modify hotel booking--keep same rate?

If I make a 3 day room only reservation for Jan and then later need to take a day off a few weeks out, will I keep my rate for the remaining 2 days, esp. if the hotel is fully booked at that time?

The rate actually varies by day. That being said, if you removed a day the rate for the remaining days would remain what it currently is. Your average cost per day might might be different since it's now two days rather than three but your cost for each day would be unchanged.

You can check the nightly rate by clicking "Rate Details" beneath your room category and then "View Rate Calendar" or there should be a rate breakdown in your confirmation e-mail. If you remove a Friday or Saturday from your reservation, the average nightly rate will go down, if you remove any other night, your average nightly rate will go up, but your actual rate per night won't change.

Thanks. I meant that the rate would not change to prevailing rage at the time of modification.

It depends on whether you get someone who is willing to help. The standard response is that you need to rebook at whatever is currently available as if you were a new booking. Many have had luck escalating the issue to guest relations.

Yes, if the two nights are in inventory when you are modifying, you can modify online. If the two nights are not showing up online, you would need to call to see if guest services will drop one night from your stay - YMMV. As far as your rate is concerned, terms and conditions state that the rate you booked is not guaranteed if you modify the reservation - again, if the rate differs when trying to modify, you can ask if guest services will help you keep your existing rate. When you call WDW, ask the reservation agent if they can transfer you to guest services - a regular reservation CM would not be able to do this modification for you if the dates you are trying to modify to are not in current inventory.
