MM Warriors - Three Steps to Good Health (As of 11/18)

Thanks Lisa!! I am going to check those out for sure!! How does the waist fit on you? I like the mid rise ones the most. Hate ones above my belly button LOL.

I'm with you Kathy. I like the mid rise because they help hold in my lower gut a little  Do you watch What Not To Wear? I love that show. They always recommend mid rise pants. I'd love to get on there with my 6', no butt, ****s or hips, big waist self and see what they could do :rotfl2:

Good Afternoon Hawaii time. It's too early for the Morning Ramble as most of you are probably still up!!

Lisa and Nell – thanks for the compliments. I do so enjoy typing away and trying to find info that will interest you.

Barb – if you have the Carbquick I would use it. I can’t find it here, but have a couple of recipe to make it from scratch. They don’t seem to be on the computer at the moment. Does it have shortening in it like Bisquick? The one I found the other day calls for lard so it was the closest to baking mix I have found.

Oh Lucky Lisa – you can go to Trader Joe’s!! Do you know they carry almond meal. Bob and I found it in Sacramento earlier this year and brought some home. Much cheaper than Bob’s Red Mill – although it has not been blanched, but still works for some things. It took a bit of hunting and asking to find it.

Sorry about the leak. They always seem to come at the worst time!!

Pam - sounds as if you are nice and busy and doing well. That is great.

Robin – I’m into larger boats these days!! Had my fill of sailing, but whatever gets me there! I’m sitting here laughing and Bob is wondering what is so funny.

Kathy – so glad the school episode, or tragedy is a better word, is over with. Let us know how the candy turns out.

The cream cheese croutons sound yummy. I’ll have to try that. Do you want me to move the recipe? I have it down to a science now!!!

Hi Kate - do you get to take Friday off? I'm sure that is not a good day for hubby, though.

Love to ALL:love:

That's right Jocelyn, Carbquik is supposed to be just like Bisquik only reduced carb. It has all the properties of Bisquik. Remember back when all those "Impossible Pie" recipes came out using Bisquik? The coconut pie recipe is supposed to work like that, forming it's own crust when baked. I think I'll give it a try and see how it turns out.

I'm finding a few more low carb products locally that weren't around before. My local grocery has come out with their own lc yogurt which is really good and only 3 net carbs  The same store has started carrying Hoods low carb milk too, yea! Plus, for step2 I found the sandwich thins! I wonder if low carb is starting to make a comeback?

How's this: baked brie with that cranberry on top served with lc tortilla baked triange crisps and/or baked mushroom tops?

I love that show! These trouser jeans follow all of their rules! Dark wash, wide straight leg, waist that holds you in...flat pockets in back.

Yum! You are so lucky with the additions at your store! I think low carb is on the comeback trail.

:woohoo: I think you've found the perfect pants! I checked the website at Kohl's and all they have left are petites in those pants :sad2:

OMG Lisa, I could make a meal out of that. YUM

I am starving since I wrote that! Can't stop thinking about it. I'm counting the minutes until I can have pomegranate Greek yogurt. Thank goodness I have that for tonight!

Thanks, Jocelyn for moving the cranberry sauce recipe.

What do they do with the raspberry syrup and diet rite raspberry soda? Do they add it to the cranberries?

How much sweetener do you add to your cranberry sauce? I'm never sure as the splenda seems to change taste so much after a few days.

I think you use a cup of raspberry soda. I remember a WW recipe for rhubarb sauce that used diet black cherry soda and that is all. I tried to find the recipes again, will have to look further. I, unfortunately didn't save them at the time. I don't find my cranberry sauce changing taste and I keep it for quite a while. These sweeteners were in place of the Splenda All are Splenda, though!!

I actually think maybe low carb is having a bit of a resurgance. How lucky to find the Hoods milk and some low carb yogurt. They just don't bring anything extra into the Islands at the moment.

Sounds really good. I let my sauce cook a bit more than the directions so that is gets quite thick so that would work well.

OMG, can you guys hear Pony's horrified GASP?! Cranberries and mushrooms? What a good way to ruin a perfectly good Brie!! May I just say YUK?! Sorry Carol!! I m sure its really great if you like that kind of thing!!

Barb - that stinks there are no more Lee jeans left at Kohls, I guess I will try the other sites Lisa mentioned...BTW, I want to go on What Not to Wear too!! We could request an MM version...your 6' no oobies, no butt, big waist self, and my 5'4", too much oobies and butt, muffin topped self!! :woohoo: Let them find something for US to wear!! Good luck to em!

Jocelyn - I would love to get my hands on all those different syrups too...think of the possibilities!! May I just add my thanks to you also for organizing and adding our recipes to the thread...I may NEVER manage to figure out how to do that!!

My wonderful supervisor decided to let me swap my days off, so instead of Tuesday off per usual, I am working tomorrow so I can have both weds and thurs off...two days in a row!! :dance3: I know, it sounds like no big deal, but it really is for me, between all the OT and never having two days in a row, it will almost seem like a vacation!!

My mom used to take preserves, like orange marmalade, or raspberry and put them over the cream cheese and nuke for a few minutes to soften it up, then dip in the crackers...might be good with my Polaner black raspberry too...hmmm what to dip in though?

Gotta get to bed, so have a great night you MM's!! Love you all!

Hey Robin, I wasn't going to have the cranberry sauce with mushrooms...that was Lisa's suggestion! The cranberry sauce over some cream cheese sounded good to me. I don't know what we could legally dip in it except for maybe 7-8 tortilla strips. I myself am not good with just having that small amount of something like that. Also can't do the 12 grapes...no self control with certain things. Better for me to not have them at all.

You left out the brie:) I've had a raspberry sauce over brie and the cranberry sounds like a close cousin to it. I bet it would be great. Have you tried freezing your grapes and putting them in a dish and the rest back in the freezer? You have to eat them slowly because they are really cold like little popsicles. I'm like you, I have to put everything away or I overdo it. Today I held a bag of flavored almonds from the Harvest Festival and ate too many. I usually put a handful in a dish. Live and learn. No bags for me!
