When I modify within 7 months of trip, will I have the option to choose from different membership?
eta: modify to a non home resort.

No. That would be a way around the home resort priority booking period. The contract you used to book the reservation will show as locked when you attempt to modify so you cannot "unchoose" it.

I assumed the reservation was originally made during the home resort priority period. If you actually made the reservation after the 7 month window opened, then yes, you could modify and use different points.

If there is availability within seven months and you want to use a different membership, couldn’t you simply book with the other membership and cancel your original booking?

Just a warning , be very careful.

I had 7 nights at a 1 bedroom standard at BLT in Dec. Trying to move one night to BWV, I ended up cancelling the whole week. Within moments I realized what I did, but only got back 4 nights. I now spend at least an hour a day , every day, checking for any studio, 1 or 2 bedroom for those missing nights. About 5 weeks later, still nothing. I do have rooms at other resorts, so not homeless, but would like to stay in the same resort.

But perhaps I'm the only one who made this mistake, but thought I'd mentioned it just in case.

Yes, but be aware of banking deadlines & that cancellations made 30 days or less will result in holding points.

I want to make a 7 month resy with membership#1 but then modify using membership #2 because #2 is currently holding a reservation. I need to juggle reservations to get all banked points into the earliest reservation.
* when to bank points is proving a challenge and I have banked points in two separate reservations.

Yes I’m trying to juggle banked points into earliest resy. It’s proving complicated.

Points from two separate memberships cannot be joined to make or modify a reservation in one of those memberships absent first transferring points from one membership to another (and already banked points cannot be transferred). Thus, if you already have a reservation using banked points in one of the memberships, there is no way those banked points can be used to create or modify a reservation made in the other membership.

Modify changes the whole reservation. In your example, the system will change your 7 nights at BLT to the 1 night at BWV. It's all or nothing when it comes to modifying. For split stays, you can book the one night, then modify to shorten the stay.

Well I know that now. I thought I was changing one night.
