MNSSHP Costume...I'm Going to be Pixie Dust! Need Some Ideas!

I LOVE the pixie dust idea, and have shared it with my family (we'll be the peter pan/tinkerbell group at MNSSHP on 9/12). The idea of bringing the bag of pixie dust to scatter on others was thought of and loved by our group as well. Additional suggestions were tiger lily (and easy and lightweight costume), going as the Cap'n without the heavy coat (just the hat and hook look), and Jane (Wendy's daughter). We have a few extra people than Lisa in our group so we were really brainstorming.
As for the pixie dust costume, how about some organza for the sheer ribbon and bag over your white clothes. Also, the sparkly bendable wires with the stars all over them that people use to tie on gifts or decorate for parties. I am also thinking of adding glow in the dark paint to the sparkle glitter paint to light up the night. We did this on the 4th of July shirts this year and it was a big hit.

Im going on the 28th of Sept..
Would LOVE to see you at the park..

At Christmas, they sell inexpensive strands of lights that are battery operated to be used on wreaths and such.

I was thinking a strand or two inside the costume would look cool. You could set them to "twinkle".

I realize that this might be difficult to find at this time of year, but a craft store like Michael's might have them.

MAN now I want to wear a costume to MNSSHP on 9/16.
But I don't even have a CLUE as to what we could wear that would a) fit in our luggage and b) not be too hot/complex.

Pixie Dust is a great idea! And all these suggestions are great.

What could JC and I do? Lois and Peter Griffin from Family Guy?

Seriously you guys, thanks so much for all the great ideas! I'm all excited now, even though my brother still thinks I've gone "round the bend" :rotfl:

My niece who is going to be Tinkerbell is also really excited, she wanted to know if she can leave a trail of Pixie Dust around and give some to the Princesses. :goodvibes

Going to check out the twinkle lights, those would look cool in the "bag."
I bet they are out already at Michael's or JoAnn's

And to think, originally I was trying to go for something simple! Now I've got lights in my hair and twinkle lights attached to me somehow.

Oh, we will be at MNSSHP on Tuesday October 21st, if you see me twinkling in the distance, come over and say hi!

A Google search for "light up" barrettes turned up:

The costume is a cute idea! This guy can probably help with the "dust" concept!

omg! This is the cutest idea! can't wait to see pictures!

We were lucky enough to get reservations at the Tinkerbell movie preview on September 27th at the Magic Kingdom...you've got me motivated to do a little dressing up!

We have a few extra people than Lisa in our group so we were really brainstorming.

Don't forget about the lost boys! Could be really simple or more elaborate...think about it ;)

I'm a costume designer, so I would love to help anybody design their costumes and help you select the appropriate materials to make them with... Just PM if interested. I'm loving the creative ideas...

Good luck!

What a wonderful and unique idea for a costume! We're leaving in ten days and I still haven't any idea on a costume. Hope you post pictures...would love to see the end result!:goodvibes
