You are now the 3rd person to mention her epi wearing off...

Am I counted in that EPI wearing off number... it was not fun. But I have already forgotten the pain. Emma makes up for it daily.

FYI, dreft spot remover rocks on getting formula stains out.

We have a heartbeat!!!! Woohoo! I feel soooo relieved now!

:banana:Congratulations, it's always a relief to hear that sound! At my last appointment my little one thought it would be funny to move around so much we couldn't hear it, if it was not for me being able to feel him moving I would have freaked out, but he made up for it by letting us get a good look at him when the doctor decided to bring in the ultrasound machine...and yep still a boy and not shy at all to show it!

We went to the OB yesterday. He had trouble getting anything but a faint heartbeat, but Sarah has been moving about so much lately that it didn't concern us. Also, we were able to image it easily on the ultrasound.

That makes our eighth ultrasound. I may have to put Cathy into a twelve-step program.

While we were at the doc's yesterday, our OB shared a story of a delivery that he performed earlier that morning.

The baby was a healthy girl, even though the ultrasound technician swore it was a boy during their 20-week viewing. Our doc said that this is only the second time that this has happened to him in the thirty years that he's practiced obstetrics, but still...

Great news, congrats!!!

I have a v. ultrasound on Thursday and am hoping for the same news. :goodvibes

On a sour note, I felt sick as can be this morning. I ate some saltines and felt somewhat better so went into work.

Chloe - Sorry to hear the sickness is kicking in for you. Hopefully it won't be that bad or last too long.

When do they switch from V ultrasounds to regular exterior ones? I never got a v ultrasound and had never heard of them till this board so I wonder when the baby becomes visible from the 'outside' so to speak.

Tigger - Congrats on the heartbeat! That's always such an incredible sound. And such a relief too.

Kristen - Always nice to get that confirmation that the baby is still the gender you're thinking it is. With my daughter we did a 3D ultrasound and got confirmation she was a girl, but we didn't do that with my son. I did need a regular ultrasound at 35 weeks though, and the tech said she couldn't see that area at all cause he was so packed in there and I was kinda freaked out. Luckily not too long as he was born less than a week later, but I was kind of stressed about it in the meantime!

Today wasn't too bad sick-wise, but my daughter had a friend over again and we stayed at the pool, playground, came home to eat, then got a call that her dad would be an hour late! Ordinarily I don't care, but my kids go to bed at 7, and he came at 7:10, so we were behind schedule. Again, not usually a big deal, but my son did not sleep well last night so I know he was tired tonight, but no way would he go to bed while his sister is up playing with a friend, so I just waited it out. Now, of course, I hear a lot of noise going on in their bedroom so clearly still no sleeping going on.

I guess that makes sense as my earliest ultrasound was at 8 weeks.

Is anybody else concerned about the swine flu? It seems like every time I turn on the news they're talking about how the vaccine will go to pregnant women first because the flu can be life threatening for pregnant women.
We are supposed to go spend the weekend at the overnight camp that my FIL helps run up in Canada in a few weeks - and last month 75 kids got hit with the swine flu. They told us that now they're down to only having 1 sick kid but I'm still nervous about being around so many people who have been exposed to it.
What do you guys think? Should I be concerned? :confused3

I personally am not that concerned about it, my daughter is in a camp this week that had confirmed cases of swine flu earlier this summer, but I also wouldn't deliberately expose myself to it. I wouldn't be first in line for the vaccine simply cause it's new and I have no guarantee that it is safe for the developing baby, but I will be getting a regular flu shot like I do every year, and my kids will as well. I would also let them get the swine flu vaccine and my husband will likely get it as well. He thinks the vaccine would be totally safe for me, assuming my OB recommends it, so I shouldn't really worry, but you never know so I'll likely pass on it.

This morning, Cathy reached her saturation point regarding H1N1 and gave me an angsty phone call. We agreed that we will both wash & sanitize our hands regularly and stay away from sick people. This includes sending people home who show up at choir practice with a cough. (She's a Music Director.)

Once the vaccine comes out, we will boh get it if our OB recommends it.

If she had plans to go somewhere that has a higher risk of exposure (like a summer camp), I would recommend against it.

Congrats!! I have my first US next week at 6w3d and I am hoping to see the heartbeat. We are nervous this go around after a chemical pregnancy in April but my HCG beta numbers are looking really good and after my 4th or 5th ones yesterday my doctor decided we don't need anymore and we will just wait for the US.

I am getting stressed out though. We are going to start our first house search ever on Saturday. I feel like the pressure is totally on! What if we find a house we love? What if we don't have enough money for the downpayment and closing? What if what if what if ... argh We have money saved, we are being gifted some money from my mother in law for the down payment and we are pre-approved for the mortgage. Still ... it's such a big decision. What if it's not the right town? Which town should we look in?

DMickey - House hunting is always stressful, but try not to worry too much. Whatever is meant to happen will, so even if you think you found the perfect place, but it falls through, it's only cause something else will be on the horizon.

... What if we don't have enough money for the downpayment and closing? ...
Your lender should have a really good idea of how much money you will need at closing. Give him a call. He'll walk you through it.

Hi. It did not look good today. The heartbeat was very slow and the doctor said there has not been much growth since my last ultrasound. I am scheduled for a d&c at the end of next week, if I don't miscarry on my own before than. :guilty: Best wishes to everyone here, I hope to be back here again with you all soon.
