MNSSHP-Tips, Tricks, Secrets newbies should know (from the 2009 party!)

So now the question is....WHO ON THIS THREAD IS GOING ON 9/4??

We want to hear updates on everything as soon as you come back!!!!

I'd also like to see the new map if anyone would be so kind as to post that when they return also.

I'll be attending my first MNSSHP on 9/4 and will post when I get back. However, I won't be back in work until 9/14, so won't be able to scan the map until then.

Just jumped on now. Glad to know I am not the only DISer up so late. We will look forward to your report on all the events of MNSSHP as we will be attending our first on Oct. 27. Thanks to all

Question about the tickets: are they special in any way. For some reason, I thought that they were Halloween themed. And I think my MVMCP tickets from 2006 were themed (but I could be completely wrong and just dreaming it). I thought at some point, I saw posted tickets with a Haunted Mansion theme, etc.

All of that to say, if I order them and have them sent to me, will they be themed? Last year, I ordered my MVMCP tickets early and they were just generic. I was disappointed.

Should I pick them up at Will Call--will they be themed?

Okay. A lot of questions. Thanks if you made it this far! LOL!

We plan on going for the first time October 8th. We are flying in that day and wont arrive until 4:50pm and taking ME. We are planning to be at the park somewhere between 7:30 and 8:00pm with our printed e-tickets. Any good suggestions for late arrivals?

Is there any way in the world you can go on another day? That's cutting it so close & if there are any delays at all, it wouldn't be good! Just saying that because it's so pricey to go!! :goodvibes

OK...in that case, are you really into the short ride lines or meeting the characters in costume?

Here's my best suggestion:

Get your luggage yourself at the airport & spend the extra money to take a cab directly to your resort, drop off your luggage, & go straight to the MK...you can even skip checking in officially until after the party if you call your resort ahead of time. That way, you can at least try to get rid of the delays you can control!

Good luck!!

got halloween bags today at the Pineville (CarolinaPlaceMall) DS today...$2.50 and when I left they had a few left...hurry if you need to buy them there!:thumbsup2

Got mine Saturday @ Arbor Place Mall/Douglasville Ga. They had plenty left then.

No, they are not special in any way anymore no matter where you buy them. The last year the MNSSHP/MVMCP tickets had a 'festive' party theme was in 1995. It is cheaper for Disney to just to stock tickets.

I got our group all bags Monday at the Lakeside Mall in Mich. They had tons! I am going to put our T shirts and accessories in, along with some goodies- not to many due to the fact we will be having pure sugar for dinner! and put them on the bed for when we return from our morning out, that way we have a nice surprise when we return.

I know this is a long shot but do you think they will bring the characters back to LTT for the party nights?
nettii:goodvibes

9/4 party goers.... Do you already have your tickets? We are going to purchase them when we get there in 3 days but I'm worried now that it may be sold out as a PP mentioned it was getting close...

The first party isn't until September 4th...they usually don't leak the map or schedule until after that. (then there's always some nice DISer that goes to the first party and posts it for the rest of us!)

Darn -- when I bought my tickets back in April, they told me the schedules would be released the first week of August. :confused3 Oh well, at least I'll know what they are before we go in October :thumbsup2

Would anyone going to one of the first few parties be willing to send me a map? Thanks!

This is such a great thread for anyone going to MNSSHP for the 1st time. Thanks to all of you for the tips & tricks to making this a magical night!

Great thread, thanks! I was hoping someone could answer a question for me. Sorry if this has been addressed before, and I accidentally missed it. Are masks allowed as part of your Halloween costume? My friend's 4yr old son will be sooo disappointed if masks aren't allowed. I want to verify this info before I tell them. TIA

I am such a dork! I wasn't thinking about the revived interest in Alice in Wonderland due to the new movie coming out, and I'm going as Alice and DD9 will be the mad hatter. I bet there will be a billion of us there! DH is going to be Mr. Incredible, DS5 will be Dash, and DS12 (who is 5'9") is undecided. He left the choice up to me and I'm thinking Jafar...

I do have a quick question for some of the more experienced DWers. I bought a two day base ticket for each of us and of course we all have a ticket for MNSSHP. We arrive on 10/30 and check out 11/1. Our original plan was DW on the 30th and 31st, Chef Mickey's 11/1 @ 9:35am, then home(south Georgia, so not a long drive). Due to the things I'm reading here I think all day long plus MNSSHP may be too much for the little ones. Now I"m thinking DW on 10/30 and 11/1, and on 10/31 relax that day, then arrive at DW at 4pm. Any ideas as to which is the better plan for the kids? I appreciate any ideas and thanks!:thumbsup2

To the poster who asked about masks: Masks are allowed as long as they are not mascot masks (mascot masks cover the ENTIRE head).
