MK opening show

Hi! I have a coiple of questions about the MK...Are they still doing the opening show every day? If the park has a 9 am opening what time should I plan on being at MK to watch the show? And one more... what time will the barber shop open on a 9 am day? Thanks so much!

Magic Kingdom Welcome currently starts at 8:40 AM for a 9:00 AM open.

It lasts about 7 minutes in the "full version"(there are shorter versions sometimes used).

Harmony Barber Shop opens with the park.

Also note that when MK has EMH, the Welcome Show is done before the EMH and NOT before the "regular" opening time.

People gather to watch the show, so definitely get there a little early if you'd like a closer view.

Also remember that, unless you take a bus, you have to take the boat or monorail over so plan extra time for that too.

Also note that then the train is not running (for refurb) they still do the show, but do not incorporate the train. Check the refurb schedules to know when it is down.

Kind of random but one of my best memories of WDW was at the opening show. That's where my then 3 year old DD saw Mickey Mouse for the first time. She was very aware that she was going to meet Mickey for the first time.

When she saw him come in on the train she started yelling and waving saying "Hey Mickey, it's me Leah!!!" Brought tears to my eyes and is something that I will remember forever.

That whole day she repeating to herself "I'm here in Disney World" like she couldn't believe it.
