MNSSHP HalloWishes Dessert Party - Post tips, helpful hints, and chit chat

Went to the party on 10/1/15 and had a fabulous time! We checked in at 7:30 and got our credentials and then went on Pirates and got a pick with Capt Jack and then went back to the parade area about 8:45. The party was not crowded in the parade area and had plenty of room.

We were then escorted to the desert party and had a good table. Ate lots of deserts, fruit and cheeses. We lined up at the rail and enjoyed the fireworks. I did not mind the view at all.

We thought the reserved spaces were fantastic and helped my DH enjoy the parade and fireworks as he hates crowds and has had a bad experience being pushed prior to Wishes years ago and refuses to be at MK during parades and fireworks since. This is the first year I could get him to go.

has anyone who has done the party had any luck checking in anywhere other than guest services outside the park b/w 4-7pm? it kind of stinks to have to leave the park if you are already inside of the park.

We checked in ~8:15pm, as we got to the parade area, because even though we arrived just for the party, the outside the park check-in wasn't set up by the time they started letting in party guests. I recall reading in the "fine print" in the confirmation email you could either check in out front (maybe up until 7??), then they'd set up the 2nd check-in area across from Tony's/Town Square. Sorry I can't remember exactly when that area opens up, but you definitely won't need to go back outside if you don't want to. Enjoy!

Ok thanks, good to hear.I am just paranoid that if we wait right up until the parade to check in that they won't let us in, but I am overly worrying about it.

wow- sounds like you had a great night!! thanks for posting this info! so you did trick or treating around the whole park from 6:45-8pm?? if so, the treat lines must have moved fast or you guys are fast walkers! I was thinking if we started TOT'ing back in Fantasyland near UTS, then went to Pete's circus, down the barnstormer trail that would take us from 7-7:45. maybe it wll go quicker. We want to meet Tink down in town square before we check in for the parade so I'd like to be down there by 8pm. I hope our party night doesn't sell out (10/25) even though I am sure it will being so close to Halloween and I heard that local schools are off 10/26 too

We finished up around 8:15-ish, in Adventureland, and were to town square by 8:30. We skipped one treat station (the one by Harbor House...the line was all the way down, past the entrance, and pushing into liberty square).

At 6:45, we were in line for the first station, near Stitch, in tomorrowland. We didn't hit a real "line" til we hit the spot down by the liberty square boat dock station (other than the spot we skipped, which, for us, was the one right "before), and even that line wasn't very long and moved quick.

The lines DID move fast for most of the stations. The only slow moving/long line was near Pirates. Everything else was SUPER fast. And we (6 of us) ended up with just about a wheelie (carry on sized) FULL of candy. ;)

My 63 year old mother kept up with the pace, so we weren't running. But we weren't strolling, either. It was less than "commando theme park" pace, but faster than "stroll the park" pace.

Sorry for the delay in replying. We just got back on Monday.

We went to the sold-out party last night and I loved it! We had an early dinner at Trails End and got to MK at 5:30ish. After riding a few rides we got in line to meet Daisy, Donald, and Minnie. They came out at 7:00 and a "suit" checked everyone's wristband.

We did the Tomorrowland TOT trail and decided that was enough for us. We happened upon (official) Alice and Mad Hatter riding the tea cups with some lucky guests. And saw the 7 Dwarves. They made it so anyone could see them.

Loved the Hocus Pocus show and parade. We missed the fireworks (stuck on Pirates), but even without them I thought it was money well spent. There were a lot of people around, but totally manageable.

We did the desert party on the 13th. Asked a few CM's about where to check in for said event and they were clueless. Finally found the stand by guest relations outside the main entry. I was able to approach and get our credentials without having to leave the entry gates by asking over the rope to the CM working it. I think this is the only spot you can do this. Our experience seems to align with others. The layout is terrible as there are too many people trying to go through a small space in line. Of course everyone acts like they have never had a desert or eaten before and the manners go out the window, but that is to be expected. Really, the nice spot for the parade is the best thing about the party in my opinion. If you ask me if I would do it again, the answer would be no. :dog2: (We were one of the ones hoping for the sinister soiree)

We also went to the MNSSHP on the 15th as well, just because we missed some things on the first night we went. We happened to be in line to meet Pooh, Tigger, etc and the fireworks show started while we were waiting. This was awesome. We might be watching future wishes from this place.

So was it really chaotic trying to get desserts? Or was there a slow line to even get into the terrace area?

If you are one of the 1st inside you can get up there pretty quick, but when you try to get seconds or if you forgot something, forget about it, you might as well sit and wait until the line dies down. Of course, you also will not be able to get clear sight of all the fireworks from your table as everyone moves to the railing. Get ready for that too. :-)

We were at the END of the check in line (3 kids needed a bathroom break). It moved pretty quickly.

the line for the buffet is problematic because, even though it's "double sided" the space to get to either side is shared. Sorta like with the buffet along the left and top of th area, and the open area to access it between a far right, squared off wall (if this makes sense).

Do

overall, did you still have adequate time to get food and eat it before the fireworks started?

Sort of, we made it through the line quickly as we were seated early. (We traveled with the group through the bypass) My son wanted to get a few other things, so he got back up and stood in line again. By the time he got back from the line, the castle light up show had started and he was eating during this. After he was done, he came up and stood with us for the fireworks. Honestly, one trip of super sweet deserts is really enough. lol

So it sounds like the moral of the story is to go with the group up the bypass right after the parade and load up your plate the first time through the line! My daughter has a peanut allergy so we may get stuck waiting for a chef to tell us what she can't have but I could at least send my husband and son up right away anyways. Thanks for the info!

There are so many posts here so I apologize if this has been answered already. If we are already in the park well before 4pm where would we go to get our Lanyards? Do we have to go back outside of park to get them and to get the wristband for the actually halloween party?

This thread was from last year's party. The location may have changed for this year's party. I will say that last year the lanyards could be picked up at the parade viewing area (not sure if that's included in this year's package) or at check-in for the actual dessert party.
