MNSSHP-Tips, Tricks, Secrets newbies should know (from the 2009 party!)

Snow White was there with all the dwarfs at the 9/18 party. The line was over a block long to wait to see them. They had them around a bench and you could sit with them for a picture. It was really cute!

I wonder how long that wait would be? i know they do autographs-- just pictures. do you know if there is a photopass person there?

do they stay out the whole night or take breaks every 20 minutes?

I haven't seen this one posted: If you watch the parade from Frontier Land, be sure and stand facing the river--in front of the porches of Country Bears, Diamond Horseshoe etc. . . .They light the parade with floodlights on top of the buildings and it makes it a little bit difficult to see and really difficult to get good photos if you are facing them.

Oh! That's a very helpful tip. My sister and I like to watch parades (well, Spectro) from the bridge in front of Splash Mountain; as I'm a good 5 inches shorter than she is, so I stand on the little border there and she can see fine where she is. We may need to rethink that!

We were there on 9/4. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs just did pictures, no autographs. They took breaks. I don't know how often tho. We saw the line a few times and waited until the end of the night when the line was shorter. There weren't any photopass people there. We handed our camera to a CM and she took our pic. No interaction or anything. Just pics. Still worth the time, it's a great picture! :cool1:

i say do like we did, walk by the dwarves and take a picture of them w/ someone else or try to get them between people.....just sayin' not worth an hour of my party time, to each their own:)

I will just say that for anyone who is not sure about going...GO! We had a blast last night. The crowds weren't that bad (pretty much what I had imagined) and we were able to do everything we wanted for the most part. We got to MK around 4:15, rode a few rides, got pics with Mickey & Minnie before they had to "get in their costumes" and hit the tea cups about 6:40 (walk-on as were most other rides!). I saw a CM near the exit and asked where Snow White & the 7 dwarfs would be and she told me they would be right behind the teacups. Our group started the line at 6:45 and got our pics 1st at 7:30. From there DH & I went to see Minnie (line was about 20 min) while everyone else hit the Mad Hatters Treat Trail. Mickey was really long so we skipped that and headed down the treat trail, hit the dance party with Pluto and Goofy, met the Queen of Hearts and Rabbit, hit more candy spots then headed to Haunted Mansion. On the way there we saw Cinderella's Coach but didn't get in line to take pics bc it was really long. We got the Ghost pic at the HM carriage then got the "hitchhiking ghost" magic shot close to there. By this time it was almost 9:10 so we headed to the hub for Hallowishes. It was AMAZING! As soon as it was over we got a front row spot for the 2nd parade. I had a perfect view of the headless horseman (and all the other floats)!!! After the parade we rode Splash Mountain twice without getting off then Big Thunder Mountain. We went through a few more candy trails and they were giving out a lot more by that time. We all had more than enough candy and some awesome memories to last a lifetime!

Off to bed so I can head to Epcot in the morning...we are having a blast!!!! I'll post pics when I get home next week!

You will see several people enter the park dressed for MNSSHP at 4pm, unless it is really hot, then you see less until closer to 7pm. On the 27th you should see many people already dressed.

Need INFO & can't read the entire thread b/c DS doesn't know we are going to WDW!!!! ONLY ON PG 16.(he keeps coming in the study & I can't minimize the screen fast enough.)

If you only go for MNSSHP, is there a stroller rental discount since you aren't there the whole day & you have paid for the party?

Stoller rental used to be free during the parties or least that is what someone told me one night when we were there. She asked me why I brought my own.

Is there a list of the characters that sign autographs at the party? Is it possible to get all of them in one night?

We will be there for the 10/8 party. I will be Forrest Gump, DW will be a pirate & DD will be Dopey ... a motley group, I know:rotfl2:

The local Dollar Tree in the mall has some nice Disney Halloween window clings featuring the fab five and some fall window clings with Pooh & the gang. We bought some to decorate our room at All-Star Movies.

Does anybody know if Brer Rabbit & Brer Bear are doing character greetings at the Halloween Party? I heard they were at BTMR in the past and they are my DW's favorite characters.

Has anyone here experienced MNSSHP during a downpour or even just a lot of rain? I just read the long-range forcast for the night we're going, and thunderstorm predictions are high.

It's never stopped us in the past -- grab a poncho and go, but I'm not sure how much it affects the party.

Thanks.

Which night is that? LOL We're doing MNSSHP 10/1...the whole week so far isn't looking good. I'm hoping it's the normal afternoon Sept showers that are showing up everyday...and all except that hour or so will be clear & perfect (if hot LOL).

does anyone know if these are two different things? I've seen the picture photoshopped in by Disney when you pose in front of the hearse.

1. Can you getr that as your free one?

Also is there another spot where the hitch-hiking ghosts are photoshopped in also?

2. can you get that as your free 5x7?

We did a Pirate & Princess Party in the rain. They delayed the fireworks for about thirty minutes, but after the rain stopped it was great. The rain really cleared out the park. I have great pictures of the fireworks and there are only about twelve people in the streets. The rain also created some great shots with all of the special lighting.

IMHO, a one hour thunderstorm can actually help you have a great vacation at WDW.:thumbsup2: The uninitiated park visitors make a mass exodus for their hotel or restaurants outside the parks and once the rain clears, you have the place to yourself.

Like we tell our DD, a rainy day at Disney is better than a sunny day anywhere else!:cool1:

I was at MNSSHP last year and it POURED! We had ponchos and basically got wet. :lmao: We probably spent 15 mins under an overhang, near some bathrooms with other guests until the rain let up. In hindsight, we didn't get to get as many pictures as we wanted, but we rode the rides in Frontierland as walk on again and again. In the sprinkling rain was the most fun! We were on the rides when they did the fireworks, so that was fun to see them.

The parade was delayed only slightly if at all. The CM's said they thought it would still go as long as it wasn't pouring. It was only sprinkling when it started.

Our feeling was...yep, it's raining. Yep, we will get wet. BUT, we are at Disney...how bad could it really be?? :confused3:rotfl: We did as much as we could and enjoyed every second of it! I hope this year I can get more pictures in though.

The pictures are two separate things. The one is right in front of the Haunted Mansion. The other is a little bit down the path towards where the riverboat docks along the water.

You can get either one as your free 5'7, we picked one with us in front of the castle because all of our nighttime Halloween pictures turned out bad.

Who already had been there, please let me know:

1) Is easy to get a stroller during the party and are they for free @ MNSSHP (even the doubles?)???

2) Any other treat than candies ? I mean stickers, toys (i read somewhere toothbrushs were among items).. If so, what and where... One kid in our party can´t eat ANY sugar and she is sooo nice to understand and accept this and even being ok to attend. She even have her costume and will T& T and give all candies to her siblings. such a special little girl!!

I REALLY would like her to have SOMETHING in T&T she could be surprised.

If I bring some no sugar treats, do you think CM will be ok to give it to her without her knowing it came from me?

Simone.

OK, why is this the first I'm hearing of a free 5x7? :confused3:rotfl:

I thought I'd read it all!

How does this work? Does your party ticket get you a free pic?
