MNSSHP-Tips, Tricks, Secrets newbies should know (from the 2009 party!)

We went to MNSSHP on 9/22, and it was just great. We all had a blast!

I am attaching two pics, though, that were puzzling. I thought some of you Disney experts here would know what these are about!

The first is a picture of a gravedigger at the parade. On the back of his shovel is a word - it looks like "Jasmine" or at least the "asmine" part of that. I wondered why that would be?

The other picture is not a good one. I apologize. But I was wondering if anyone knows who this character is - the guy in the blue and black hat.

That second picture is Frollo. He is also in the Villains stage show. I believe he is from Hunchback.

That's it! Thank you! It's been driving us crazy. It's been a really long time since I've seen Hunchback of Notre Dame.

While we're on a roll, who is that fox guy next to him? I know I have seen that character before but I can't place him either.

(That's one thing that's fun about the Halloween party - seeing some more unusual characters!)

how do you know where the line will be? is it marked? i want to see snow white and the 7 dwarves, it's just somewhere by the teacups.. anyone know specifically where? thanks!

The line started against the fence just down from Pooh's character spot, kind of on the way to Toontown. Just find one of the CM's in the area (the ones working the Pooh lines should do) and ask them where to start the line. This one stays busy all night, so better to start early!

The fox guy is Foul Fellow from Pinnochio. :thumbsup2

Thank you all for posting your pictures and tips! We are going on Oct. 13th and very excited. Could someone please tell me if the stroller rentals are free for party ticket holders? This was mentioned a few pages ago but there wasn't a clear answer. We went last year and they were not free. Thanks!

Was hoping someone could help with this: My DH was looking at a Jack Skellington costume, but it has a mask that would completely cover his head. Is this allowed at Disney? :confused3 I vaguely remember something about no masks. If that is the case, I guess he will go as the Mad Hatter instead. I am going as Minnie, but we didn't like the Mickey costume for him. My DS, 11, is going as an eclectic soccer player.

Thanks for the help.

We went to the party Tuesday and Thursday last week. We got in line early for Snow White Tuesday and the carriage Thursday. We got in the carriage line around 6:15 and were pleasantly surprised to find them let everyone start aroudn 6:30. We were done by 6:45 and able to go start our evening elsewhere. Here's an example of the daytime photo. I wanted to go back later for a night photo, but never made it.

Great pictures and costumes! I'd love to hear your SnowWhite experience and see a picture :) My DD is going as SnowWhite so I'd like to get her picture with the Dwarves at least.

Never mind - I didn't look far enough into the thread! :sad2: I'll go back and look now :lmao:

We were 4th in line for Snow White that night. It was LONG and started early (partly my fault probably....) But if you get in line early, you can minimize how much actual party time you take up to see them. Here's our photo:

Thursday night (10/1) we got done early at the carriage photo op. We were headed over to get in line for Mickey and Minnie, and noticed at 6:45 that there were only 3 or 4 people in line for Snow and the dwarfs. Since my daughter was wearing her Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs skirt set, she wanted to get in line again. I was hesitant, but glad we did. They got a big kick out of being featured on the skirt!

Your pictures turned out SO GREAT!! I hope ours turn out as well - did a CM take them on your camera? And your costumes came out awesome! DGrD(6) and I are also going one night as Snow White and the Evil Queen - it was her request;). So far I have found a very comfortable, sleeveless, long purple dress and a lightweight black cape. Now I have to figure out how to add the white collar and concoct a 'good enough' head cap and crown - oh, and pick up some gold cording for a sash. If I get really energetic I may even trim my cape in gold. I stand in awe of your creative sewing ability:worship: Our second night we are going as Ariel and Ursula - guess who gets to wear the Ursula costume:rotfl: If you think you go to great lengths for your daughter, just wait until your first grandchild comes along;):lovestruc!! I am also worried about being too warm in these full costumes - how did you fare? I have been to several MNSSHP, but only in Sept., first week of Oct and it was still HOT! We are going the 20th and 22nd this year - hoping it might be a bit cooler (but having lived many years in FL I know it's a long shot). Thanks again for sharing your pics.
Any others tips for characters at MNSSHP? We are hoping to meet different fairies and of course we need Ariel - and are hoping she is with Eric!

We're here now and going Tues 10/6! I'm so excited and anxiously awaiting! I just can't find the right tee-shirt I want, from what I saw on the merchandise video provided. I DID buy my Minnie/Witch/Ears hat! That's my costume for now and, some Mickey pumpkin earrings. DD is going as the 'witchie' girl from Camp Rock (LOL), 21yoDS will be wearing SOMETHING Jack Skellington and, DH - I have no clue. :confused3 EXCITED THO!! BOO TO YOU~~

We were there 10/2, and strollers were NOT free.

Our Snow White pics are above in post 1640. If you want to do it, just get in line REALLY early or you'll spend too much party time on it. Have fun!

I also think they don't want people in full masks, but we did see some as we walked around the park. I personally wouldn't recommend it just because you don't know how hot it will be.

Thanks! I took the pictures of my daughter with Snow and her Dwarfs, but had the CM's take the ones with me in them. There are several CM's at the front of the line and they are more than happy to help.

It was EXTREMELY hot that Tuesday the 29th. I had to put the costume on at the last minute and immediately take it off. I put it on again for pics with the Evil Queen after the Villains stage show. I think they set a record that day for high temp. And the humidity was HORRIBLE. But I had an Evil Queen shirt on underneath and wore my crown all night. It was still a lot of fun.

The Ariel/Ursula pair sounds great too! We didn't get into the Ariel or fairies line that night. I really dont' like to do things during the party that you can do during regular park hours. I don't think she's with Eric. I believe that was something special for the Pirate and Princess party only.

The Villains come down for pics after the stage shows. If you're looking for someone specific, ask the CM's near the stage where they will be. Maleficent is at the far right and stays behind the rope. The others are down in front of the stage with no rope. The Snow Queen is around second from the left. After the show right ahead of the fireworks, they were only out for a few minutes. They stay out longer after the others.

Mickey and Minnie are in their houses. The line is long, but moved fairly quickly.

The Queen and White Rabbit switch off every half hour with the Tweedles. We saw the Queen/Rabbit, then went right back in line and saw the Tweedles. Alice was at the start of the Treat trail. We didn't find the Mad Hatter that night. They said he was switching off with Alice.

Lady Tremaine and the steps are out in Fairytale Garden several times for photos, autographs and candy handouts.

Let me know if you have other character questions!

Ariel leaves her grotto before 7. We got there just before 7 and were told that she was gone and would not make an appearance at the party. You can imagine our disappointment as DD5 was dressed as Ariel. We were told by a CM at the Plaza restaurant that she would be there throughout the party, but that was incorrect.

So go to her grotto between 4 and 7.
