Mobile order not working for me

What is a straw man argument? Cause you make it sound like I am right and you are wrong type of thing and I’m sure thats not so

Straw-man argument is a logical fallacy, in which one misrepresents the opposing argument in a way that makes it easy to refute (the name comes from the idea of building a straw man and then easily knocking it down).

There are "winners" and "losers" in any order scheme. For this one, 1st timers are probably in the "big loser" category b/c they don't know better about ordering (they don't know to order at 7am to get Woody's - they just want to try a toaster tart in Toy Story Land - how hard can that be?). Last time I checked, Disney was looking to keep encouraging that group of very big spenders to come...

We were at Universal last week and their system was crazy!! We didn’t even try to do quick service in the parks. The lines were always really long outside the restaurant doors of people waiting to find a table so they could order. The one time we did mobile order was Voodoo Doughnuts at night and we waited an hour and 40 minutes for those doughnuts!

Sadly, I knew to order ahead (especially for Woody’s) but it just wasn’t in the cards for us the other day. We’ve been to the parks many times over the years. Last trip was 2 years ago. There wasn’t a lot of mobile ordering happening then but they did have it.

They canceled their system for all but 2 places now, and are back to regular order and lines...

You will spend easily 2 hours leaving the park and returning to avoid using mobile order? Talk about cutting off your nose to spite your face. (Also walk ups are an option so this is another strawman)
Nope (not a strawman). We leave property to eat after we've finished with the parks for the day. No two hours involved, and usually much better food at more reasonable prices. Same for sit-down.

That's great, but has nothing to do with mobile order. What you said before was that IF they required mobile order, then you were leaving the parks to eat. Now, you are just saying you leave to eat period, which is very different.

I don't mind the concept either, but forcing everybody onto it and allowing orders so far in advance makes it too unweildy. Want lunch at 11? Better order at 7 AM - that's just ridiculous. If walk up were still an option then you wouldn't have to do that.
I agree, the big problem is with the mandating when you have an issue. They should be able to help you order something.

Except there are are definitely times when walk ups are not allowed as evidenced by the OP. I'm sure this will improve over time as more staff are hired and added to the quick service and table service places.

They are handling the same number of customers per hour at peak either way. In the walk up model, a) the excess customers go elsewhere because the lines are too long and b) every customer has to wait in line. In the mobile order world, the same number of people eat at peak times and more people eat at non peak times. No one has to wait long. More people are in a "tough spot" in the walk up model and more people get to eat in the mobile order model. It's very clearly superior, just like a virtual queue is clearly superior to a physical line.
I agree that waiting in a mobile line is nicer than the physical lines. But again there should be a way to order if you are having problems with the app. It is just good customer service.

When I was at Universal last September there were definitely quick service restaurants that had no wait. It really is the Harry Potter restaurants that were the largest wait. So I'm sure that is still the same for now. You can definitely get food at multiple places in Universal that I'm sure are easier.

Haven’t gotten the mobile order to work for me. But I did get my lunch box tart today. 😂The lady working there was very friendly.

I'm so glad that worked out, and that you found a friendly CM when you needed one!

I just want to add, to anyone who's worried after reading the Saga of the Lunch Box Tart (lol), if there's one CS restaurant that's most likely to be difficult in all of WDW, Woody's Lunchbox is it. Sometimes it is really hard to get a time slot there (especially at lunchtime), and the CMs are probably more vigilant about making guest use mobile order. It's not typical of every CS in WDW, but it might take more thought and effort than the others.

Okay, I hope I can maybe help. I had trouble in April and a CM told me I had to be using WDW wifi to do it. Fingers crossed for you!

I had to look it up, and I have a Master's degree. Maybe it is a regional saying.
