MNSSHP 2017 - Strategy in the making.

Ok friends, I need some advice. After seeing wait times for characters last night, I'm wondering if we will be able to do J&S as well as the 7 Dwarfs... DD is an active kid, and DH has anxiety, so I'm not sure to lines, possibly in excess of 2 hours, will work for us.

I know this was the first party, and they tend to be busy, especially since it's August and a lot of folks are down for heir last summer visits. I only have two parties before our party on 9/7. What do you think? J&S are numero uno, but DD has been asking about the Dwarfs... thanks in advance! :disrocks:

I am doing one after the other. If you start the queue for Jack and Sally at 4pm you should get through (they came out a bit after 5pm I think yesterday) and be in a good spot for dwarves in theory, don't know timing on that side maybe someone else can chip in with that info.

Would you be ok in line and DH takes DD off to ToT or ride a ride or DH sit and save a spot and you take DD? As long as you tell those around you in the queue and prob the CM at the end of the queue. Most people seem to be doing that with kids anyway, I'm pretty sure everyone will be in the same boat, for the longer queues even the adults might have to switch around for bathroom breaks.

I don't think i've seen this answered but are they still doing the projection show before Hallowishes? I haven't heard anything about it so i assume the answer is no.

Based on your itinerary that I actually looked at :-)D ) , YES. Your party is going to be slower then last night. Just make sure when you get your wristband you book it to J&S and as soon as your done there, book it to the Dwarfs. The other option would be to see the Dwarfs later in the evening but the weather could easily mess this up too. Then again if you get to the Dwarfs and the lines are outrageous use Plan B.

We plan to do some tag team stuff. I just got worried seeing those waits last night. 2 1/2 hours during a 5 hour party is not something I want.

Thanks. I think I just needed a vote of confidence! DH and I plan to discuss the party plan tomorrow, just so he's in the know as well.

Thank you for following the outline. Your itinerary can be accessed on Post #1. Your plan looks clean but I'm afraid your timing is off so let's begin...

4:15-4:25 FP Princesses Rapunzel/Tiana 3:20-4:20
You've only allowed 10 minutes to meet the Princesses, you need at least 20/25
4:30-4:40 FP Peter Pan Flight 4:20-5:20
Rides should be about 15/20
4:45-4:55 FP 7DMT (no time limit)
Same here 15/20
5:00-5:15 ?
5:15-5:40 FP Enchanted Tales with Belle 5:20-6:00
5:40-7:15 Belle & Gaston Meet & Greet
7:20-8:00 Haunted Mansion w/Madame Carlotta or Rinotta
Just so you're aware, their time has not been confirmed for 2017

8:00-9:15 ? Ride other rides? Go to the first Hocus Pocus show at 8:15?
9:15-10:15 Hallowishes Dessert Party
10:15-10:30 Hallowishes
10:30-11:05 Hocus Pocus (or should we do first show and do attractions here? - I cannot make that decision for you, sorry )

Let's focus on this for now, you need to know where you're going to be in order to figure this out because timing is everything:
At Frontierland the parade will start at 11:15. If you want to find a front row spot and see the Headless Horseman subtract 30 minutes. So now your time changes from 11:15 to 10:45. The parade lasts 20 minutes which means it will be over by 11:35.

10:45-11:35 11:15 Boo To You Parade at Frontierland

11:05-11:45 11:15 Boo to You Parade
11:45-12:00 ? trick or treat?
12:00-12:20 Hocus Pocus
Since Hocus Pocus starts at 12:00, subtract 20 minutes = 11:40-12:20

Keep working on it you're doing a great job! Add these new times to your itinerary and just post a note. Please do not re-post your itinerary. I know where to find you! :-)

I updated my itinerary. Not sure I was supposed to use blue and red for start/ending times? Also not sure I left enough time for getting from point A to point B, so hopefully someone can help fine tune!

Also, I am considering a Plan B, which is outlined in the post. Thanks!

I see you buddy! The first thing I look for is the date so I know if you'll be attending a crowded party or not. Looking at your plans you need to adjust your times too. Follow the same advise I just gave Lesley and post me a note. :-)

This is going to be interesting to see how everyone manages. There's not much in the way of projection so if you can get a parade spot at the end of Main Street you could watch the fireworks there too. The only issue would be the show, would the Midnight one not work for you?

The midnight show is what I had originally planned on seeing, but with the schedule as it is it would be nice to knock all 3 out in a row with minimal moving!
1015 Hallowishes
1045 Hocus Pocus
1115 Boo to You

What I will probably end up doing is watching Hallowishes, heading to Haunted Mansion, then find a spot for the parade, ride whatever rides or do whatever greets we have time for before the Hocus Pocus show at midnight.

Plan to line up for J&S when we arrive at 4 and hope to be done by 530 or 6 if they come out early the night we are there. One of us will hold a spot in line and the other will go grab food and we will have dinner while we wait.

@Valentina Buritica , @Murr4168 , @Tmom5 and @kayteekt

I just gave Lesley Wake quite a bit of information including guidelines for her itinerary and think you should read it as well. There are TWO posts and they can be easily accessed by clicking here and here.

Please follow the guidelines when creating an itinerary and post a note when done. Your itineraries have been posted on Page One. Please do NOT re-post your itineraries. Thank You! :grouphug:

Great! Because I don't want to spend 2 hours of party time waiting to meet them but I will gladly spend PRE-party time waiting :) I think I read they were out at 520 last night.

Yes, they did. I believe last year they came out at 5pm. Last night I read a tweet Sally was running late. With this being the first party I wonder what the norm will be. We'll know soon enough!:-)

So after relaying all info to DS4, the only characters he wants to see are Lotso and Captain Jack Sparrow. Any idea which line we should jump in first, or exactly where in Tomorrowland Lotso will be? Did anyone experience what the wait times were last night?

Also, is Mickey in the Town Square Theatre Vampire Mickey? That would blow DS's mind! Any reports on those wait times?

You might want to read the posts on the main thread. I don't think anyone stated they went to see these characters with exact times, only to say Lotso's line was 45 minutes.
Yes! Again, main thread.

We are taking our first family trip in a couple weeks! We are soooo excited! We are a little late on planning for MNSSHP. We just purchased our tickets a few days ago. This thread has been very helpful! Although I made touring plans for most days, I didn't even think of doing one for the party until I saw this thread. Pooh and Friends would be my DD #1 characters to meet. (we are planning to go as Pooh, Piglet, and Christopher Robin) I would REALLY like to meet the 7 dwarfs, but I am worried by planning on both, we will spend the whole party waiting in lines. We want to do parade, fireworks and a few rides and maybe throw in a little trick or treating. Is this too ambitious?

Not at all. If you're interested in creating an itinerary this is the right place! There are guidelines, scroll up to post #991 it's all right there. Post back when done and I'll take a look see. :-)
