MNSSHP Dilemma

So we are doing a family trip this October and I have a dilemma with the MNSSHP. First this will be the second time that we have done the event, the first being about 4 years ago, so I am pretty familiar with the details and what to do. My question is about the tickets. We are planning on going on Tuesday Oct 13th. I want to purchase the tickets sooner than later but I am not 100% sure about one of the members of my party. It's a long story but there is a chance he won't go and I don't want to waste the money on the ticket since it will be a birthday gift to him from my wife and I. How long should I wait to buy the tickets before running the risk of having them sell out?? With him there will be 7 of us going (4 adults, 2 kids and 1 under 3 whom I won't have to pay for).

Any suggestions or thoughts on a potential sell out??

Looking back at 2014 dates all October dates didn't sell out till October. So id say you have time to decide if you want to purchase that last ticket.

I'd purchase sooner than later. Oct dates sell out faster than Sept esp with food and wine going on there. Also, the dates for MNSSHP start later in Sept this year than in previous years, so take that into consideration as well.

I don't know how quick they sell out. This will be our first year going- we are going Oct. 15th But we haven't bought our tickets yet and I won't until I hear that days are selling out. I assume that Oct. 31 and the days surrounding Halloween will sell out first. I Believe I read somewhere that they didn't start selling out last year until August. (Not sure if this is true)
