MNSSHP replaced by After Hours Event "Boo Bash"

I can tell you why we are planning to do it. We have never done MNSSHP before, and we don't know if future trips will fall between August-October, so this is the time to experience it!

And that’s what has me on the fence. I’m going with my teenage daughter who loves Halloween. She’s always wanted to go to Disney for Halloween. finally Halloween falls on a weekend and the following week her school is closed. When am I ever going to be able to pull this off again? She’s getting older. Who knows how much longer she’ll want to hang with mom at Disney. She’s a good kid with great grades and it’s been a long year. It makes me want to purchase the tickets for Halloween night.

So I'm in the position where I feel I have to go. I have young kids and I'm specifically taking them to Disney for Halloween. That means I will need to she'll out $1000 for my family of five to go unless I want to take them trick or treating randomly around Orlando, which wouldn't fly since they knew we were going to Disney to trick or treat. The kicker is my kids will be 8, 5, and 3 so staying up that late is a real challenge. It's a catch 22.

Those who have means, or those who are driven solely by emotion, yes, absolutely they would.

Keep in mind though that this willnot be the full experience of MNSSHP. It should still be pretty awesome, but if you ever can, try to do the real MNSSHP too (assuming it ever returns).
Yes, thank you! I think the only thing I will miss from MNSSHP is the parade and headless horseman in person. Aside from that, the children are interested in being allowed to wear costumes and the free candy. I want the free ice cream and soda!

I'm surprised they're not advertising the horseman as he would be easy to send through at certain time. Maybe he is one of the "surprises." He's great!

I just received an email from Disney saying I have early access to book Boo Bash tickets since I have a resort reservation. I’m booked at CSR.

I completely understand and have some of the same feelings. This will probably be our last trip before my oldest graduates high school. If we don't experience the party now, I don't know if we ever will. But at the same time, don't feel obligated to stretch yourself financially if it's not right for your family. Our August dates will be cheaper than Halloween, so that makes it an easier decision for us. Best wishes with whatever you choose!

I would do it. My daughter and I both love Halloween and were fortunate to be able to attend MNSSHP on Halloween night when she was 13. It is one of my favorite memories and something we still talk about. We have not found a way to do it again since then and are so glad we did it when we could. We also were able to do Villains After Hours a few years later and it is our second favorite thing we've done at Disney. I hope you have a wonderful time if you decide to go!

Try Seaworld - in past years (and it seems in 2021 on weekends), they include trick or treating as part of their normal daily activities in that season...

See, this is where it gets tricky. That's a lot of money for children who are young and may not be able to enjoy the lateness of the party. In the past, I thought Disney resort hotels had trick or treating and sometimes local malls may as well. Plus, the resorts may have themed activities leading up to Halloween that may work better for your family.

so I also got the email stating I can buy tickets starting on 8-June. We are staying on DVC points. The email didn't provide a time or a link to purchase though, just a phone number.

Any idea as to what time the phone line will open? of course I'd much rather buy on line so was reallllyyyy hoping for a link in that email !

My kids will be the same ages when we go in october and have done parties before and have all done amazing, they usually leave wanting more...lol

This makes be concerned that the old MNSSHP is gone for good. If they can charge more $$ for a shorter event with no meet n greets, no parade, no stage show, and no special fireworks then what incentive do they have to bring those back and close the park at 6 multiple nights a week for 3 months. It will be back! They also packed more people into those parties, this one is more than likely going to be smaller number of tickets available.

At this point the haven’t brought back parades fireworks and meet and greets So hard to sell something if those things aren’t for sure yet or in what form.

Are they your points or rented? I have rented points and haven’t gotten an email yet and am starting to worry.

I rented points and got the email. We have other family members coming on the trip but staying off property I’m wondering if I’ll be able to get them tickets as well?
