Moms Panel Results!?

Just wanted to jump on here and wish good luck to all of you who interviewed/will be interviewing in the next couple days! I couldn't find this thread again, had to go back to my emails and get the link from there, now it makes sense, the thread moved off the board it was on!

I would really love to know how many made it to round 2...we know out of those, only 26 made it to round 3, but I'd love to know how many got as far as round 2. I was so thrilled to have gotten even that far, very surprised with 10,000 applicants to start!

Some were wondering where the panelists will stay for the training in December....my guess would be either the YC, BC, BW, CR, GF, or CS because those are the resorts that have conference centers.

Good luck to everyone and I can't wait to hear who made it, but you should all be really proud of yourselves, 26 out of 10,000 is incredible!:thumbsup2

There is actually a Disney University back behind Contemporary near the MK, that is where the Traditions training takes place and alot of other courses for cast members. I would think Contemporary or WL since they are closest to DU.

So I don't know how much y'all talked about it, or how many questions you asked, but does anyone know where the moms would be staying? And can the family vacation be at any time? To which resorts? Totally putting the cart before the horse here I know, but this is like winning the lottery to me - fun to daydream about the details, even if I never win. I'm hoping the winners would get a peek inside the Cinderella Castle Suite. :thumbsup2

Hi Heather -
We did not talk about where we'd be staying, etc. to be honest, I don't want to know too many details because if I don't make it, it might be a little depressing! LOL

However, they did say the free trip can be taken after April...not sure when we would have to take it by though.

Heather,

I agree no need to throw your DD into shock, take a pump and if you don't have one you can rent one to take with you. They're not that expensive. Chances are you could pump enough before you go. I don't think you want to go cold turkey before you get there (might be painful:scared1: ) Not to mention what might happen to your shirt the minute you get homesick:rotfl: You'll do fine and like I said earlier be yourself that is what got you this far. The CM's expect you to be nervous and/or excited, they might think you were strange if you weren't. You get'em girl:cheer2:

I think RatBoy means our thread was moved from Theme Parks to Just for Fun on the boards. I'm pretty sure THIS is the thread he is talking about.

Thanks PartyOf5 for interpretting my "forum speak"! :thumbsup2 That is exactly what I meant.;)

They don't use that for the College of Disney Knowledge graduate courses for travel agents, that's why I was thinking they would probably run this training similar to that training, it was the same thing, 4 nights/5 days. It would be really cool for the panelists to see the Disney University, maybe it will be there, or part of it will be there!

I can't wait to see how this all pans out!!!

I didn't make it to round 2, but did get the nicer of the 2 rejection e-mails. A sincere good luck to those interviewing this week. :cheer2:

I will be reading every day! popcorn::

My guess was that we'd be at the CR, for the monorail convenience and conference center access. Pure speculation though, I really have no clue.

Am I the only one that would feel guilty going to WDW without my kids? :guilty: I have never been away from them at all (well the older kids have spent the night with my parents, but that is because they wanted to go, not that I was leaving them, and the baby has always been with me)...so leaving them would be sad, and leaving them to go to WDW for a week seems downright mean! LOL Poor kiddos would probably be crying more over not going to Disney than they would not being with their Mom! :rotfl:

Crazy4Disney72 - I wondered the same thing about how many people were eliminated with each round. Not sure why it matters to me, but I just find it very interesting. I'm betting it was a pretty small pool.

ETA that I meant a small pool that was LEFT after each round, not a small pool that was eliminated. lol Just realized I didn't word that very well.

:flower3: Thank you for the information, JoRy. I wish you, and all of the remaining DIS-ers the very best of luck!

I felt that way too when I was thinking about what would happen if I made it to the third round. It would have been really hard to leave my kids home. Like you I have never been without my dd and my ds has only spent the night with my parents a night here and there. I had decided though that if I did make it I wasn't going to let that stop me from going because I knew I would regret it later. Plus my ds gave me the go ahead when I told him about the free trip. I'm sure it will be tough, but just remind the kiddos (and yourself) that you'll be getting them a free vacation and learning all kinds of cool stuff about WDW.(Not to mention the experience of a lifetime)
Good luck on your phone interview!:)

I couldn't agree with you guys more! Of course, I would have to drown my guilt in shopping for the kids...AND I'd be able to get a little Christmas shopping done while I'm at it!

Ugh! Can't sleep...this is all so exciting! Is it next Wednesday yet?!

So who is going today? I know RatBoy is...Heather I *think* you are. My3Boys - is today your lucky day as well?

I'm sure I speak for everyone when I wish you all luck with your interviews today!!

Good luck to everyone going today!

My interview isn't until Thursday, so I'm in knots and butterflies until that time. It was so incredible to tell my sons yesterday that I had been mistaken and had moved to the next round. It was great to see how proud my kids were: a true mom moment!

My interview is late this afternoon. When I think about it my heart drops to my stomach so I'm doing my best to stay busy and not think about it! That's not easy. I'm actually hoping we'll be busy at work today, that'll give me less time to think about it and make the day pass more quickly, hopefully.

Thanks for all the encouragement, and I wish you all the best.

I'll be glad when it's over!

Carolyn

And that's why they should have picked me. I have no problem leaving my children. :) I love going to WDW with my children, but I love it more with my DH. We have such a wonderful time together. I do miss my chldren and riding Splash Mountain and Big Thunder Railroad are just not the same without them. But, it's a very fun place for just us adults.

Mine is this afternoon as well. Good luck to everyone who goes today - I hope your days are busy but stress-free so you are ready for the call. :goodvibes

Good luck to all of you today and tomorrow. I know it is easy for me to say since I have already had my interview, but just take a deep breath and remember what you are really doing. You know how some people say they missed their wedding because they were so caught up in the moment...well, I know this is not as big as a wedding (well for some people maybe it is), but think about it the same way. The advice I give to grooms is step back, look around, listen, and live your wedding. Same thing here...step back and think about what you are talking about (Disney, one of your favorite things)...take a deep breath...listen to the Disney judges, and think about what you are going to say, knowing most people on here are extremely knowledgable about WDW, and we are somewhat confident in ourselves...right? So sit back and enjoy the moment. Would it be great to make it to the panel? ABSOLUTELY!!! But think of what you have accomplished so far and it has to make you feel so good.

Maybe helpful, maybe not.

And by the way...I just got the FedEx with my background check forms. I have never been so excited to fill out background checks before. Very strange  :confused3 :rotfl:

And I have been laughing at myself too, as I sit here anxiously awaiting FedEx. :rotfl:

So, was it wrong for me to run out to the FED Ex man and practically hug him? I think he was ready to take cover!!! LOL

That is so funny. I had a pretty grumpy FedEx delivery woman bring mine, so I would have probably had a lawsuit on my hands if I had hugged her.
