MNSSHP What Costume are You Wearing?

So far my DD14 has said no to all my costume ideas ( it will be just the 2 of us on this trip ) I was going to make a fireworks costume for me, and have her be tinkerbell, we were both going to be pirates, santas elves....everything was no I was tempted to just get a t-shirt for myself that said " my daughter wouldn't let me wear a costume " So I got another idea ( I'm hoping she goes for it ): Jane and Judy Jetson - I think it would be so cool

My wife is wearing a snow white costume and I am wearing my jack skellington t-shirt. we are going in september and I find it way too hot to wear an actual costume. We can't wait.

My DH is going as a Pirate (again) and my girls (12 & 13) still are unsure.....At first, the oldest wanted to be Tink, but the adult costumes are too sexy for a 13 year old, and the other one was thinking Pirate again, too.
I was thinking about Wonder Woman or Ursula, but I'm not sure how I can pull off Ursula.....
I've got 56 days left to think about it, which seems like a lot of time, but it really isn't!

DS4 will be 'Jack Sparrow'. I need to find a pirate costume for a 12mo old for DS1.

My friend will help me make a pirate costume for me. DH will buy the Pirate hat from the ride when we get there that has the black dreds on it. We took a pic of him in that hat last time (with a great pirate 'sneer') and he wishes he would have bought it.

Anyone know the rules on 'weapons'. He has a plastic sword that goes with it but not sure what's allowed.

It has taken a lot of time to put these costumes together, but they're gonna be really cool. Can't wait!!!

If she doesn't go for that maybe you could try going as two of the original Charlie's Angels (this seems to work with teen girls). I know how much of a bummer teen girls can be (they're VERY concerned with being cool, ya know.. ).

I've been following this thread and you all have such good ideas. Anyone want to try and help us? I have been racking my brain trying to come up with something our group will wear. It has to be cool, my mom and I have problems with too much heat. Our group will be my mom (60something), me 40, DD12 and DS10. My kids don't know we're going. I'm hoping to NOT tell them until we are at the airport. So their input won't be involved. Believe me, they will be so thrilled we're going they won't car what we wear. We are going to MNSSHP on Oct 2. What in the world could we wear???????

Im going as Belle (yellow dress) and my brother is either going as Buzz or Woody who knows with him! He's 5 so he changes his mind every few minutes lol My mom and dad are undecided but i want them to go as the old ghost couple in Haunted Mansion but that got shot down, oh well!

Here we are as wild "cats n dogs" with my dad (the I don't wear costumes guy) as the "dog catcher". If you want to recreate this look, I recommend putting the animal control on the front of the shirt because many people didn't see the back of my dad's shirt? This is an easy costume to make, you can go with just brown shirt and shorts, a tale and the face accessories.

And here is the Disney picture of me and DH as aliens. We got many comments and lots of attention that night! Too bad you just can't see all the things that light up and glow on us in these pictures.

I made these costumes for MNSSHP last year and we had a ball! As a general rule, I never use the same costumes twice but I just couldn't think of anything better. Oh well, it saved me a lot of work and $$$. I'll probably just tweek them a bit.

I love the haunted mansion ghosts idea!!

For the pp who wanted some ideas, how about an "under the sea" theme? We will most likely be doing this for our real halloween at home. Dh and I will be fishermen (can make this a not so hot costume) and the kids will be whatever under the sea creature they want (mermaid, fish, shark, crab, etc...) Or animals on the farm. We did this a few years ago. Dh and I were the farmers and the kids were animals. Just a few ideas! I love Halloween!!

I made these costumes for MNSSHP last year and we had a ball! As a general rule, I never use the same costumes twice but I just couldn't think of anything better. Oh well, it saved me a lot of work and $$$. I'll probably just tweek them a bit.

We're going on 10/2 and I've been racking my brain trying to come up with costume ideas that a) won't be too hot and b) DH will agree to wear! This is a surprise for the kids, so no input there - although, that may be for the best!! I'll have to keep checking back here to see if I can steal any of your wonderful ideas!!

Going Oct 31st and DD (4) wants to be a princess. So my DW is making us "royal" costumes but with a Canadian flair. I'll be a knight with a red and white tunic with a maple emblem and my DD's and DW will be Queen/Princesses with red and white dresses and maple leafes on them.

sorry no hockey sticks coming with us ...
