Mom & Son Eat the World Part 2 - Updated 1/20 Breakfast at POP & Cost Summary

Your pictures are just making me THAT much more excited for my trip! The pictures of Citrico's were great. We have an ADR there and I have been planning on order the arancini, they are one of my favorite things! Great reviews. :thumbsup2

We absolutely LOVE WPE! We had the regular dining plan last time, and you're right, the value can't be beat. The pizza I had was delicious, but your son's rigatoni and the baked mac and cheese looked to die for. I can't imagine going to WDW without a trip there!
Also, DBF and I have been thinking for a signature for our next trip. Your review is definitely pushing him in the Citricos direction-- he thinks your husband's veal looks amazing. Thank you so much for sharing!!

Thanks for another wonderful update. I love Citricos. What your husband order is the same thing I got and I LOVE it.
We don't eat much counter meals too...part of Disney vacation for us is eating and so we eat TS 80% and room service and maybe 2 counter for an 8days.

I am sorry to say that I didn't look. I know there is a salad station that I don't really pay any attention to. I go there mostly for the spaetzle and schnitzel. They do have red cabbage and some other veggies but I don't know if they are prepared completely vegetarian.

That's ok, thanks for letting me know. :) I may have to investigate further as it does look like fun!

The food at Citricos looks fantastic. :lovestruc

I had made a reservation for ‘Ohana for our last morning’s breakfast. We realized the night before that it was just going to be too hectic packing up & meeting the car service so I cancelled it. We had 4 meal credits left and decided to make things easy & have breakfast at POP.

Of course we had to get a POP waffle with Bacon

DS wanted French toast with sausage

DH got the breakfast platter with eggs, potatoes, sausage, bacon and a biscuit. And we all shared the breakfast pizza

Because we had deluxe dining, we were entitled to 8 drinks. We got 5 bottles of water to take on the train, two coffees and an OJ. Total came to $45.98.

We then used the last of our snack credits for train snacks. We didn’t leave any credits on the table, meal or snack.

I will work out our total spent versus what we paid and update later this week.

Looking forward to the wrap up! I really enjoyed your reviews and am sad they're over! Thank you so much for sharing with us!!

I have enjoyed reading your food reviews and a little sad you are wrapping up. Thank you for sharing with us. Any plans for future trip?

what a great trip dining report it was great! can't wait for the next one.

Thank you all! Our next trip is this July to Disneyland. I am really not sure when we will get back to Disney World. I hope some time in 2011 but I am just no sure at this point. :sad1:

The best I can tell from adding up the amounts I posted here, we "spent" $2559.40. This does not count the refillable mugs, the snacks or our breakfasts at Starring Rolls and Main Street Bakery.

We paid $1999.68 for the deluxe dining plan and the wine & dine plan. So we saved more than $559.72. And that is with eating at POP twice which was obviously much cheaper than the Brown Derby and 'Ohana where we had planned to eat!

A huge part of vacation for us is the food. So for us, this is definitely worth it. The plan allowed us to eat at Artist Point and Citricos. It allowed us to go ahead and order the Kobe steak without having to ask how much it was. It allowed us to order expensive wines that we wouldn't otherwise get to try. For us, it works. As much as I like the deluxe resorts, I will stay at POP every time if the trade off is deluxe dining.

I will try to get DH & DS to give me their favorites list and post it over the weekend. I know that is hard for me to do this trip because we just had so many great meals.

THANK YOU all for reading! Hope to be able to do Part 3 some time in the future! Definitely will do Part 1 of "Eating the Land" this summer!

It's over???????? :scared1: Say it isn't so!!!!!!!!!!!!! :sad1:

Thank you SO much for doing your reviews for us! :flower3: I LOVED reading them and am SO looking forward to you eating at "the LAND"! I wish we could go to Disneyland again too! I just LOVE it there.

Thank you! I enjoy your reviews as well! I was in Disneyland for 1/2 a day in 1986 so I don't even think that counts anymore! The Blue Bayou is definitely on our list to try! I will be sure to have the Monte Cristo in your honor! :)

Awww, say it isn't over! Great TR!!

I love the CS breakfasts--such a difference from CS lunch and dinner. The scrambled eggs, sausage and waffles are consistently good.

Thanks for the cost comparison, it's definitely adds to my argument for DxDDP the next time we go to WDW.

Thank you for the reviews, they were great! Looking forward to your Disneyland report as I plan on visiting in the next year or two. :goodvibes

Thanks again so much for sharing! Deluxe dining really just gives you so much freedom. I love that counter service and table service credits are interchangeable!
