfl: I got a "little brother" onesie there last week and a shirt that said "Little Brothers ROCK!" for Lucas.

We have been staying at Bonnet Creek (BC) and I love it! We need an extra bedroom for DD (stayed at CSR once and it was nice but too small). BC is on property (next to CBR) and not expensive. Way less expensive than DVC, which I love. Man I love Beach Club Villas! But for the price I am getting more space, without being further away than most of the other resorts. It makes sense for us at this time. We can stay for longer too. Which is so nice!

Oh cool! I'm going to look for that. I already have a 'big sister' shirt for DD.

I keep wondering about buying some short sleeve things for the baby. Sept is still kinda warm around here-- with the exception of 2009, which was just much cooler than usual. I have no clue how to dress a September baby! I'm thinking my RCS might even be in the last few days of August. DD was a July baby so that was easy-- just a onesie because it was *so* hot!

I've thought about Bonnet Creek but I love that darned dining plan. We never did a villa before, haha maybe I shouldn't, I'll get spoiled! :rotfl:

Lucas was June, easy to dress too!! I have no idea about my RCS. She said 40 weeks. Which is so weird to me. And I think her "procedure" days are Wednesdays, which would be 9/1.

I was going to head out. DS is teething and being a pain in the butt. Then he passed out. So I guess we'll stay unless he wakes up...
