Mobile order not working for me

We are here now. Been trying to use mobile order for the past several days. I always get the “oops something went wrong…” message. I’ve tried multiple phones, my cc and debit. I’ve deleted the card and added it again as well as deleting/reinstalling the app (all suggested by the Disney chat rep). After that didn’t work, they suggested contacting the help portion on the app which I did 2 days ago but haven’t heard anything. It’s been mostly fine. We can usually order at the registers and get our food with just a little wait. But today I really wanted a lunch box tart at Woody’s Lunchbox. The guy treated me like I was an idiot since I couldn’t order. I took him through my process, explained I’ve had issues all along and already tried troubleshooting. He definitely wouldn’t let me go and order one at the counter. I mean I get that others have ordered and are waiting for their pick up time. It’s not my fault that I’m not able to do it. It’s super annoying!! Has this happened to anyone else? Any tips?

Wow sounds like you've done what you need to. Maybe stop by Guest Relations (like at City Hall at MK)or and see if they can help you. I'm thinking being there in person might garner more help or get you a 'get out jail free" card if you have to order in person.

What phone are you using and what OS are you running?

Guest relations is always busy unfortunately. I have an iPhone XR with 14.6 iOS. It’s up to date. I don’t feel like my phone is that old. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I had the same problem this past December but I had a 6s lol! It was really frustrating having to explain every time I couldn’t mobile order and they were not very understanding about it. I ended up logging in on my DHs phone which is much newer and had no problems. I hope you were able to fix the problem!

Mobiel Order is a menace! I read yesterday where Universal is removing it. I hope Disney follows suit.

Good luck. They are definitely supposed to allow you to order if you can't do it on the phone, though they do try to encourage you to do the former. I hope you have better luck with the CM at Satu-li.

I don't have a problem with them offering mobile order as it is a good tool but the problem is with them mandating it. The fact that they wouldn't let the OP go up to order after explaining is ridiculous. Where is the Disney customer service they were once known for??

As for the Universal mobile order it is fine as well except that it doesn't speed anything up. You have to get into the quick service place to order anyway so I don't know why they bother. In the future if it makes things quicker then I would be all for it.

I don't mind the concept either, but forcing everybody onto it and allowing orders so far in advance makes it too unweildy. Want lunch at 11? Better order at 7 AM - that's just ridiculous. If walk up were still an option then you wouldn't have to do that.

We'll eat offsite, for the most part, if walk-ups are not an option. We have a car, so we don't have to do QS at WDW.

that is a strawman argument. You don’t have to order at 7am to eat at 11.

You will spend easily 2 hours leaving the park and returning to avoid using mobile order? Talk about cutting off your nose to spite your face. (Also walk ups are an option so this is another strawman)

Maybe not all the time, but when it is busy it did in fact happen that there were no time slots available at certain venues - some for the entire day. It absolutely happened, and I witnessed several people at HS queuing up for a hot-dog cart complaining that they couldn't order anywhere else to eat right away. I think they have alleviated that somewhat through more bandwidth. Disneyland went through the same when they first reopened too, with very few locations offering walk-up service.

There were lots of options at HS on Memorial Day weekend with little to no wait. The only one that got way backed up was Woody's Lunchbox. We did Ronto Roasters immediately and had food within 5 min. It was WAY better than standing in line. There is no need to order at 7am for lunch, even on crowded days. I can't comment on what it was like prior to Memorial Day, but it certainly wasn't an issue then (and it was BUSY).

Then they have improved things some since I was there in early May. HS was the only place that was a problem for us as it is the most popular right now with fewer operational locations for food, but there have been a lot of reports on here about issues like that going back to when they implemented it as mandatory. Disneyland when it reopened was so popular that all time slots were filling up early, and when Avengers Campus opened - forget about it! They were definitely selling all availability early, and by not allowing walk-ups it really leaves people in a tough spot.

They are handling the same number of customers per hour at peak either way. In the walk up model, a) the excess customers go elsewhere because the lines are too long and b) every customer has to wait in line. In the mobile order world, the same number of people eat at peak times and more people eat at non peak times. No one has to wait long. More people are in a "tough spot" in the walk up model and more people get to eat in the mobile order model. It's very clearly superior, just like a virtual queue is clearly superior to a physical line.

What is a straw man argument? Cause you make it sound like I am right and you are wrong type of thing and I’m sure thats not so

I simply do not agree. When people aren't aware of the need to mobile order or, like the OP, have a technical difficulty, it creates problems when they want to eat but can't because there is no availability because it all filled up hours ago. People need to eat - they have to be able to get it somewhere. If the line is long, you make a decision to wait of look elsewhere. When mobile order is full, it's full and there is no recourse.

Don't even get me started on teh Virtual Queeu for rides like Rise of the Resistance. Having to punch in at 7:00 AM to the nanosecond or else you are not riding is not superior to being able to enter the park, and line up for the ride, even if the line is long. That's a decision you can make.

What is a straw man argument? Cause you make it sound like I am right and you are wrong type of thing and I’m sure thats not so

It means that someone posting an argument, in this case me, is misrepresenting something so that it looks worse than it is and is easier to argue against. While it is true that it doesn't always happen that you have to order lunch first thing in the morning, it HAS happened, and it is totally unacceptable to me for that to ever be the case.
