You can officially remove my name from the due date list. I went to the doctor today, he did an u/s and the sac had collapsed. :sad1: Best wishes ladies, I pray you will all have safe and healthy pregnancies!

You are in my thoughts!

I am so, so, so terribly sorry for your loss. You will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Thank you :goodvibes That is really sweet of you to say! I just keep praying that my love for him and all the other family and friends in our lives love for him will make up for his not having a dad around. Thanks for the support though. It's very appreciated

You are strong and truly an amazing woman. All will turn out well, I'm sure of it. My father was/is like your baby's and I've had some issues trying to understand how someone could care less about a child they helped create and sometimes a movie with a good dad will make me cry - but my mom had amazing support from my grandparents and others while we were growing up and my brother and I are happy and well-adjusted people. I know it will be the same for your little guy.

How you guys find the time to do the coupon thing amazes me.... The only ones I really do are the ones I get from my Kroger card :)

Anyways...was just gonna share my pregnant pic too .. THis was one week before delivery....
And, then one week after :)

... Today, he was waiting on ds11 when he got off the bus and he called me a b*tch and dared my son to hit him, so he did. My principal broke them up in the parking lot!!!!!!! These are 11 yr olds! So I have to meet with the middle school principal tomorrow morning and ds11, who has never been in trouble for ANYTHING will probably be suspended for a few days. ...
Don't be too hard on him. Sometimes, a boy has to do what a boy has to do. (Don't make me quote Kenny Rogers.)
Okay, I need to vent again. I'm sure some of you remember my situation with the father of my baby. He decided he didn't wanna be a part of our lives and all that jazz. Great. Perfect. I'm moving on as best I can, ya know? Well if he doesn't want to be a dad to this child then I want to make sure that he has NO legal rights. So I am in the process of getting a lawyer so that we can have him sign the documents relinquishing his parental rights. He will not answer a phone call from me. So I had to resort to sending him a message on MYSPACE. ...
Just be happy that he doesn't want to be around. The last thing that you need is to be dealing with that loser every day of your life.
... He should know better...his dad left when he was two. I guess it can go one way or another. You can either learn from what you went through or you can repeat the same mistakes :sad2: ...
Still, a person knows (or should know) when they're being a bonehead.
You can officially remove my name from the due date list. ...
I'm so sorry.
Not to be Debbie Downer, but I would never use a used car seat. They do expire (the cushioning decompresses or something), plus you don't know if they've been in an accident or not. Once a car seat has been in an accident it's no longer 'good'. I might take a used car seat from a relative or friend that I trust, but never from strangers. ...
I actually had planned to replace the padding, cover, and belts with new, anyway, so I'm not that concerned.

I do it while waiting on my homework problems to load. Same as how I find the time to DIS. :rotfl:

Paper coupons I go through at work and cut out at work too. Nothing else to do. On Saturdays, my boss buys the newspaper and we all sit there together and cut out the coupons (in the city I work in, coupons are in Saturdays paper as they don't have a Sunday paper)....

It's worth it! I'm trying to get more into it for when I stop working.
DH doesn't care nor does he understand why I come home so excited from savings lots of $$ but he kissed me goodnight last night and said "Sleep tight frugal wifey" :rotfl:

The way I keep our freezers stocked (between the two houses we have 4, one being an upright full-size freezer!) we could eat off of the food I buy on sales/coupons for 3-4 months and only need to buy milk, eggs, fresh fruits and select veggies. I freeze a ton of vegetables, too, though.
There is a local grocery store that has a meat sale 3 times yearly. It's such an amazing sale you wait in line for usually an hour just to get to the meat cases. I went in October and we're still eating off of what I got for $80. :woohoo:

I love saving a buck. DH doesn't get it because we're alright financially.. it's not like I HAVE to save the way I do, I just like it. :goodvibes
It makes it easier to justify the extras, too!

I *think* it is the plastic that expires - there is only so long plastic is still strong enough after years of sitting in a car in the heat.

But you are right - if a seat has been in an accident, it is no longer good to use.

Just dropping in for a second, been busy but wanted to say YAY for a good deal on Clorox Wipes!

ZachnElli- No words can express what you must be feeling. I am so so sorry:hug: Please know that we are all thinking of you during this difficult time.

Piecey- I dont have a Rite Aid but gosh that sounds like a deal.

Veronica- From what I know, (not sure if this varies by state) but as long as the father, HIMSELF, does not SIGN the birth certificate, he has absolutely no legal obligation to the child. He cannot be forced to pay child support of any kind, nor share any fatherly duties. However, if you were to ever want to have your child adopted down the road by another man, you may need to get him to sign a piece of paper (this may only have to happen if YOU put the fathers name on the birth certificate). Regardless of what is listed, as long as his signature isnt on it-- he has no obligation.

My best friend (the one that just found out she was pregnant at 30wks- yes, that one) went through this with her first daughters father. It was a fling in college and he wasnt ready to own up to it. Shes since been with a new guy. She waited 2yrs or so until things had calmed down and then asked him to sign his rights away (which he never signed having rights in the first place) so that her daughter could be adopted. Not sure if that makes sense.

*****Now for a big big question-- do any of you ladies get the Babies R Us mailers? I was told by a lady that worked in furniture that there is a 20% off coupon (or some % off, maybe 10) on furniture (or might be any purchase over a certain amount. If anyone isnt going to use it-- will you please let me know? Id love to have it and would gladly reimburse you postage plus anything else necessary. We are trying to buy baby furniture but ever since she told DH about this coupon-- hes waiting until he has one in hand. Thanks.

ETA: It is a coupon that says 20% off any nursery furniture purchase of $500 or more...

sbell111-as far as the car seat is concerned, call your local PD-they sometimes have someone that can check it over and certify if it is still safe or not (free of charge). I bought a used one at my sister's sale but they had the police department come in and check each car seat. He pulled all the expired seats and those that were no longer safe to use so they only sold those he deemed safe.

Most of what he pulled (besides those that expired) were those that had heat damage to the straps and plastic.

I got a mailing a few weeks ago, lemme go dig through the mail box (I packed :rotfl:) and see if I can find it!

I found it and it says it can be printed online, too!!

Found it online here:
http://trus.imageg.net/graphics/corp/bru-041709-cpns.pdf
(lemme know if you can't get it to load-- my laptop wouldn't work but I got it to come up on DH's, which is where i'm posting from. Weird stuff, but if the link won't work let me know!)

Hope that helps!!

This is something that I can do myself, but thanks.

Hi,

I got my bedding today! :woohoo: I ordered it on Friday and it came this morning. Target has free shipping on certain baby items, so if you need something they only have online check it out. The blanket has a nice blue fleece side so he can use it more down the line than DS1 used his. It was super thick and adorable, but way too hot for a sleeping blanket. Now to paint and get that room done!

I joined a coupon train in February. I love getting the mail because I know there will be a ton of coupons we can use. I haven't found any stores by me that will double coupons! What gives?

Maggimus- If you haven't found a crib and furniture yet you could try JCP.com. They have site to store shipping so for all 3 pieces of furniture I only paid $50. It's hard to only be able to look at it online, but DH and I were so thrilled with the set we got. I looked at BRU but they didn't have any cribs that were convertible without the dropdown side, or they were way too much money. FRIEND20 will give you 20% off too. Sales pitch for the day over! :)

SBell- I hope the seat works for you. DH is a firefighter and does carseat installation and has to refuse seats because they are expired or damaged. He always feels bad sending the new parent away with no seat, and no way to take the baby home, especially when they are trying to leave the hospital that day.

Dannysmom- congrats on one of each. That will be so exciting. We had 2 sets of boy girl twins in my graduating class.

mmkk- cute pics! DS1 was sticking out his tongue for his u/s and then looked like he was laughing by opening and closing his mouth fast. I love those moments. I'd love another u/s and thought about doing a 3D outside of my office. A few resales I've been to won't even sell carseats, carriers, or bases because of the potential for damage. Plus, you don't have the instruction book, and most that I've seen at gs don't have one attached. Nice of the PD to help out.

YAY for a coupon train!! And YAY for your bedding-- can you post a link of the bedding you got? I love seeing people get their nurseries together.

Did you see a difference in quality from JCPenneys furniture and BRU furniture? Im just wondering-- the only other furniture we found that we like is Munire-- and its a reg. furniture brand and a set is like $4,000-- and im not paying that! At BRU We can get 30% off and pick up at the store... but if the quality is better at JCpenneys we will give it some serious consideration.

raysnkaysmom- you were pregnant and still so so tiny! I bet you have already lost every single pound you gained. Your daughter is ADORABLE.

Don't almost all the stores carry duplicate brands, to some degree?

The crib I ended up getting was at BRU, Amazon, cribs.com, etc. It was a lot of places. I just went with the cheapest store to order.

I read reviews on all the webpages to help me decide, though.

Don't be too hard on him. Sometimes, a boy has to do what a boy has to do. (Don't make me quote Kenny Rogers.)

I actually love that song-it came on the other day right at the house, and I circled the block twice to listen to it! (His mama named him Tommy, but folks just called him yellow.....sometimes you gotta fight when you're a man). I was proud of him for sticking up for himself. His principal loves him, and decided that it wasn't a "real" fight (even though it was). Both of them got In School Suspension for one day, so no 0s. He said the other boy's discipline folder was so thick they could barely shut it. They had to go and find an empty folder for ds11:rotfl:. Apparently my sweet easygoing son isn't someone to mess with-the fight happened at the high school, and several of my students saw it. They said my son put a whupping on the other boy. Maybe he'll leave him alone now!

I had my 36 wk checkup today, and a sonogram. She is measuring right on time, and weighs about 5lbs 14 oz (more than I did when I was born!). She was practicing breathing, and is head down thank goodness. Everything looked really good according to my dr. He started out the door, then turned around and said we'd set an induction date in the next 2 wks. I hadn't even thought about induction, but I guess he wants to make sure to be there for the birth since I'm technically high risk (36 and had seizures after dd9 was born).

Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so excited!!! :banana::banana:

Okay, not why I'm excited, but necessary info to my excitement:
One of my best friends just sent me a message that her brother's wife (I went to school with her and all her siblings, small high school so we all know each other!) delivered their baby at 30 weeks last night. Luckily, baby is doing okay and is in an NICU an hour from here until July, at the earliest...

Then she told me she is PREGNANT!:banana: (Sarah, I know how you feel now!)
She has a little boy already, he turned a year old in February...
Crappy part is her DH was in the Army when they got married so I wasn't around for any of that, they lived on base. She was completely alone (he deployed to Iraq when she was 4-5months along and came home when Izaiah was 9months) BUT he was discharged a few months ago and she has been begging him to come home (here) and thinks this might do it (be there to help her brother, SIL, and because of new baby!!!!)

WOOHOOO. :woohoo: :yay:
I'm crossing my fingers!!!!!!!!!

December- how exciting! But ohmygosh, so close!

All you guys talking about saving money inspired me to check my local Craigslist to see if any one was selling anything I want/need for the babies.

I found nearby (maybe 20 minutes away) a Baby Trend Double Snap N Go base for $40. She said she bought it new in 2007 & used it for 7 months. New it's $100, I like paying $40 a whole lot better. Anyway, I'll be meeting her on Saturday afternoon & as long as it is in decent shape (which she claims it is) I'll be getting it. :)
