MNSSHP HalloWishes Dessert Party - Post tips, helpful hints, and chit chat

Im waiting to hear back from those who go early too. Mainly about the desserts. I can see the 2nd parade and stand near Caseys to see the fireworks. I just want to hear about the desserts lol

Yep bcuz I am giving up the pumpkin spice waffle sundae so the desserts better be at least a close second...:teeth:

Is there anyone else who had difficulty booking for 2 people on the first day the Dessert Party was available for booking? I called on that day and the CM advised they were having difficulty with parties of 2 going through on their system, so she could book me as a party of 3 and then immediately refund one. I said ok.

It's now a week later and I'm reviewing my credit card charges. It appears the CM DID only charge me for 2 people because I have a charge of $138, which equates to two reservations. After that, on the same day, I show a refund for $138 and a second refund for $69 (the cost of one). Would you say the CM royally screwed up the charges giving me back way too much money, or should I ride it out another week to see if the charges appear? I'd hate to screw it up further by calling in now and having them do something only to have the initial charges re-appear later. My other concern is whether my reservation got cancelled due to the CM evidently refunding the whole thing? It still appears in my MDE, but I hate to risk it in case it gets booked up and it did get cancelled.

Ughhhh what a mess! What would you do?

I was able to book my party of two online the first day they opened without any issue personally. Since it shows up in MDE I would wait for the charges to reappear.

Yup. Thats what we will do, with our kids, the first hour or so of the oarty, before we check in for the parade.

We are thinking trick or treat for the first hour too. Have you done this before? How are candy lines in the first hour?

Sounds like they booked and charged for 3, then refunded for 2, then refunded for 1, then went back and rebooked the 2 without the 1 added. Its probably just how they had to work around the system to make it work. I would call just to make myself not worry but you did get charged for 2 people so Im sure you're fine.

edit: after re reading that I think you need to call asap. I misread the first time. Don't wait another week to call. You need to find out whats going on with that now. It sounds like she accidentally refunded your ADR which could cause you to lose it.

Yup, we have.

Thats normally what we do first hour and...honestly...lines move super fast. They develop on and off all night, but..we've not been waiting more than a couple minutes at any of them.

I would second calling. It sounds like they booked it, then canceled it. We had a lot of problems booking for a party of two when it opened as well. After a 40 min call where they kept telling me there was nothing open (when you could book parties of 3, 4, and more), I booked online for a party of 3....two adults and one infant.

I cant stop looking at those little ghost meringue's.

I'm kind of terribly underwhelmed with the dessert choices, especially in comparison with that pumpkin waffle sundae that was mentioned previously. I'm still reserving judgement until the first parties, but so far I'm sticking with the plan of eating my weight in chocolate covered strawberries, and having what I hope is the equivalent of the poison apple punch that was at the Soiree last year, complete with the glow cubes.....*fingers crossed*.

Eh, did you look at that sundae? It looks like a big pre made waffle with a little bit of soft serve on top like you'd get at IHOP... I was excited when I heard it too but now not so much. ;)

I would call ...

Hey guys

I was just away on vacation for a few days and didn't have usage of my phone. Just got home to find a voicemail from disney dining telling me they'd like me to return their call regarding my hallowishes dessert party reservation. I'm book for October 1st for a party of 6. Any idea what this is about? I will not obviously be calling them back tomorrow morning if it's anything of significance I'll pass along the info to you guys. Thanks

Interesting ummm

I actually just tried calling back the number the agent left on my voicemail and the answering machine said disney guest services.

Have no clue what this is about (my reservation still shows in the disney app so everything from that end appears fine)

They are wanting to make sure you are aware that an extra ticket is required for this night. I got the same call.

I suspect they're calling folks who don't have their MNSSHP tickets purchased for the date of their Dessert party. Or maybe they're calling everyone...but we haven't yet gotten a call.

I've already purchased the party tickets weeks ago. They open at 10am so we're about to find out. Maybe as the PP stated, it's just a reminder...

So other poster was correct...

They just wanted to make sure I had tickets to the party...

Has anyone gone to the new dessert party that can report back to us yet? I know we are all waiting for the good , the bad and the ugly about the Hallowishes Dessert party, I would love to see pictures and descriptions of the special desserts. I have my party booked but would like to know if its worthwhile so I know whether to cancel or not.
