I’m obviously getting old because I am asking for new flatware for Christmas lol

I found this pattern that I like but it’s kind of pricy (ideally I’d like service for 12 but 8 will be ok for now)

Keep in mind that I’m Canadian so your cheap prices don’t translate well for us north of the border.

I like it! I think it has a nice holiday flair to it. In fact, picturing it with my own holiday dishware, I think I might like it too much, actually... :scratchin

I really like it. I need new flatware, mine is a bit of a random assortment at the moment but I never think to look for a new set.

Libertyware/CCK Stansbury. Purchased various pieces (including demitasse spoons and cocktail forks) from a restaurant supply store. Nothing fancy but a good, everyday piece to use. They're the kind that restaurants use, but not the thin kind made of flimsy materials. My parents actually asked me to get a dozen for them because they like the cocktail forks for entertaining guests - especially serving cakes.

I remember once I bought a single Oneida teaspoon (forgot the name) from an open stock bin at one of their outlet stores for less than a dollar. I looked up the retail price and it was maybe $12 for just that one piece.

I had no idea that my every day flatware was so expensive until I just looked it up. I still use the Oneida Paul Revere that my parents bought for our wedding almost 30 years ago. At the time, they had the same flatware and had used that as long as I could remember. They now have something else, and she gave me hers when they switched.

This is my everyday set though I seem to have lost most of my spoons.

I went looking for my set and I guess it's been discontinued...which really shouldn't surprise me. I think I've owned it for close to 15 years. I picked something simple that would age well and I haven't been disappointed. They are Reed and Barton, which I think is now owned by Lenox and the quality is great. P0000256565S0021T2.jpg

Very pretty. My flatware is a hodge podge. We got 12 place settings for a wedding present 10 years ago (nothing fancy, it was from Target), but somehow lots of the pieces have walked away. The first were the teaspoons, so I bought a pack of just spoons that are a close match to ours. Next, the large forks started walking and the ones I replaced those with don't even begin to match.

I guess it is about time for me to start thinking about new flatware too.

Not sure if you have QVC in Canada, but they have flatware often for great prices.

The one in your link comes in settings for 6 - I guess you'll end up with either one set or two (6 or 12). I like how it looks; kind of pretty and feminine in a way. :thumbsup2 Before I knew if I wanted it though I'd have to "feel" it to see how heavy it was. I prefer silverware with a little weight to the handles.

Me too, that’s why I’m not 100% sold on the pattern I like. It looks very flimsy. It’s almost impossible to find heavy flatware that does t look like a wedding gift lol

The Oneida is definitely heavier than the Cambridge. For comparison I just weighed a large spoon of each, and the Oneida is 2.1 oz while the Cambridge is 1.6 oz. The Cambridge is also more bendable - like I think it would bend scooping ice cream and the Oneida probably wouldn't nearly as easily because I can't bend it with my hand. I don't think the Cambridge feels completely flimsy, though, because I never noticed how bendable it was until I tried to with my hands. (The things I do to entertain myself on a Saturday night....:rotfl:)
