Moms to be Part 4

Well ladies...I went to the doctor this morning. And to my suprise but what do I see on the counter and the exam table...pelvic exam items. Um. Thanks for letting me know that was happening today! Turns out it was just the Strep B test...which wasn't that bad.

I also asked my doc about my due dates because my U/S's tell me one date and he has another. I guess he feels more comfortable with the earlier one due to my growth and everything. So....Patsy I have to ask that you change it again, sorry! :confused3 It's May 22 for sure this time.

I hope everyone is having a good day!

This weekend was the March of Dimes/March for Babies and it was so much harder this year than in the past! In the past, DS had been small enough to put in the stroller and just go. Now this year, he wanted to walk parts of it, and probably walked about 1 mile total! :thumbsup2 But the rest of the time I had to push his 30lbs around in the stroller, which is not nearly as easy as it used to be! And one of the stroller wheels is squeaking, which was so annoying. I will definitely have to get that fixed before DL!

One adorable things DS did during the walk, we were both walking along, about mile 2 or so, and he said, "Mama?" So I responded, "Yeah baby?" And he said, "I love you Mommy" So sweet, a couple people turned around and just said, "Aww, that was so cute!" Sometimes 3 year olds are so sweet!

This was the same little boy that started crying and pouting before the walk even began because he dropped a toy jet and we couldn't find it. Then after the walk, there was a kid's play area with those blow-up jumpy house things. We were in line for one, when I noticed there were those little round prickly seeds all over the mat on the ground, so I told DS to watch where he steps. He started crying and said he wants to go home. So we got out of line and I tried to put his shoes back on, but he started crying again and said he wanted to go in the jumpy house. But he was scared of the prickly things, so I carried him. Ugh, he's heavy.

And there was nobody monitoring the line, so kids kept cutting in front of the girl in front of us and the line kept getting longer and longer. The little girl was young, probably 3-4 and the other kids were older 7-10, so I finally had enough and tapped one on the shoulder and told them to go to the back of the line. Finally, it was DS's turn and the attendants offered to help him in, but he wouldn't go. :confused3 After waiting in line twice, the boy wouldn't go. He had been in one before, so I'm not really sure why, but we left.

We went to get a hot dog and were sitting at a picnic table eating them, watching some mariachi's perform. A man sat down at the opposite end of the table from us and DS started crying, b/c he doesn't know the man and doesn't want him sitting there. He said that Daddy would get mad. I finally convinced him that the man wasn't talking to him or trying to hurt him, and I am there to protect him, so we finished the hot dogs and went home!

It was a really exhausting day and it was only 10:30 AM!! We went home and played for a little bit, then went upstairs to my room to watch Cars, and DS fell asleep about 20 minutes into it, by 12:30, when normal nap time is 2 or 3. So I turned off the tv and took a nap too. ;) And we slept til 3:30. :cloud9:

DH had to work all weekend, even though he was supposed to be off yesterday, he ended up getting called in for 5 hours in the middle of the day. So it was extra tiring watching DS all weekend when I was a little sore from the walk. When DH finally got off work on Sunday, we went to Famous Dave's for dinner, which just opened last week, and we had been missing it since there were more by our old house. So delicious!

How was everyone else's weekend?

Yuck, surprises like that are never fun! Yay for the new due date - you only have 1 month left!

Well ladies, I have to laugh, because they say that we make plans and God laughs...My little boy decided to go head down! As in, I could completely feel him head to butt this morning, and got very uncomfortable in the car on the way home from work today. That was apparently him worming his way into position. Sooo...now we're back to waiting for him to enter the world in the traditional manner (with an epidural, of course). Unbelievable. This was confirmed on ultrasound. He was still stubborn and wouldn't show his face (wouldn't at 18 or 22 weeks, either). He weighs about 7lbs, 2oz, and is at the 55th%ile. Not bad!

Now we wait! Oh, and surprisingly, no cervical today. They said since I was still closed last week, no reason to check this week. Seems weird. I thought they did it every week after 36, and I'll be 38 tomorrow. I did pass the strep test from last week.

Aurora - can't believe you are at 38 weeks now. Seems like just yesterday you were showing us embryo pics. I've been lurking here to see how my fellow TTC group is doing. I hope everything continues to go well for you.
I had my son in the "traditional" manor. He was 9.5lb when he was born. All I can say is THANK GOD for epiderals. I didn't feel a thing. They just told me when to push.

Aurora, I'm so glad he turned!!

We are at WDW right now. It's not bad visiting pregnant! My back hurts a little bit, and I'm a little more tired than usual, but overall it's about the same. DH is riding the fun stuff and I'm hanging out with DD who is too small to ride them anyway.

Hope everyone is well!!

Good grief he's killing me right now! I bet the little booger is down there turning back. Ugh. He's going to have to stop this or we're going to have to go to L&D tonight to get them to check me out...

Well, I was going to celebrate him turning, but now it looks like we'll have to wait and see! Little guy causing so much trouble and he's not even born yet - definitely not a good sign!

Glad you're having a good time!! We'll be at DL in a few weeks, so I'm glad the experience won't be too bad. How tall is your DD? We think DS is between 38-39" so he might be able to get on some of the "bigger" rides.

YAYYY!! That's about what DD was too, 55th percentile. :cutie:

Oh fun! I'm so jealous. I wanna be at WDW!

Well hopefully he will stay turned. I had my DD like a day shy of 38 weeks so it could be any day. I'm so excited for you.

I want to be in Disney.....I was scheduled to go 5/8-5/12 but my friend backed out (which is okay I completely understand) so then I was just going to go ahead and go just me and Sammi....but she doesn't want to go with just me because she won't be able to ride any of the fast rides like RNRC. I had thought about going alone....but decided against that too....well I think I have decided against it - I haven't cancelled my room yet :)

Well I went by to get my initial OB bloodwork done (they hadn't done it at the RE's office) and I mentioned that I would really like to be able to have an appointment before 4 weeks hoping to get one sooner.....they did one better....the doctor did a quick scan today. It was such a pleasant surprise :cloud9: And this was my first time to actually see this doctor and I LOVED her. She was great (besides just sneaking a scan in)....she was totally understanding about my anxiety after having had a miscarriage and told me to go ahead and make an extra appointment in two weeks. Of course she told me to keep the original appt.....so I'll end up with appts a little over a week apart, but I'm good with that.

Hope everyone is having a great day!
Amanda

Amanda - I'm glad that your doctor was so understanding and willing to help reassure you. That's definitely a good doctor to keep! :thumbsup2

Question for you all - are any of you named Hannah or Naomi IRL? I have some new Facebook requests from people, I don't think I know, unless it's you ladies. :goodvibes

I have a fairly common married last name, but a very rare maiden name, which I use on FB, so it seems odd that people I don't know would be contacting me there

I don't think I'd have cancelled the room either! I'd hang on for that last glimmer of hope of getting to WDW!

That's great about your new OB! She sounds like a gem, hang on to her!

Nope, not Hannah or Naomi. I'm not even on Facebook :)

YAY my chinese food just got here. I broke down and ordered a late lunch/early dinner for DD and myself. DH is working late, so I figured we'd splurge. That and I can't stand anythign we have in the house. I'd barf if I ate another heated-up turkey or ham sandwich. :crazy2:

Darn it, they gave me a pint of pork fried rice instead of lomein. Oh well.

I've just had it today. I want to nap SO badly!

Ya know, I have no idea how tall she is! But I know she's not 40" which I think is cut-off right? So we just hang out while DH runs off to the single rider lines.

Oh fun! I'm so jealous. I wanna be at WDW!

I'm jealous!!! I hope you're having fun :)

Thanks! We're having a lot of fun. Every time we take her (this is her 4th trip), she enjoys it more. Especially at this age. Three is a great time to go...and I know it only gets better from here.

DD's going to be just shy of 3.5 on our trip in December, but I don't think she's going to be 40". Darn these short genes! I know she's going to have a blast though, it only gets better every trip. (Lucky kid has been there 3x!)

WDWorBust: I wouldn't have cancelled the room either! I'm glad your OB is nice and understanding. Mine is too, though I'm certain he secretly thinks I am insane, LOL.

I went to the DR yesterday for my appt I made when I was worried somethng was wrong and everything was great. Heartrate was 140BPM. I was worried about having a lot of pressure on my cervix, so they did an internal ultrasound and said that everything was perfect there, so I am breathing alot easier. I was really worried about having a major problem while we were on our cruise in the middle of the ocean. I probably looked a little foolish but oh well. He said it was never silly to call, but that it was silly to look up symptoms and worry over nothing!

We leave tomorrow and I have barely packed. DH is mad because I want to take two checked bags total (one for each of us) and he doesn't want to have to pay the extra $30 RT. We knew we would have to have one, but I thought we could do with just that but it will be really tough. DH is an avid Southwest fan because he hates paying to take luggage. I did American this time because even if we took two bags each roundtrip it was still over $150 cheaper than Southwest. I guess he would rather pay that, silly man.

Puppy is doing great! No accidents in the house at all (knock on wood), and only needs to go out once in the middle of the night every night. He passed his vet check yesterday with flying colors and made friends with everyone in the vets office (which is good; they HATE my older dog. He is a perfect gentleman every where else, but I am not allowed to bring him to the vet without DH he is so bad!). I am going to miss him terribly while we are gone even though I know he will have fun with Grandma and Grandpa!

Have a great day everyone!
