MNSSHP dates change again ?

I honestly think I would be upset if I was going at the end of Oct, too. If you don't hit a party - then you are stuck with a VERY crowded Magic Kingdom. But...the parties should be less crowded...the people will be spread out.

not true....late october is historically slow. it's been rated as one of the top 10 times to visit in terms of crowds.

Friends went on their honeymoon last year and it was dead.

Not worried about crowds after labor day!

just got off the phone with disney..here are the dates the CM told me...

sept 14 18 21 23 25 28 30
oct 1 3 7 8 11 12 14 17 19 21 22 24 26 28 29 31

I ALMOST got tix, but the system wouldn't let the CM sell them to me tonight!
She said to "check back on...um...in a couple days":goodvibes

So that's all I know!

These dates don't appear to match the hours listed on disney.com, nor do they match the dates on stichkingdom. So I guess we all have to wait- I'm the opposite, I want the dates for avoidance purposes, not attendance.

The September dates (Sept 21, 23, 25, and 28) match the hours that are currently on the Disney site unless (for some reason) mine isn't updating properly.:surfweb:

if you look at the Disney calender and the DIS page hours some of them are wrong ,,,, Sept 3 on the Disney page says park closes at 9 and the DIS calender ways 7 .... a couple of other dates are like that too.... so who do we believe??

Yes, I noticed that too. The DIS site says what the hours were. It hasn't been changed since they were first put up from what I have noticed.

The dates on Disney for September match what the CM told the Previous poster so I guess that means I should prepare to revamp my ADR, or at least start looking at the option 2 aspect. I really liked the hours the DIS had too!

The hours have changed several times, so I am sure the DIS is waiting for the dust to settle before they change their calendars yet again.

The "good" version - where we would have a party on the 3rd or 8th - was only up at the very beginning and then for about a day during the last couple of weeks. Other than that - the hours have consistently been the "bad" version - where we would NOT have a party on the 3rd or 8th.

It seems like a lot of CM's have indicated the first party will begin on Sept 14th, but the websites are all over the place on it.

My hunch is that the CM's (who are telling us the first party is the 14th) are correct on this one.

Time will tell.

they look like they match to me. except for nov 1, but that's actually been given by disney in press releases

Since NO official dates have been posted on any disney site, we'll have to wait.

I'm just going by what the CM told me and what I've read as possible dates.

Regardless of how it works out, there will be multiple dates when I am there, so I can easily shift plans, so I'm not worried.

The kids will be disappointed with no event on the 3rd, but we'll go over to the dark side and visit SeaWorld with the kids $5 offer. Guess MNSSHP was not ment to be for us this year. Oh well SeaWorld will be cheaper.:sail:

I mis-typed- hours on Disboards do not match the CM-reported dates of MNSSHP.

Do they ever do Wishes on an MNSSHP nite? Because if these changes are true, then I made a Cali Grill reservation that coordinates with Wishes viewing, but now that night is a MNSSHP. Will we be staring at empty sky, or do they do a special fireworks for MNSSHP?

Yes they do special fireworks.

I think you will enjoy the fireworks from MNSSHP! They are very entertaining!

But...you might want to double check the time - because it seems like they usually do them at 8:30 or something like that. I am not sure of the time, but I am pretty sure it is on a half hour and not directly on an hour. And we may not know until we get a lot closer to the event.

I would say you could look at the past few years and see...but they are obviously changing the way they handle the party since the past few years would give me a good indication that if we take a 10 night trip in early September we would be able to catch MNSSHP twice. And we get to catch is ZERO times. :(

I am sorry..... I dont' think anyone predicted the late start. With the changes, now instead of having it twice during our trip, they are having it three times, which seems excessive as that's three nights we can't go into MK without a ticket, and we are over at BLT because we like to pop over to MK for rides at night. It looks like hallowishes was at 9:30 last year- we have a 7:40 Cali Grill ADR so we should have no problem still being there for hallowishes- though we could just go over to Top of the World after dinner to watch them otherwise!

Thanks for your response!

We were at Disney on the 3 week of October 3 years ago. Crowds were low and MNSSHP was not too crowded. It was a great week. Columbus Day weekend with 2 days before and 2 day after the weekend seems to be the mosted crowded, other then Halloween week and weekend.

Thanks for the sympathy. I really appreciate it.

Three of us are going to be in Disney for 10 nights and have been planning the trip since 2008. We had costumes decided and everything. MNSSHP was one of the top things we wanted to do. We are pretty disappointed.

And I think you make a very good point. For those going later in the season where they have added several more parties may find that you end up with more parties than anyone would want.

For example, assuming these dates are correct, if you are going to Disney Oct 19th to the 23rd, you will have only one night to enjoy the Magic Kingdom without a special ticket. I would guess that the MK will be pretty busy that one night with all of the people who either are not interested in the party or can't afford to purchase tickets. Those without park hopper tickets will all plan to be at the Magic Kingdom on October 20th.

Last year (and many years prior) they would have had 2 nights to catch Wishes and the crowds would have theoretcially been spread out over the 2 nights.

I do think these party dates will make the MK busier than most people are used to in October because they have added parties to compensate for the parties not starting until Sept 14th. And I don't see how Disney will actually be able to sell enough tickets to sell all of those parties out when they are so close together in time.

I am changing my labour day trip now. I got the dates from dvc today and there are 3 parties on two of the weeks in September too?
