Thanks yall. I'm due November 16th. You'd think since i've already had one DD that i wouldn't be as worried, but hey that's what i do.

EmALee-I'm 35 weeks today.
Hi ladies! Do you mind if I join in? I have a few questions that maybe someone can help me out?
First, congrats to everyone!
I'm only 10 weeks & 4 days along, due 10/22. I just had an ultrasound last night and the baby is measuring exactly where he/she should be and kicking up a storm with a strong heartbeat of 187.
I just turned 35 in January so I guess I'm considered "high risk" b/c of my age.
I have to go to the hospital at 12 weeks to get an ultrasound and the screenings for Down syndrome, etc. Has anyone had to do this? My last pregnancy was 8 yrs ago and I didn't have to do this, but I was only 27 at the time so I'm guessing this is a high risk thing b/c of my age?
I have to speak to a genetics counselor too?
I guess I'm just wondering if anyone else is over 35 and had to do this and what to expect. The paperwork has Level 2 high risk ultrasound and AMA circled on it. No idea what AMA stands for.
Hey everyone. I'm about 7 weeks along and tend to be a worrier. I just ate a deli sandwich for lunch without thinking. Can someone calm me down please?so i'll quite worrying about listeria. TIA.
I can feel him, and you can see his outline a good portion of the time. He is literally hugged around my middle. It's the oddest thing...Think vaguely like a boppy pillow, and that's how he is, only on the inside. He does seem a little more up and down today, but it's head up, not butt up. His head is typically just above and to the right of my belly button, but for part of today, he's had his head more centered above my belly button (although he seems to have turned back, because his little fist has been punching my right side, and he can't reach without being sideways). How do you know your little man hasn't turned?
There are some things you can do to try turning him. One of them is moxibustion if you have somebody that does acupuncture. There's also the ol' ironing board against the couch etc.
YAY! I'm glad you got to find out today! I have to say, finding out was wonderful, especially since they are so sure with boys! Congratulations on boy #2!!

Then we took Lukie
So things here are going alright. I got REALLY sick last week and ended up on L&D overnight because I was having contractions.
Bad weekend here. My beloved 8 month old puppy died suddenly and tragically. I miss her very, very much right now. DH bought her for me about a month after I had my MC, and she was the only thing that had made me smile in all that time at that point. I am just devestated.
My mom is driving me crazy, calling or texting at least once a day with a name suggestion. And I don't really like any of her suggestions, but she won't give up.
And then my step-dad (who is probably only half serious) starts suggesting stuff like Julius or Othello. Please shoot me.
.......
Tomorrow is my dad's probate hearing !
girl name (but not on how it should be spelled): Laney Elizabeth. DH says Lani, I say Laney or Lainey. Again, no significance, we just like the name.
Well I found out this past weekend that my OB is closing her practice as of June so now I have to find a new doctor. Not only that....but there is only one other in-network doctor in my town who I seriously dislike so won't be going to him. So now I'm going to end up about 30 minutes from home to have the baby....which is doable....but 5 minutes from home is a lot nicer for everyone involved!
I don't think it's super popular here though - I have never met a little boy named Jacob - just tons of Jadens - that seems to be the name of choice here.

I've had a headache since last Friday afternoon. It started as a migraine, then started to go away that night, but then DS accidentally bumped heads with me and it started hurting all over again. And I woke up with the headache again on Saturday. And every day since.
DH says his head hurts too, like sinuses, so I'm thinking (hoping) that could be it for me too. But what can I take? Tylenol doesn't seem to do anything for me.
It's a girl!!
DH is in soo much trouble! Not only will we have all the teenager drama, but he's got two Disney weddings to pay for.![]()
Ughhhh I'm getting sickies today. I can't stop coughing and I have this annoying tickle in my throat. If I have a hard cough, I automatically puke. Fun! I have nothing I can take and it's killing me.
Being pregnant and sick is the worst!
I cry about the stupidest stuff these days...
Ughhh.... I just love having negative blood. Not!
.
Anyone else having trouble finding decent maternity clothes that don't look tent-like??? I don't know what it is, but everything is soooo long (and I am fairly tall at 5'7"). I tend to carry small so maybe that's the problem. I actually resorted to just buying tops in a larger size but pants are an issue......and I hate to spend lots of money on clothes that will only be worn for a few months...UGH
We had the nuchal translucency scan done at 12 weeks. You can google it. It is a check for down syndrome. The scan results combined with blood work at 18 weeks will give you a percentage/chance of downs. I was 1/50 due to my age but after the tests I was 1/500. We had to meet with a genetic counsellor prior and my only risk factor for anything was my age. To know for sure you would need an amnio.
Remember that everything is a choice and you don't have to do any tests etc. you are not comfortable with. We opted for this u/s because it was non invasive. I would never have an amnio though. Because my blood work was good and the u/s was within normal range that issue never came up.
OMG I miss so much being sick!! Eeep! Sick + pregnant = horrible. I'm coughing so hard I'm puking!
Welcome new girls!!Glad you could join us!
OK I need to collapse now![]()
It is SO nice to know! My BFF (due 9/28) didn't want to find out but has since changed her mind! It would be so hard not to know, at least imho. I couldn't do it!
I'm excited!! Now I can focus on clearing out the guest room and making it a nursery for a little boy. I'm re-using the changing table and glider from DS1.. so I just need a crib and other assorted little items. And to pick out bedding!
I'm beginning to think the hospital only employs one radiology tech. I had the same girl for all 4 ultrasounds with DS, the one with my gallbladder and now both ultrasounds with this baby. She knows me well, they've all been within the last 14 months.![]()
Anyway- she asked if I wanted to know, I said I'd like to try to guess and she let me. She didn't even have to tell me what I was looking at- I saw the stuff and said "Boy" and she laughed and said "Yep, you're getting good at this!"
It's been a rough few days here. We live in RI and we have had record rainfall. Our basement not only flooded, but we got a huge crack in our foundation and water is pouring in like crazy. We have 3 pumps going and we are barely keeping up. DH was away until last night so I had to call 911 when the crack happened because it too much for me to handle. Miraculously, the fire dept pumped me out and set me up until DH got home. Then we lost power for an hour and all the hard work was down the drain....literally because the water came in so quickly. We are doing better today but the river near us still has not crested so we are keeping our fingers crossed. UGH![]()
Hi everybody.
I just have one hand to type with at the moment but wanted to pop on and tell you that we had our baby girl on March 18, 1120 hours. 7lbs 10oz, 20.5"
Oksana Iryna
Everybody is doing great.
A strange sequence of events happened that led to a quick but wonderful home birth. I got hit hard with the flu on Tues night. Laid in bed all day Wed. Got up Thurs wanting a bath and toast to eat. Felt "funny" and called my midwife then called her back 10 min later. She came over and checked me and I was 5cm dilated with a bulging bag of waters. I had no idea.
DH and I then sat side by side on the couch in peace and quiet and he rubbed my back every minute or so. We were so connected. Midwives had already set up so they sat at the dining room table and did paperwork and checked my BP and baby's HR every so often.
Water broke and there was meconium in it. Because of that EMS were called. They stood by while I pushed baby out....8 pushes? One of them even held my leg...LOL DH rubbed my head and held my hand. I love him so much for just knowing what I needed.
Since people are ading each other on FB, you can PM me to add me if you like.
Allison - Congrats!!
Ryan Bradford made his appearance Monday, March 22 @ 9:58AM. 7lbs 15oz at 20.5 inches. He was 39 weeks.
We are doing well. I keep having people bring me the wrong USB cable for my camera so now new pictures yet ... sorry!!
This one was in recovery ... about a hour after he was born.

The RCS was amazing ... by far the right choice. It was weird but it was great. Recovery is going well ... I'll be here until Thursday. Hopefully I'll get the RIGHT USB tomorrow to get more pic up.
Hi Ladies!
Well, I certainly have had an interesting few days. We originally had a c-section scheduled for 3/25. We had a shower at DHs office on wed 3/17 and an 8am dr. appt for Thursday 3/18.
We went into our appt (for a biophysical profile) and she wasn't passing the test, we weren't overly concerned because she never really passed the tests. At our previous appt, they said that the only way I would deliver before the scheduled date is if my amniotic fluid level dropped significantly. So the tech finished with us and we waited for the dr. And waited. And waited. He walked in and said that my fluid level dropped a lot and we needed to go upstairs immediately and have an emergency c-section. We were both really upset and scared (because we weren't ready or prepared for this). We didn't have anything, the suitcase with my super special gown and the camera were all at home. I didnt even have socks on. DH went down to the gift shop and we bought a disposable camera that we used for the first few hours. We were upstairs by 10, I was in the OR by 11:45 and our beautiful Penelope Rose was born 3/18/2010 at 12:11pm. She weighed 4lbs 2oz and was 17 inches long.
The c-section was okay. Not as scary as I thought. The prep was much scarier, I did not like having a spinal. I was able to hold her shortly after she came out and then she and my husband went to check into the NICU while I was being finished. DH met me in the recovery room. He got to go back down to the NICU to see her about an hour later and about 2 hours after that, they wheeled me down in my stretcher so that I could go see her. I was able to hold her and put her to my breast and she tried to suck a little, which was good.
I was released from the hospital on Saturday night and little P will be there for at least another few weeks while she learns how to regulate her temp and can take a bottle (right now there is a feeding tube). We are allowed to visit her as much as we'd like and we try to go for every feeding.
She's a beautiful little girl with a full head of brown hair and big blue eyes. We are allowed to dress her in her own clothes (right now she has a perfect little sleeper with frogs on it, so cute!!) and wrap her in her own blankets, which is nice that she gets to wear her own things. We can bring her books and read her stories too, so we do that at night and she seems to like it.
We're so excited to be able to bring her home!
