So I planned to drive from VA to Disney on Thursday 10/25, getting in at Midnight. We are staying at one of the All-Stars. We were then going to go into MK on Friday 10/26 and stay for the Halloween Party.

The problem: I purchased tickets online for Thursday the 25th!!!! DOH!!!

I called Disney and they said I would have to go down there and go into the park and talk with guest relations and ask them to switch the day, explaining my mistake. The rep on the phone said that there is no guarantee.

Does anyone have any experience with situations like this? What are my chances that they will do this for me?

In my mind, it is a VERY BIG RISK for me to take my family of 5 down there and have them NOT make the change... Worse, have to re-purchase the Halloween Party tickets for Friday the 26th, if they even have any left at that point.

Can you just leave one day earlier and book a night off site, you are driving, right.

The last Friday before Halloween is sure to be busy and possibly a sellout. If that happens you might be able to exchange for another night during your stay if anythings available. I have heard of others on here that have made similar mistakes and have managed to exchange them but as they said there are no guarantees. I agree with Kelly if its possible to leave a day early and stay offsite somewhere for one night thats your best option.

I know tickets are generally considered nonrefundable...but have you asked if you could purchase tickets for the date you actually want now and get a refund for the date you accidentally bought tickets for? I know some Dis members have had success getting refunds depending on the situation, so it never hurts to ask. Again, no guarantee.

I think I would call back and see if you could do an exchange for Friday night. Explain that you are concerned about the Friday night party being sold out when you get there if you wait. If that doesn't work, I would consider leaving a day earlier like someone else suggested.

This same thing happened to me and I called to ask if I would be able to exchange and the CM did that for me right then. Definitely ask about getting an exchange.

I will try again, but they said "No" when I called earlier today. They said they only way they could do it would be to visit the park and talk to guest relations. I asked if I could call and she said they didn't have phones...

:headache:

We all know that if you call 5 different CMs, you're likely to get 5 different answers. Call again. Have you received your tickets? Are they being held for you? If they're being held, you might have a better chance than if they're in your hand right now.

I would call now, explain your situation and see about exchanging them for a different night. Even though the tickets say non-refundable, etc. people have posted that they were able to get adjustments, especially if they called well in advance of the night. It would also be worth calling more than once until you get a CM who will exchange the tickets for you.
