Day 4
Express Check Out
MGM
The flight home
Breakfast: Starring Rolls
Lunch: 50s Prime Time Café w/ Mom Sue
Dinner: Burger King at the airport
Time to go already? Bummer. Well our flight isnt till 7:30 PM, but the Mears shuttle will pick us up at 4 PM. We finish packing our stuff and call bell services to come get our bags. They will store them for the day so we can go to the parks. Since we have express check out, theres no need to check out so we head to MGM.
We grab a quick breakfast (a cinnamon roll) at the Starring Rolls Bakery and decide that we want to ride Rock n Roller Coaster and Tower of Terror again. Since its Sunday, its a bit more crowded (but still slow for this time of year if that makes sense). So we ride those two rides and shop a bit. Then we decide to see if we can get into the 50s Prime Time Café. Were seated w/in 5 minutes with our server Mom Sue. Mom Sue tells us to set the table and to make sure we keep our elbows off the table. (This is a theme restaurant where all the waitresses are Moms from the 50s and treat you as such). She gives us homework come up with the 11 animated Disney movies w/ 1 word titles (and the counts as a word). Lets see if I can remember
1. Dumbo
2. Aladdin
3. Hurcules
4. Dinosaur
5. Bambi
6. Tarzan
7. Cinderella
8. Pochahontas
9. Pinocchio
10. Fantasia
11. Mulan
Its tougher than you think! We had some help from our cousins (people at the next table) and a few hints from Mom. Speaking of cousins, the women at the next table didnt touch her green beans, so Mom fed her a forkful complete with airplane noises.
Mom and I both had the steak sandwich. Not bad, but the fried chicken which I had last time was MUCH yummier! Dessert ~ Smores! I cant rave enough about this one! But make sure you clean your plate or Mom wont let you have dessert!!
We head off to the Back Lot tour with a short wait. Be warned that if you sit on the left side of the tram you may get wet!! We stopped at sound stage 1 where you can get your picture taken w/ Sorcerer Mickey (Moms favorite) and checked out the Walt Disney story (very interesting exhibit/movie complete w/ models of some of the rides, architectural plans for the castle, etc).
Oh when we saw Sorcerer Mickey, they let a honeymooning couple go to the front of the line. The cast member announced that they were on their honeymoon and had better things to do (wink wink nudge nudge) than wait on line
Time to get the bus back to the resort. We get our bags and Mears picks us up to hear to the airport. Im not sure where the days went. Dinner was crummy Burger King at the airport.
I must say that Im more impressed w/ the security at Orlando airport than at Newark. Orlando did all the same things as Newark PLUS they randomly patted down/metal detector wanted people at the gate and checked carry-ons randomly at the gate. Granted it's a smaller airport, so it's probably easier to have tighter security.
And of course, on the flight home I had a kid kicking the back of my seat the whoooole flight. I tolerated it for a while then nicely (well nicely considering how ticked off I was) asked the mom if she could please get her son to stop kicking my seat. Which he did for all of 5 minutes. I didnt bother asking again because I figured itd do no good. Needless to say, by the end of the flight I was ready to break the kids legs off and beat him over the head with them. I dont blame the kid, cuz hes just a kid. But I do blame the parents. I was just bummin' cuz we were heading home (tho' I couldn't wait to see Kevin) and tired and that was not the way to end the trip. Oh well.
All in all - it was a blast! I kept thinking - next time I'll be here - I'm getting MARRIED!!!
Thanks for reading everyone!
