what do people do to save thier energy for a Halloween party day? Not go to a park? Go to Disney springs? Or just rest until party time ? Don't want worn out kids! Thanks

For us, we like to go to each park twice on our trip. So we might go to Animal Kingdom in the morning and then the party at night. But ideally we like to have enough days on our vacation so that we don't have to go to a park in the morning. In that case, we'll go to the pool or maybe Disney Springs.

Last year my daughter and I went to Hollywood Studios (were staying at Yacht Club so a short boat ride) for rope drop and rode Tower of Terror I think 3 times and Rock n Roller coaster once while my wife and son slept in. Daughter and I then headed back to the resort around 10:30 and we all lounged around the pool until about 2:00, when we headed over to Magic Kingdom for an early dinner/late lunch at 3:15 at The Plaza. We had FP for rides after The Plaza and did those and then party stuff once it started. That worked pretty well for us.

We're going to the halloween party on our last night. We have plans to sleep in, maybe do some pool time, maybe hit Disney Springs and get there right for 4pm when they start letting us in. Have a couple of fastpasses lined up and dinner at CRT, then start the party. That way we're not tired to stay up late till the end of the night. We thought about going to a park in the AM and we decided against it since we're doing it hard the rest of the week. But if you are, I would prioritize a break in the room after an AM park.

We might hit up a park in the morning, but only for a little bit... but for the most part we just relax and make it an anything kind of day. This year, I might go to Epcot for a few rides, or just relax at the pool since we have an early dinner at Hoop Dee Doo, and plan to be at the boat dock to FW by 3pm, to get there for 4pm.

Last year we relaxed at the pool, had lunch and headed to MK around 3:30. It was a very relaxing day!

We are going to breakfast at AKL, Boma 9:00. Look around the lodge. Back to our resort for some pool time and relax. Head to MNSSHP around 4. We have a 5:30 res at the plaza so we can eat before the party. Then its Party time!

It's the busiest day on our calendar. We've scheduled breakfast at Chef Mickey's that morning, Lunch at Liberty Tree Tavern at 12:35 p.m., and an early dinner at Be Our Guest at 4:55 p.m. Probably not gonna get the most bang for our buck because of how overly stuffed we'll be, but we have pretty health appetites.

I think the plan will be to either go back to the resort after breakfast or after lunch. That'll give us a couple of hours before we have to head back to MK. We may just spend the entire day actively resting in the park though. I would envision a lot of rounds with the PeopleMover, PhilharMagic, or Country Bear Jamboree if that happens. :P

We've scheduled the next day as a rest day anyway. No rest for the wicked, and that's exactly what we are at MNSSHP.

The Halloween party is the most important thing we are doing this trip so I want my kids to participate! They are 5 and 8. I want to save thier energy :)

We had plans to hang out at the pool before the party, but instead we did this:

We were staying at POR. We ate breakfast at POR around 10:00 and then we walked around the resort for a bit. We then took a boat over to POFQ and walked around there for a little bit. We got some gumbo and beignets! We then walked back to our resort and got ready for the party (put on our costumes) and soaked up some AC. We headed to the buses at 3:00. When we got to MK, there two really long lines waiting to get into the party.

I think you need to have a chill day planned before the party so you can enjoy the party to the fullest!

Happy Planning!

It's our busiest day as well, but we have a light day before and after. And with activities spread out throughout our MNSSHP day (CRT breakfast, Pirate's League...) there's enough to keep the kids occupied and still have in park breaks throughout. My fear of taking them back to the hotel is that they'll cash out for the day. As long as I keep mine engaged they're good to power through a full day. Besides, they are still on the young side, so I wouldn't feel right keeping them at the party past 10:30/11 really anyway.

I don't blame you. There's a lot to take in over a relatively short period of time. I'd definitely recommend keeping it light, but I'd show up to the park earlier in the check-in time period rather than pushing it too close to the party's 7 p.m. start time. Are you guys trick-or-treating? Doing character meet and greets?

That's always the concern with taking them back to the hotel. And I always see people recommending swimming during those down times, but if your kids are anything like my 13-year-old cousin then nothing exhausts them more than swimming.

I'm leaning more towards keeping it light at the parks throughout the day to the point where we conserve enough energy for the party. Given his age and fondness of Halloween, I think we'll be toughing it out until closing time.

I wanna get there 4-5 ish. We have BOG reservations and yes we will be trick or treating in between shows. :) if we swim early in the day we are napping before party time. Swimming drains my kids too.

Well, we didn't take kids. We were up around 3:30am to get on a flight at 7am to Orlando. Checked in, took a short rest before heading to Disney Springs for lunch. Got to MK by 3:30 in the afternoon and we were go go go all night. Didn't leave the parks until after 1am and back to our room and going to bed at 2:30am, so we were up for 23 hours straight! No rest here, lol.

Sounds like you have a good handle on it. Enjoy!

We are 2 adults and I like to save money by using this event ticket as another day ticket for the park. So we are sure to be at MK by 4pm. But before that, we enjoy having a later sit down breakfast time at Ohanas (we love character meals!) and swimming and/or napping.
