Moms to Be Part 3

How old will the baby be?? Shoot, if all the family could go, I'd push for it :) We're going with all 4 kids, my parents and my sister and BIL next month, and Ella will barely be 2 months old... but it was a time we could all go (and honestly, I don't know if my dad will be able after this year as it is...)

She'll be about 6 months. But we'll probably wait until next summer at the earliest. I want to get to know her traveling personality a little bit closer to home first. There are a bunch of theme parks around here, so we'll likely try those out next summer along with the zoo and things and then go to WDW in 2011...ACK! :scared::sick: I've been to WDW at least once every year since my first trip in 2003.

I told DH we should just leave her with my parents (and all the other relatives that live within about 10 minutes of my parents) and go ourselves, but he thought that was even more crazy. :lmao:

I honestly need a Disney break. My last two trips have been less than stellar and both times I came home saying that no matter what I needed to remember that I need a break--I need to go somewhere else.

I failed my 1 hour, but passed my 3hr. It was not fun, though.

Harleyquinn, we get out for Christmas on Dec. 18 this year, and I'm seriously considering booking a girls' trip (ds11 says he would rather stay home and hunt with his daddy:sad1:). I went Thanksgiving 2007, and the Christmas touches were incredible. We left Thanksgiving Day, so I missed all the Epcot stuff. I'd love to go from the 18th until the 23rd.

Wow, you are so close. :cheer2: I will be 31 weeks Friday and I am now starting to freak out a bit. I keep thinking... What if she comes early and I am not ready. OMG!!!

I know-the time has really flown by. But I'm ready- I'm so tired of work. We had another bomb threat today-3 days in a row. Then we had 3 fights before we could get to 1st pd (luckily the cops were still there). Then they pulled the LEP (hispanic) kids out again for testing. And they had a blood drive (which is great, but it didn't have to be this week!). I walked in my 7th pd, which should have 17 kids, and had 6 kids in the room. I'm working my butt off to get kids ready for state test next week, and I'm fighting a losing battle. I'm ready to just give up.

I went for Christmas this (last) year with my mom. We were there the 12-17 I think...I had a horrible trip, I think i told you all about it. I was 8 weeks preggers and really sick and I missed DH like crazy. My dream of going to WDW for Christmas was a failure, because I was just horrible to be around. So I got to see most of everything, but I was too busy worrying about my mom in an ECV to really LOOK at anything. We both decided that if we ever go again together that we'd split up a lot of the time, because I just can't tour around as slowly as she goes...of course a 6 month old would change things, but at least I could keep food down! lol

I was thinking the 18-22 or 24th since the 23rd is like the number one travel day.

It would either be just me, dd9, and the baby, and we'd do princessy stuff that she still loves and enjoy the sites while doing the smaller rides. Or we'd take my sister and her son (7)-I've mentioned it to her. If ds11 won't go, we'd all fit in a value room so we'd get by cheaper. All this depends on a great deal (like free Disney Visa dining-one of my coworkers got in on that last Christmas), and I probably won't be able to afford it anyway! My sister has never gone, so I'd like a trip with her. And we could do child swap and ride some bigger rides.

We are going next summer, so I'm trying not to stress over it. I haven't been since Thanksgiving 2007. We did DL last year, and it was nice, but not the same. Especially since I was surrounded by in-laws, who told me to plan the trip then wouldn't go along with anything I wanted them to do!!!!!!!

So my bff had her first real DRs appointment today and she told me she'd text me with her due date, but she hasn't...I know I shouldn't worry at this point--they probably went to dinner and just forgot, but it would be horrible if they...I can't even think it...

I should probably call her, but if it is bad news the last person you want to talk to is a pregnant one...i think...sigh...

That sounds great! When are you going next summer? Got a month picked out? We usually go in August and the crowds are much better.

We are pretty limited as to when we can go. We get out of school end of May, and go back first week of August. Ds11 plays baseball, and they play until mid July. So we are going the 3rd week of July. I know it is hot, but we live in MS, so hot in July is nothing new for us. We went in July 2006 (our 1st trip) and it was cooler in Orlando than it was at home. The baby will be around 14 mos then, and should be alot of fun to watch!princess:

Gotcha...DH doesn't go back to school until the end of August, so we usually try and go the week they start value season (and hopefully free dining or something fabulous). I've gotten pretty used to the heat and humidity--we just go back to the room and crash in the afternoon. My mom refuses to go in August, so if we do go next year, it'll just be the 3 of usm, which is what I want for our first family trip anyway. Maybe we can even stay in a deluxe...or rent points or something...hehehe, but I need a break! lol

DH just called (I'm at work)...he talked to our bfs and he said that my bf is just super early like 6 weeks, so they still aren't completely sure of the due date. Had me all worried for nothing. :woohoo:

That is great about your friend.

I've already booked a townhome in Windsor Hills for 2010. It has 3 bedrooms and 3 baths, and a small pool. Dh will be much happier there. He has never gone with us. He agreed to go to do the space center, and to play golf. I plan to use him for babysitting!:rotfl: He can drop us off in the mornings, go play golf while we collect fps and do stuff the baby can do, then pick us up around lunch or early afternoon. Then the older kids and I can go back to the parks to do the big rides and fireworks, while he and Katie rest at the house.

I went Dec. 17th-24th in 2005 and Dec. 16th-23rd in 2006 with my brother.
2007 I just did MVMCP and DTD (brother moved to Orlando that year so I just visited for the week before and week of Christmas).
Instead of buying park tickets we explored all the hotels, something we'd always wanted to do but never wanted to miss the time in the parks. Him living there changed that-- seeing all the chocolate stuff they make at Christmas at the resorts was a lot of fun! We spent almost all day exploring.

The parks weren't bad. Most of my pictures you can tell, the first few days anyway, it was dead. You notice that it picks up but we just made sure to do the super important stuff first and then enjoy the sights and stuff as the week came to a close and it got crazy busy.
We actually loved coming home Christmas Eve the first year (thats when my family celebrates) because the airports were dead. We expected chaos, but saw much worse the next year when we came back the 23rd. :thumbsup2

They really weren't bad at all. I've been in April, March, July, the two times in December, and September-- the July, April and March trips were definitely the worst! :scared1:

Sounds like heaven. We've only ever stayed on site, but I'm looking forward to a big family trip with my parents and us. My dad has something about him that makes me nicer, so that's a good thing--I tend to get cranky when things don't go exactly like I want them to, which I fear will happen a great deal more with a baby! :lmao:

Hopefully there will be another year where Christmas falls on a Friday and then we can go. We'll definitely come back on Christmas Eve. I've read tons of reports that it's a much better day to fly.

Definitely was better than the 23rd!

... after thinking about my trip with my brother I popped over to Facebook to leave him a message and his status is "At Disney World" :headache:
I wanna live in Orlando. :sad1:

I hate that...when you find out friends or family members are pregnant, and it's in the early stages...because miscarriage is so common, sometimes you are afraid to ask questions.......
Glad everything is going good for them :)

I've only stayed onsite, but I've only been twice. We stayed at AllStar Sports both times. Dh doesn't want anything to do with WDW, and staying in one room with 3 kids would not make him happy! The house I booked has a pack n play and high chair, and other baby stuff, so I think it will be fine. It was only around $89 a night, too!!!!!

When we flew home on Thanksgiving in 2007, the airport was dead. I'll probably do the 22nd, though, since I'd hate for there to be a delay and miss Christmas Eve with my family!

OMG you guys!
Our contractors are finally DONE!!!!! :dance3::yay::banana::cool1:

Now we have 2.5 weeks to move the office to the basement, clean up the house AND work on the baby's room... :lmao:
Talk about cutting it close eh?

I can't wait to have this baby finally. My belly, back and tailbone are begging for mercy right now... Especially with all the cleaning and stuff I've been doing, they are not happy... :rolleyes1

Morning all,

Hope everyone is feeling well and has a great day!

A little nesting has kicked in and I have been a little productive the past two days around the house. I have alot more I want to do. Today I am going to try to clean DS's bedroom closet and find somethings I need for Emma.

Congrats!!
I got my nursery all done and set up (stuff on the built-in shelves, etc.) when I realized we're going to HVAC people in there May4th-8th who will be ripping out all the drywall in the nursey closet to run new ductwork and return air to the attic. :headache:

Sooo.. I've inherited your drywall dust for now! :rotfl:

Had my checkup this morning. Belly measures 34 weeks so she's hopeful that Lucas is on the small end of what the US are saying (since they're -/+ a lb) but I'll have another ultrasound in 3 weeks to check his size and we'll make a decision for delivery.

I still get amazed by the way they measure our bellys and can gauge things. You would think we are all shaped so darn diff.

How many U/S have you had? I get jealous, it seems like everyone has had so many more than us. I just had one at the very beginning to determine my due date and a 2nd at 20 weeks for the sex.

Boy time is really flying, you are getting close which means I follow .

cseca- take it easy-- but YAY for the contractors being done! hopefully youll get a lot of help so when the baby comes-- all you have to do is relax and enjoy!

piecey- GL with the wall dust-- i dont envy you a bit!

The organizing thing has kicked in for me as well. We re-did our guest bedroom and changed the full size bed to a queen bed (im sure with this baby coming we will be expecting more visitors... and a bigger bed will be necessary). I have full size mattress and box springs in the babies room right now that I need to get rid of. DH just wants to take them to the dump (They were his from when he was a child-- and sure, they've been pee'd on a time or two, but they are still good for those who cant afford anything). So im wondering what to do with them-- and where to take them. Maybe i could put them in craigslist under free or something.

Ive really been thinking about this drop down side you guys are talking about on the crib. I am short (we are talking 5'2'' short!). I made a comment to DH that the dresser/changing table was so high i couldnt imagine changing a baby on it-- its not really really high-- but, still, higher than what would be normal for a vertically challenged person like myself. And the crib is high too. Maybe we do need the drop down side!? I just cant find any that I like that are like that (not that ive really been hunting- maybe I should).
