MK Monorail down YET again

I think it's crazy to complain about anything when you're a local honestly. Sure, you're going to see more of the problems than those of us who vacation once or twice every year or so... Just be happy you're there. If I see the monorail is down, I'll find another way. There's nothing that states that you HAVE to use the monorail to get around Disney.

There are countless threads on all the different Disney boards debating the topic of "new monorails". The company that makes this monorail isn't doing anything new (last I heard), so Disney's monorail maintenance is making these things last as long as they can.

Again, I'll take the monorail being down, but being in Disney. I know there are other ways around the parks and resort areas.

I appreciate hearing the complaints of the locals. When someone experiences problems constantly, you know their beefs are legit. Personally, I like to know what to expect.

So I'm curious. Do you pay to stay at a monorail resort?

If you are at the Poly and it is the resort monorail that is down, isn't it a simple matter of walking to the TTC and taking the Express? Or if at the CR, just walk to MK? It seems like the only place this would be a big problem is at the GF.

BTW, remember the good old days when a cast member would answer my question as follows: "I don't know but let me find out for you." Sigh....

I remember those days too unfortunately they seem to be long gone.....

As to the monorail situation that stinks, this is why we take the bus from our resort and skip the TTC. I also try to get there by 8:15 or so if we want to make RD, seems as if everyone and their brother tries to get there at 8:30 for 9 am RD overwhelming the monorail and ferry boats.

If you're at the TTC and the monorail is down, and the ferry is overloaded, and the buses aren't running Uber to the contemporary. Sure it's $12 but it's not worth screwing up your morning / missing rope drop over

From calling the uber, you'll be at the gate in 20-25 minutes, about how much time you should have budgeted for the monorail / ferry.
