Moms to be Part 4

Well ladies the horror of all horrors struck this weekend. I've got what I'm pretty sure are hemorrhoids. My poor but just aches all the time. I've been using the witch hazel but it wasn't doing much. Today added Preparation H and I really hope it starts working soon. It's painful if I sit, stand or even lie down. So I'm sore and grumpy today. I sent DH and DD out for a night out so I could just lie down and rest my poor but. The worse thing is I wasn't even constipated, but I have developed more varicose veins in my legs this pregnancy. It's a first time for painful hemorrhoids for me though. I am praying I don't have to suffer for the rest of the pregnancy with this.

Ouch! Sorry, that really stinks, hope you get some relief soon!

I had my 20 week ultrasound today and everything looks great.

The baby cooperated and we were all shocked to learn it's a BOY!

We all thought girl for sure. It was very obvious we were wrong.

Well congratulations! Little boys are tons of fun and love their mommies so much!

Other than that the pregnancy is going well. Tomorrow is my DD's last day of grade 4. Life seems to be good.

So sorry temair! I had them for 2 days and headed straight for the preparation H and they are gone, for now!!! My problem is HEARTBURN!!! Crazy the last 3 days!

I went to my 24 week appointment today and my OB said that this baby is measuring large and that I am looking at a 10 pounder :scared1: My DD was 9# 6 oz. so I shouldn't be too shocked but still, he seemed surprised!!! Yikes!

Have you tried a warm bath with Epsom salts? That's what I've been doing... seems to make everything better in a day or two. Also make sure you're SUPER dry before putting clothes on.

OUCH! I had them after my first pregnancy and they were horrible. Did you try taking a warm bath? My doctor told me to ask the nurses at the hospital for a sitz bath. They said they don't have those anymore, but from what I understand you sit in a donut type thing filled with water. So, maybe taking a bath will help? Or just letting the hot water in the shower hit the area for awhile? Sorry, hope you feel better.

Seriously? They had one for me when I had DD... Of course, I wasn't using it for the "traditional" reason. They filled it w/ warm water and I sat in it so I could pee post-catheter (we had tried about 50 other things first). It's just a bowl that sits over the toilet and then you sit on the seat and it soaks your backside.

Yay! We had the same surprise... and shock. But now I can't wait to meet my son!

Hello, ladies!

Sorry I haven't been here in a while. I hope everyone is doing well, and congratulations to those who have given birth recently!

We've had a lot of change in our lives lately. A little over a month ago, we very unexpectedly lost my mom. We're still dealing with that, and our own individual grieving processes while trying to prepare for the birth of our newest pirate.

I had a great ultrasound yesterday where we got to see that indeed, all the parts are healthy and in the right places, and that he already has hair, and some very full looking lips! I looked at my husband and said, that's all you. :lmao:

I have had some high blood pressure (it's been better lately), but we're not really sure if it's from the stress of my mom's passing or actually pregnancy induced hypertension, so I'll be going to have non stress tests twice weekly now, and another ultrasound in a month. Better safe than sorry, that's for sure.

Anyway, just wanted to check in and wish you all well. :goodvibes

Temair: Hope you get some relief soon.

sunlover: yeah for a boy!

Tarzanskat: Sorry to hear about your mom. Hugs for you.

Everything is up in our nursery except my valences, which I am calling about today (ordered over two weeks ago on ebay). Once they get here and get put up, I will post pictures.

I have had this horrid pain in my back everytime I am at work, which has been getting progressively worse and is making ten hour days difficult to do. It is usually in full force by 10 AM and is so awful I can't even think after a while, much less accomplish anything. It also becomes a full fleged migrane by the time I get home everynight. I thought it might be related to my bra so I am going without (I used bandaids, LOL, and am small there anyway) and it seems to be working, though I still feel some tightness in that spot. No one ever comes in here anyway and no one else works in my office so...

Have a great day everyone!

Hopefully, the baby will slow down. They told my friend she was looking at a 10lber and he ended up being 8lbs 6oz. Good luck!

That's what they said. Maybe I'll get a different answer this time around. :)

I don't mean to laugh b/c you are in pain, but the bandaids, no bra thing is cracking me up! :rotfl2:

Big baby, but not too much bigger than your DD.

We just saw our DD last week in 3D, and she already has hair too! Have you had much heartburn?

I'm with sunlover....I don't want to be mean, but the band-aid thing is too funny! :rotfl: Seriously though, do you have a desk job? Did you make sure everything is ergonomically correct? It's amazing what a difference that can make.

Oh, I don't care...I thought it was funny too. I have changed bras, everything I can think of and it hasn't helped so bandaids it is...it's working a little, but I don't know how much

Pollito: Yes, I do have a desk job. I'll have to go back and read your post on the correct posture etc. from a couple of months back. I've been trying to sit better and more correctly to see if it helps :)

Hope everyone is having a great day!

Irisbud- can't wait to see the nursery pics - and the bandaids made me chuckle...:)

Ten hour days, god bless you! I work part time and have had my schedule reduced even further. I was doing a nine and a half hour day that was killer, so I'm glad that's gone. I hope you feel better soon.

I'm so sorry for your loss.

I'm glad everything looks good with the baby.

Thank you very much! And yes, he's looking great. :thumbsup2

We just saw our DD last week in 3D, and she already has hair too! Have you had much heartburn?

I've never seen a 3D ultrasound, those must be so cool!

I haven't had any heartburn yet...knock on wood...but I have a host of other issues to make up for it. :lmao:

So sorry for your loss. I hope that you have peace knowing that your mom is watching your son grow...Take care!

Thank you very much. I feel like we have a wonderful guardian angel on our side, and although we'd rather have her here, it's like Darryl Hannah's character in Steel Magnolias says, "I pray real hard to make heads or tails of it...and I feel much better knowing someone like Shelby is up there on my side..." Something to that effect.

I'm so sorry to hear about your mom.

Thank you.

Thank you very much.

Is it too early to be nesting?

Because if not, I so am. In the past couple of weeks, I've felt this overwhelming push to get everything organized, almost like time is slipping away from me, even though I'm due at the end of July.

I think part of it is that my family so desperately needs something positive to focus on, and this baby is such a blessing in that regard.

I had DH move around our furniture in the bedroom this weekend so we can fit the crib in there, and I've already washed a ton of clothes and got those in a bureau all set up. The next thing will be to get some of the little toiletry type items for the changing station, and finish up the baby blanket I started for him.

It feels good to make progress though. :goodvibes

Tarzanskat: I don't think it would be too early to be nesting. I think I already have been in some ways as well. All of the sudden, I feel as though all of these things in my life have to be in perfect order before baby arrives. That is such a sweet thought about your mother being a special guardian angel. I really believe in that kind of thing.

Third trimester starts today. sometimes I feel like it has flown by so far, other times like I have been pregnant forever!

Have a great day everyone!

I feel the same way. I just have certain things that I want set up...well, pretty much yesterday, you know what I mean?

My husband is a bit superstitious (I have no issue with it) and does not set up the basinette or crib until after the baby is safely home. This is very common in his family, so I run with it. That doesn't mean, however, that I can't get a whole bunch of other things ready in advance! :goodvibes

I do, too. My sister feels that all the souls (whether on earth or otherwise) co-mingle in heaven, regardless of whether you've been here, or if you're waiting to be born. She thinks my mother and grandfather are up there, training my little one right now.

And if that's true, I'm screwed! :rotfl2:

I feel that way as well. I have days where I think this is going by in the blink of an eye (especially because I'm fairly certain this will be our last), and other days where my joints are so achy and my back hurts so much, I think, ugh, when will this end?

Politto, what did you say about posture? Mine is awful and really causing me problems. And I've only gained 16 lbs. Eeek!

We had our 29w U/S today and it went well. First, she is still a she. Thank God because I can't be finding out it's a boy NOW! :scared1:

Second, she looked right up at the probe so we have a neat, albeit slightly frightening face shot. That's the one of the left. A nice profile pic on the right. And we have a great girl parts shot, but I'll refrain from posting that one out of respect for her modesty. Actually she had no modesty - she obviously takes after me. :rotfl:

We get to schedule our section next visit which is exciting. But what is not exciting is that I heard today one of my student's moms may have used our baby name for her son born yesterday. Not a big deal if you live in a big city, but I don't! It's not a terribly common name I've picked and to have 2 in the same class is not what I want. So if she did, back to the drawing board which will kill me! It took months to pick this one. So cross your fingers she didn't use it.

Hope everyone is having an easy pregnancy!

Hi Vettechick!

Awesome ultrasound photos, congrats on it still being a girl!

You may think it's funny, but at my ultrasound on Monday, the tech pointed out the appropriate parts, and I said, "still a boy, huh?" :lmao: We like to make sure in my family, too. :thumbsup2

Just popping in to say Hi ladies!! No time to catch up now but will come back later on. Hope everyone is doing well.:grouphug:

Thanks! We'd decided not to do 3-d again, but if we had it would have been a good day for it with her facing up. And yes, we sure don't need to be finding out this late in the game the sex has been wrong the whole time. Eeeek!!
