Moms Panel Results!?

I just noticed that most of the Disers who have made it so far, don't have many posts. I wonder then what the attraction was to applying for an online Disney community when many of the 2nd rounders listed don't post much on here? Perhaps it was being an official Disney employee?

Just wondering, Tiger :)

Ya, look at my post count. :lmao: And this isn't the only Disney forum I post at!

I honestly do not believe the posts have anything to do with ones knowledge of WDW, or whether or not we were or were not chosen for the moms panel. The judges have no clue how many posts we have! I think we are all a little edgy about not receiving a reply. i know i am! i think not hearing anything at all would have been better than some receiving emails, and some receiving nothing!

I actually didn't mention posting on forums in my essays, I was just joking about the comment about the number of posts people had and making fun of myself.

And I feel like I know WDW, I've had over 50 trips there now.

No worries! :goodvibes

Probably everyone that entered had as good as chance of being picked as someone else. Think about it, how many nonDisney fans even knew about it.

So I am sure everyone that entered is a huge Disney fan and planner.

I would imagine there is a formula to the first round of selection, such as age, sex, I imagine they truly did want some Dads in the group, number of children, age of children, number of trips made and when they were made, that kind of thing.

Then after that process of getting the numbers to manageable levels, they can concentrate more on the comments, etc.

I do think however if they were not going to send everyone a notice, then they should not have sent any, as they stated.

Make that 17 DISBoard members!!! I was selected, too!!! YIPPEE!!! I wonder how many there are in all down to this level...well, off to work on my three answers...I can't believe it!!!!
:yay: :yay: :yay: :yay:

I posted this over on the CB, where we have a thread for those who haven't received any sort of response:

OK, so now that we've all bonded in our collective non-receipt of acceptance or rejection letters, is anyone planning to write to Disney Destinations? I know somewhere on one of these threads early on is the official email address, I'll track it down later and post it here.

I'm not talking about a whiney letter, but a polite one enquiring why you did not receive a response one way or another, when you know that so many others did. Maybe verify your real name and email address.

If I don't hear anything by the end of the day tomorrow, I plan to send one over the weekend (I wouldn't expect to receive anything on Sat. or Sun.).

Maybe if enough of us send emails, they might realize that there was a snafu in their system, or whatever.

I'm at the point most of you are; wondering what happened, and would be satisfied with a rejection (but thrilled with a pass on to the next stage!).

I thought I would post it here also, since some of you may not frequent that board

I got in :) I guess that I can be the 18th diser now, and I'm a Disney Dad. Man this is great in so many obvious ways. But one great, yet sadistic thing has come from this for me, I know several Disney Mom's who are beside themselves because I got picked over them. I've already won that much. :stitch2: Now onto the three questions.
I have not taken the time to read every post here, but how many selected of this 18 diser's were Dad's?

You go, Disney Dad!:woohoo:
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

Maybe they will have to rethink the Moms Panel name. ;)

How awesome! Big CONGRATS to you!

Did you just get the email today, or was it dated earlier?

Darn it!! I actually got an email stating:

Dear Heather,

On behalf of all of us at Walt Disney World Resort®, thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to apply for the first-ever Walt Disney World Moms Panel.

We realize it's no easy task just keeping a family moving every day, so we appreciate all the effort you put into your application. We were absolutely overwhelmed by the response we saw and very humbled by the heartwarming stories we read in each of the applications.

With 10,000 moms (and dads!) applying, we had a difficult time narrowing the field to the next round. We personally read every application submitted. While you were not among those selected, we are very grateful that you took the time to enter and share your love for Walt Disney World Resort®.

that stinks!!!! I kept crossing my fingers!

I'm a Dad - which kinda makes this event interesting. When I looked over the list of those who had made it as semi-finalists, there were a few men listed. My kids are threatening to tell my wife that I'm hanging out with a bunch of "Disney Mom's" online! :rolleyes1

Woohoo!! Sorry, moms. I was a Disney Dad who applied as well. I hope they actually realized you were a Dad. I must admit I was a little hurt by the potential one-sidedness to this panel. Congratulations to you and to all moms and dads who moved on, while I am severely depressed that I didn't get selected, I truly hope a DISer does!!!!

Your glad you won because you beat out the Moms, that seems kinda, let's see how you put it, sadistic. :sad2:

I agree that on Disney's part this was not a very good PR move. Either do what they said, when you entered, which was that unless you advanced you would not be notified, or notify everyone. Anything else is not fair.

Just wondering if those selected actually put in how many trips they had taken to WDW? I didn't because I assumed they would be checking our travel profiles or reservation system since they have all of that info.

My hubby is upset that he didn't enter as we thought it was only for moms as they would surely do a Disney dad board as well.

I still have not gotten a response back. I would like one, just so I can stop wondering if I made it in or if they even read mine. Add me to the no response list!!
