Day 6 - The Last Sit-Down Meal
After getting over "The Envelope of Doom", we relaxed, showered and changed for our final sit-down meal at Ohana. This was our second meal at the Poly.
I was surprised at how romantic-looking the restaurant was at night compared to the morning when we had breakfast, and it was quite busy. We were seated near the open kitchen, and had a partial view of Cinderella's Castle.
We were seated next to a couple and their kids.
After we were settled in, the young woman from the next table came over to me and asked if I was Glendamax. She said that she was
Lisa DKG (the author of the thread, "When you see DISers in the Parks")! I was SO EXCITED! While we were posing for pictures, she said, "People are going to think you are someone famous"!
Lisa and her husband had just arrived for 10 days! She said that she told her husband that she hoped that she would see me. Now let's pause . . .
That was HUGE for me! Here I am about to go back to my real (sometimes depressing) life, and the last person I see says that they were hoping to see me while at Disney World! After taking pictures, and meeting her family, I sat down and told my Mother that I have to get myself together! That when I'm feeling sad, or down, I will make myself remember this moment with Lisa DKG!
Thanks Lisa! You have no idea how much that meant, and will always mean to me.
After meeting Lisa, the food started comming. To us, the best food came out first, then it went downhill a bit. Here's our favorites:
Shrimp, Potatoes, Veggies
Since it was our last night, and I knew we were not about to go into the hot sun, I ordered a drink called "Tradewinds" it was VERY good!
The salad was very good also. Unfortunantly, I did not get a picture of the bar-b-cue chicken. It was the best I've ever had in my ENTIRE life! No, I am not exaggerating. OH! If you peak at Lisa's dish, you can see some of the chicken on it . . .ahhhhh . . . .
During the meal, a Lady who reminded me of Charro, led the kids in a parade around the restaurant. Lisa DKG and her kids participated. I took a photo, but it was blurry.
The dessert was good. I think it was a banana pudding with ice cream. Sorry, no photo, I ATE it like ANIMAL from The Muppets!
While eating dessert, we watched Wishes. It was a really nice way to end the trip. I was sorry that Lisa and her family had already left though.
Before we left, the "Charro" character gave my Mother and I a Lei. I secretly wanted one, and was DELIGHTED to when she came over!
We went back to the room and started to pack.

But I had to take some pictures with our Leis on!
Little did I know, that night would be the last good night's sleep I would get for about a week . . .
Day 6 Lessons Learned
1. Since I do not ride Tower of Terror or Rockin Rollar Coaster, there is no reason to get to MGM as soon as it opens. Glad we slept in!
2. Unless there is an announcement that the Backlot Tour has changed, don't do it.
3. The Great Movie Ride is a bit lame. But do take the time to look at the cement in the front of the theater, and the props.
4. Get a Mickey Bar!
5. When you see a DISer, chase them down. So sorry I missed Oceana at MGM!
6. If you are delighted when you see someone, tell them. You'll never know just how much it means to them.
Next, our departure day . . .
