.. from her circulatory problems. Until they do an X-ray they won't know how much of foot will have to be taken off. She's got lots of complications and we were expecting this at some point. She is not a candidate anymore for general anaesethia.

If it makes you feel any better, when I was a student, I was assigned to observe in the OR, and the surgery I saw was a 92 year old woman having a below-the-knee amputation. She also could not have general anesthesia. She had a spinal along with something "happy" in her IV, and she chatted to me all through the procedure like she didn't have a care in the world. Once she got into Recovery and the stuff wore off, she was asking when they were going to do the surgery. She was so shocked to discover it was over and she was on her way back to her room.

I'm sorry your mom may need surgery, but you can be reassured that she shouldn't feel any pain, even though she can't have general.

I'm so sorry to hear this..:( I certainly hope there's "something" they can do for her..

Im sorry your mom is having to go through this.:hug:

Sorry to hear. Hoping the surgery goes well (KWIM) and she heals well and has no more complications.
