Moderators- You need to step up

I think that there are different types of Disney boards. And a good place for everyone. No sarcasm. I can be very sensitive so usually there are threads on the CB that can seem like a lot of pouncing for me. But that's for me. I can see that many love it. To each their own. And therefore I don't spend a lot of time here - on the CB.

I orginally came over here to DIS from another Disney board because it seemed like the Mods were jumping in all the time over there. "Now, now" kind of deal. And also sometimes I felt it was their own issue. I don't find that here at all. I appreciate the lack of moderating at times. Just letting the threads go where they may and of course close them when necessary.

I enjoy the balance here.

Life is waaay too short not to have a few laughs. And the first person I usually laugh at is myself. So you said wee instead of see, it's not the end of the world. (I've been there, so I know) I thought you were British and trying to tell us it was a small thread.

It's a shame your thread was moved from the welcome page (I think that's where it was this morning??) You were getting much more civilized and less "cliquey" responses then.

Did you not notice that two of the people who were joking apologized and said it was an honest mistake? yeah, people might be a bit sillier around here and there are times when you have to really have a flame suit on, but anyone who was joking was just having fun. It's been a little hard to find around here lately.

Some people on here can be very rude and harsh, but those, not you, are the ones that need help. These are people that are probably unhappy in their personal lives and try to spread their discontent to everyone else. You can't allow people that you've never met and you'll probably never meet to have control over your emotions. A high percentage of these people are probably cowards and would NEVER say some of these things to your face. If you are truly a nice person, then you should know that you feel sorry for internet bullies because they are .......... internet bullies. C'mon, don't take these clowns seriously. Your life and happiness is too important to let them get to you. Like Bawb would say, "They can't hit ya."

I think the mods do a great job that they don't get thanked enough for. Not many would be able to calmly and with clarity try to keep things running smoothly. I'm sure they must have to walk a fine line as to when to step in to certain situations or not. I appreciate not having "big brother" tell me what I can say and not say, and by the same token I appreciate it when a mod steps in to make things more respectful.

I agree with having a thick skin, the best thing a person can do if they feel berated or over their head is to just walk away, turn off the computer. Too many times I've seen people trying so desperately to get their point across only to be constantly burned. Not every troll-like comment needs another comment in return. And these thoughts have nothing to do with words on this particular thread, I'm speaking my thoughts as to what I've observed in general.

Well, since the OP is probably gone, she won't see this. I guess some of us "old-timers" have pretty thick skin, 'cause I don't see much controversy. (dang - I miss the debate board!)

If a topic bothers me, I just move on. In fact, I won't even open some threads. Life's too short to get involved in unpleasantness.

I'll jump in and apoligize to the OP too. I'm not cliquey and bff's with the jokers but I do under stand when they were coming from. They were just having a bit of fun. Really.

The CB has been a very depressing place the last few days and as a result those of us still around have gotten a little silly. We did it yesterday with coconuts. I'm sorry but WEE is funny. Yes it was an innocent type-o. I make them all the time, but they didn't know that. It was just funny. In fact I giggle every time I say it.

Really we are just looking for things to make us smile. In all honesty you should be happy. Look at all the posters you made giggle and smile. I'd rather do that any day.

More civilized and less cliquey??? I have a close group of friends. Only one has posted on here, and she isn't the one I'm making most of the jokes with. It isn't about cliques, it's about having noticed how others post and having a little fun. Fun is less civilized? Fine with me, I'll be a neanderthal if I can laugh about it, because otherwise what is the point of trying to live life?

May I respectfully ask if you have been here the past week?

Respectfully back at you, and just being curious, I've tried to work through the posts, have watched as many posts have been deleted, and tried to piece together what may or may not have happened. As an "outsider" looking in, it's a lot of drama and hearsay with a lot of opinionated (and I mean that in a good way) people fighting back. I appreciate friends standing up for friends. All I can see in the past few days if that there are a lot of hurt people, which is unfortunate, but I don't have enough information from either side to pass judgment as to who's right or wrong. From what I've seen the mods have been very respectful. I realize this sentiment has not been shared by many recently, but I only have my own experience to fall back on.
