Ok.. so Tuesday Sept 1st or Friday Sept 4th? Would either actually sell out? Which has the best chance of being less crowded?

I can just go on my experience. We attended the 1st party on 9/1 last year and it was definitely NOT sold out, not even close. The crowd was amazingly light! OF course when it was time for Hallowishes or a parade it seemed crowded but otherwise there were no lines for rides or even trick or treat stations. We've been to parties in mid-Oct. before and those were definitely more crowded.
I believe Fridays tend to be more crowded than weekday parties since more locals may go. However, I think the first party being so early last year surprised a lot of people, whereas this year more were looking for it as a possibility on that date. Therefore Sept. 1st might be more crowded this year than last. But, the 4th is the beginning of Labor day weekend so that one might be more crowded than the 1st. Still not sure either would sell out though.
Sorry, guess I wasn't much help lol!!!!

No, that is definitely helpful. I've been to the party twice, both times in late Sept. I was already leaning towards the 1st before I typed the question. I'm just trying to get an idea what everyone thinks. I'm hoping for an incredibly light event on the first. With the whole FP+ issue, I want to guarantee I can ride Splash at least 5 times.

WHen we were at the party a few years ago, we went to Splash about a half hour before the party ended. We were the ONLY people on the ride. No one in line anywhere. We rode it 4 times in a row w/o getting out of the boat. We had to get off b/c they had to close.

I'm looking to recreate this! :)

Our last full day in the parks is 9/4 (we fly home 9/5) but I'm starting to think the party on 9/4 will be more crowded since it is the Friday of Labor Day weekend. But I would love to do it that night. Decisions decisions!

This would be our first MNSSHP.

Well I'll tell you, we rode Splash around 7:45 with no wait at the first party last year, and around 10:15 when we went on BTMRR there was a posted 5 min. wait. Then around 11:00 we rode Splash with no wait and would have ridden again but we wanted to do another M & G and go on 7DMT, which at that time had a posted wait of 20 minutes and ended up being about 3 minutes :) When we rode splash at 11 we just walked right in. We were in the boat by ourselves, a few other people were walking behind us and when we got off there were maybe 6 people waiting to board.

We are going our last full park day!! I just think it's such a great way to end our trip. Either way have a great time! If you decide to go on sept 1 let me know!!

we always do the Tuesday party except for last year. Now that we have done both i can definitely says the Tuesday party is less crowded. Its not a huge difference but i would assume the closer you get to Halloween the more it would impact the crowd level. Since your going the first week of September i think you will be fine no matter what day you choose ! Have fuN!

I say go on the fourth the first night people will make it crazy and packed as everyone wants to be the first but no one ever the second!

Hmmm ok I thought last time the fort party was sold out no??? If you can get it on a weekday too go for it.

Look at my thread on my experience you MUST go it's amazing time

If my guest list thread from last year is accurate, none of the early September parties sold out last year.

I think last year's first MVMCP sold out; this thread is about MNSSHP. Also, your thread is about MVMCP, isn't it?

Yes it wasn't crowded at all and definitely wasn't sold out. I remember smitch's guest list thread, and for the longest time I was one of like 3 people on it attending the first party! Like I said before, it was crowded in the hub for Hallowishes but that'll happen regardless of how many people are there. And even though I said it seemed crowded at parade time, in reality we walked up to the 1st parade, outside the Diamond Horseshoe, just before the headless horseman came by and got a front row spot - never happened before lol. 7DMT had only been open about 4 months I believe, and from what we saw the longest wait all night was 20-25 minutes posted. Not bad for a new ride. Even the line for Jack and Sally was reasonable; we got on at 6:10 and were done before 7:30. Most parties you need to get on line well before 5:30, but nobody was even on line yet at 5:15 when we went by. Walked up to see Jafar and the Old Hag, no lines.
I could give some more examples but you get the idea - no crowds :thumbsup2 Again I think the early date took a lot of people by surprise. And I think some people may feel its too early to celebrate Halloween. It did feel a bit weird but I love MNSSHP so much I'd do it in July ::yes::

For those of you that went in September was grumpy available for meet and greets?? He is the only reason I am allowing my otherwise perfect attendance kids to miss a week of school.

will the end of sept. Be lighter crowds then end of october?

The dwarfs are available for meet and greets as a group. No autographs though, only pictures.

Any chance of 1 on 1 photo op with a certain drawf??

Will the be on the fp+?

I've never heard of anyone getting a photo with just one dwarf, and there aren't any FPs available for parties. Also, because the parties are the only opportunity to meet the dwarfs, they're a very popular meet and greet. From what I've read, people start lining up for them about 5:30, 6:00.

:( we are only doing 1 party.

Was hoping with the new ride that the dwarfs would have their own meet and greets..

Ok if no singles photos will he get to stand next to and hug on grumpy?
