Thanks for the compliments everyone! I may be a little biased but I think he's pretty perfect myself
Ok, the long awaited birth story...
Friday morning I was scheduled to go in at 5 a.m. Got there and they told me it may be a little while before they started me because they had a couple emergencies going on with some other deliveries. No big deal, gave me some more time to process everything that was going on

As my mom and I are sitting in the delivery room they put me in I go to pee and realize...hey, I am little um...
damp down in that area. I told my mom and we both agreed that maybe my water had broken and was starting to leak. So around 730 the nurses come in, I get changed, put into the bed, and my doctor came in to check me. Sure enough my water had broken...perfect timing

So she got the hook and finished the job...felt so gross too! Pretty much right away the contractions started...and they were ALL in my lower back. I figured I would have back labor and I was right. The nurse told me I could get the epidural any time I wanted because I was already 4 cm. dilated and the anesthesiologist was available if I wanted. So I said "let's do it!"

Remember I said I wanted as little pain as possible cause I am a big wimp. So the anesthesiologist came, did the epi (and I did feel the epi more since my contractions weren't horribly strong yet but it wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be), and I only had to feel the back labor for about 45 minutes. My mom kept telling me how lucky I was

After the epi, they started the pitocin to help my contractions along. I dilated to 10 and was 100% effaced by 430 in the afternoon. It probably would have gone by even quicker than that but Jake's heart rate kept dropping so they had to give me a REALLY low dose of the pitocin and at one point they completely stopped giving it to me. My blood pressure dropped a couple times too so they didn't want it too high. My doctor and nurse both thought he probably had his cord either around his neck or shoulder and that could be why his heart rate went down during contractions. So finally at about 6:15 I started pushing. Oh, and by that point they had turned off my epidural because that sucker was STRONG and I was dead from the waist down. If they hadn't turned it off I probably would have been pushing all night because I couldn't feel anything at all. So with the epi off I could feel all the pressure and I could tell enough to know when I was having a contraction and was able to push really well. He was out at 7:46! When his head came out (which was the worse part pain wise) he did have the cord wrapped once around his neck but they cut it right away and he was fine
All in all, I know I got REALLY lucky and had a pretty easy delivery. I had a minor second degree tear and I am still pretty sore from that but it's not nearly as bad as I thought it would be. The stitches should dissolve in a few days. I think God knew that after what a rough pregnancy I had that if I had had a horrible birth experience I probably would never have any more kids ever
Thanks again for all the well wishes! I'll try to check in again soon. Hope I didn't bore anyone!
