A moment of silence today at 3:30 pm for the WV miners.

Gov. Joe Manchin III and First Lady Gayle Manchin will participate in a wreath-laying ceremony today (April 12) in honor of the 31 miners involved in the mine disaster at the Upper Big Branch Mine-South. During the ceremony at the Coal Miner Memorial Statue on the Capitol grounds, the governor will ask people from across the nation to join the first lady and him in a moment of silence to honor the fallen miners and their families. You are encouraged to join in the moment at 3:30 p.m., exactly one week after the explosion occurred.

I'm taking a couple of hours off of work and picking my son up to take him. I will first take him through the Circle of Hope that has been set up by local radio stations for donations to the miners' families, then we will head to the Capitol to pay tribute.

So heartbreaking.

Part of my family is from WV and we've lost a few loved ones to the Mines.

Prayers to all these families.

Thx for the reminder. So :sad1:, my heart and prayers go out to the brave souls lost, their families, friends and all involved. May they RIP ^i^
