I too had a pap done, just got the letter in the mail that all is ok.. yaaay! I hate paps though, they cause me serious anxiety as is and now with the baby on the way it just quadrupled.

I discovered a big LIKE today. Smoothies with fruit, milk, and yogurt. Weird cuz normally I don't like yogurt but this is gooood. Healthy too, at least not too bad.

Hi all!!

I don't know if I'm breaking the rules by not really reading all the posts, but there are so many! :flower3:

I thought this would be a good post to respond to...we just had our 12 week u/s yesterday and everything looks right on schedule!! Our close family & friends knew already, but we just started telling other people, because I wanted to wait until the ultrasound for reassurance. We're so excited!! Due July 25, 2010 :woohoo:

Also, to a previous poster, I had to get a pap at our first visit, which was around 7 weeks, but like another poster mentioned, I was a few months behind. DD is just about 2, but unfortunately my memory doesn't go far back enough to remember that first visit for her. :rotfl2:

I had one done as well. In the state we live in, it's standard to test for certain things when you're pregnnat, and if they'd waited, I would have been way past my annual pap date by the time the baby was born.

Actually, I have a really hard time with dairy in general, but not yogurt. So the yogurt and fruit part of that sounds really good. I bet I could make something like that with soy, huh?

I love yogurt too because for those of us who are...challenged...it help keeps us regular. ;)

Congratulations on your first ultrasound being a-okay! Great news, and very exciting. :goodvibes

Catching up with everyone here...

Apress, good luck to you!

I'm officially not working now. Doctor told me to stop working for the rest of my pregnancy. My BP has squeaked up and so I get lots of bedtime now. Not officially on bedrest yet!

I have Gestational diabetes, and at the u/s on Monday, they measured my "little" guy at 6 lb 10 oz... holy cow!!! We still have 4 more weeks until the C section!!! Am I glad I am having that instead of natural birth... I'm afraid he's going to weigh 14 lbs by the time this is over! :rotfl:

I think I've got the nursery all together. My mom feels as though I am incapable of washing all the baby's clothes so she took them home with her to wash. :thumbsup2 I am not complaining though!!!

I had an ultrasound at exactly the same gestation you are now with my son and he was also estimated to be 6lbs 10oz. He was born a week later at 36 weeks, 2 days, and he weighed 8lbs 4oz. So if he had gone another 3 weeks like yours likely will, I am sure he would have been a good 10lbs. So I would agree a c-section would be the way to go!

Can I ask you what activities you do on the Wii Fit? :goodvibes I was nervous about using it because I don't want to mistakenly do something that will hurt the baby. I know that may sound silly, but I know there are certain things that shouldn't be done, you know what I mean? I have prenatal yoga DVD and I can tell how the poses are modified compared to my regular yoga.

I do almost anything on wii fit. If I think it is going to bother me, I don't do it or if it hurts I stop. I stick to mostly the yoga poses and the arm stregnth training. My dr. told me to use my common sense so that's what I try to do. I prefer to run outside but if it's raining and I can't get to the gym I have done the Basic Run on wii fit. It's like running in place.
I think as long as you aren't pushing it and you listen to what your body is telling you, you should be fine. Talk to your dr. about it and see what they say.
I don't do Ski Slalom because it bothered my side muscles and I'm entirely too uncoordinated to do any of the step stuff so I don't do that either (I'm afraid I'm going to fall on my butt and that won't be good)

Lindsay - I don't use the Wii Fit for exercise, I just play on it. I have been doing all the balance games for fun and nothing seems to be wrong with them. Obviously if they bother you don't do it but I think those would be fine to do. I also doing the Wii Sports with the bowling and tennis for a little more movement.

We had a GREAT night last night. DS was in his bed by 8pm, alseep by 9:15pm, woke up crying at 3am when the furnace kicked on but I turned it off and he went back to sleep on his own. He didn't call for me until 7:45AM. Granted he only had an hour nap yesterday but still... that's progress. Hopefully the same will happen today, well with a little longer nap please.

DMickey - I didn't realize Alex was having sleep issues. That is a battle I vividly remember when I was pregnant with my 2nd. You're just so tired to begin with and then when the existing kid won't sleep it's exhausting. My huge fear was that my son would be born and my daughter would still have issues going to bed and waking overnight and then I'd have 2 of them up, likely alternating, and I was terrified. That ended up not happening and she miraculously started sleeping in her own bed, on her own, all night about 2 weeks before my son was born. I wish I could tell you why or how, but I really have no clue, it just sort of happened.

Well, nothing much going on here. I go see the doc again on Thursday, so we will see if anything is going on. DH has a night booked at a waterpark hotel for us on Friday night. Luckily, it is in the city we live in. I did inform him that if the beds are uncomfortable, I am going to go home to sleep! He got a little ticked off and said "So I have to be in charge of the kids??" Um, dear, our kids are 16 and 10!! They are pretty self-sufficient!! Just you wait until Elliott comes, and we are back to square one!!

On another note, I have never heard of getting paps done during pregnancy. How odd! My doctor waited til I had delivered to give me one. Is this a common thing to have them or am I just out of the loop? :dance3:

The reason I had to have one is completely my fault. Apparently my last one was in 2003!

I don't go to the Dr unless I absolutely have to, preferring to let my body heal itself as it was designed to do. So, I just never really thought of it. BAD, BAD, Jenn, I know. ;)

I had one planned when I became pregnant in 2006 but they canceled it because I was pregnant (which really confuses me know that I know they CAN do them while you are pregnant). I miscarried that pregnancy and after the D&C, didn't see a Dr. again until November of 08 when we decided to start trying again.

So... It truly was absolutely necessary that I have this one. 7 years is way too long and I got the look from the Dr. He is one of those "look" guys, he doesnt have to give you a lecture, he gives you the "I am disappointed in you" look. Its kinda funny.

Anyway, at my appt. on Monday, I found that I had lost 8 lbs. Did I mention that earlier? I may have - I am just a little excited cause I know what is coming! :lmao:

It's a ..........................BOY
Chase Michael arrived yesterday at 5:59 pm. He was 8 lbs. 7 oz. and 19 inches long. I haven't gotten to see much of him, because his breathing was too fast for awhile and they were keeping him in the nursery alot. Hoping to cuddle with him alot today. Labor and delivery was not too bad. The pain got bad when I arrived at the hospital and he arrived pretty quickly. I was admitted around 3:00 yesterday and he born in less then 3 hours. Luckily I only had to push for 2 rounds before he was out. Good luck to everyone else.

Congrats Apress! Sounds like you had a great L&D. Enjoy your cuddle time today!

Congrats Apress!!! BOYS rock ... They are such Mama's boys. I still dream of a baby girl but I love my DS so much and can't wait to see the two boys together!

Jenn - I am horrible at going to every doctor but the OB. I haven't had a physical from an family doctor in FOREVER, at least 7-8 years and I couldn't tell you the last time I was at the dentist. I figure the OB does all the blood work when you are pregnant and I have my BP checked there all the time. Who needs a regular MD?

What do you guys think of this nursery? I don't remember if I showed you pictures of my attempt at our nursery but we didn't like it. I think this might be good though ... I won't do the circles on the wall and the tan/light brown stripe on the wall in this picture will be a slightly different color but the general idea would be the same. Our furniture is more of a pecan/maple color though and we have a similar tan/pecan/maple colored carpet for the room. What do you think? I really need to make a decision and get working!!

This was my attempt ... I would keep the same chocolate on the bottom that I already have, just change the stripes on the top. OR darken the chocolate on the bottom from the milk chocolate it is now to a darker chocolate, like the ears in the puppy on the bedding!! Our bedding is on the floor infront of the wall.

Congrats apress!!! Hopefully you will get to spend the day cuddling!!

I love that nursery scheme! I could never pull off anything as pretty, but given what you did with Alex's room I think it will turn out great!

Christina, I like that brown!!! I think with the lighter colored furniture that lighter brown will be better.

If your furniture were black it might be better to do the darker chocolate color in the picture.

If this is a girl, I am going to experiment on the nursery with some stripes. My friend is a teacher and she lives a few blocks up and offered to help since she'll be off all summer, no way could I do that by myself! Now I just gotta figure out which variety of kiddo I am cooking!!

Thanks. You think I should keep the current chocolate then? That will be one less can of paint I need to buy since I currently have $80 worth that won't be used!!

Do you have a secret (or not so secret) desire for one gender over the other? I am sure you ALL know, I really wanted a girl this time but am very happy for my new baby boy. It does make it easier and cheaper this way!!

I like the current chocolate, especially with lighter colored furniture...

Before I was actually pregnant I wanted boys.
Now that I'm pregnant I feel like this is a girl (which is crazy! I just feel like it is. :confused3) and that has me all sorts of excited.
But then I go back to thinking about the pair of brothers I'd envisioned. And the rubbermaid totes full of clothing that I already have for a little boy. :rotfl:

The girls on the Newest Moms thread are sending twin dust my way. :scared1:
